Nothing to fix. There is no wave spawn. Patrols are just redirected to your last known position of you were detected and reported.
Yes: The first parameter of the list is exactly what you need and most likely missed so far. The first parameter controls, of the last used settings (or default) should be loaded, or the other parameters below. The default option is always to use the last parameters used, so you won't need to even look at the parameters of they are already configured. But if you want to change them, you need to change it to "Use parameters below and save". All parameters will than be applied to the next mission and used in any further sessions if the first parameter is not switched again. Hope this is understandable.
