Is it possible just to choose some specific units to be recruited at full strength? I'm working on a mod that add mercenary units and it would be cool if they could be recruited full strength like other TW games

The mod does change the Unit Recruitment Strength in the campaign. So that the units don't start with only 30% of their unit numbers.

Yes I guess it is compatible with Multiplayer games. But if you play multiplayer with others, then the other players do need the exact same mods that all works good.

This is normally the case in all Total War Games.

Thank you. The depleted new units bug is a game breaker so this mod actually makes the game somewhat playable maybe (there are many other problems with this game too like insane rebellions).

The new Mod launcher for Rome 2, Attila and Thrones of Britannia has still some bugs. If you experience problems with the new launcher, then you can subscribe to the old Mod launcher again.

STEAM > Library > Total War Game > Options > Betas > choose "launcher_release_candidate"

If you want to use later again the new launcher, then do the same process and choose > Betas > NONE - unsubscribe from all betas

CA rolled out a new launcher for Thrones of Britannia.

It's recommended that you put Unit Recruitment Strength as high as possible in the loading order of the new launcher.

The UPC-TOB should work without the need to activate it manually in the new launcher.

As I described it in the installation instructions, the file just needs to be in the related data folder of Thrones of Britannia.

There is a mod by zinnsoldat that reduces the time it takes for recruitment pools to refill. It's not perfect since it takes a few turns for the mod to kick in but once it does (which it does and works flawlessly) the game becomes so much more enjoyable. The mod is appropriately called "faster unit pool replenishment"

For example I didn't created yet an "Additional Units Mod" which I did since 2009 for each TW game (besides Warhamer). But I created together with a good friend this unit mod below. But I'm still struggling to recreate this special campaign file since the new patch. The units are only playable in the custom battle screen at the moment and a new campaign can't be started yet.

I absolutely understand your frustration and I don't like this overpowered recruitment issue related to the AI too. In higher difficulty levels the AI gets too many buffs indeed. Probably no other modder released yet such a mod, because of the incompatibility issue regarding this special campaign file. In older TW games this was much better solved. Now even unit packs conflict each other while playing a campaign. So you can only choose one mod which changes this special campaign file. For example one unit pack or one big gameplay overhaul. That's really a bad situation.

roebuck i agree that it sucks to have to wait 10 turns for one good unit while the AI just endlessley spawns stacks of elite units. Its stupid. This is the main issue i hate and idk why i havent seen a mod that fixes this yet.

Could you not make a separate mod that only changes the pool replenishment rate? I personally don't care if it's incompatible with big overhauls since i don't use any. I don't use this mod either tbh since i don't mind the low recruitment strength. It's not being able to recruit anything at all that bugs me. Or if you feel so inclined you could teach me how to do it since i'm a total noob when it comes to modding. Either way i would be very grateful.

Unfortunately the recruitment pool replenishment rate is configured via the important campaign file startpos.esf. If I change this file, then my mod will be highly incompatible with all big overhaul mods and unit packs.

Can you make a mod that makes the recruitment pools replenish faster? and when i say faster i mean like 1 turn. I've tried doing this myself but i just can't figure it out. I'm sick and tired of having to wait 10 turns to recruit 1 decent unit meanwhile huge viking armies spawn all over the place and raid and take all my land unchallenged

Please try for a test to deactivate all other mods and then look if it works again. It could be that another overwrites my change.

I released Unit Recruitment Strength 1.4 .

- fully compatible with the new patch
- updated all versions on Steam and the manual installation files on Mediafire
- improved the internal database file name to further increase the priority of the loading order. My mod will overwrite the recruitment strength value if another mod also uses the same value. You can use my mod with all available gameplay mods and overhauls.
