we need a new FTL mod that allows us to be attacked and attack enemy ships from inside our flag ships or cruisers.

I doubt that. It was a long time ago when I made the mod but it does change some code that is supposedly server-side. It is most likely server-side for the ftl jump itself and client side for visual and sound.

Quickly tested it, and they work in pair... but quite odd...
I don't think it's a good idea to use both

I don't know and not sure if anyone tried this.
From the description in the mod you named I can only think of one file they could change and it does seem to be the same file as the one in my mod, so I doubt they will be compatible. I don't think it would cause a crash or something, rather one mod will dominate in changes, I guess? It's not like I would try and risk installing both and using on the save I care about though

The only thing I know to avoid the pause is just targetting the system not the planets...

I think I found solution. There is ship flight queue, it waits for ship to end it's warp animation, and only then allows it to move towards the planet, but it is counted only if you planned jump straight to planet/gateway/station/whatever. It's value is 11 seconds which is just enough for vanilla, but not for my mod. I'll update mode asap.

There's a weird long pause before the ship moves after you travel if you target a planet instead of the star system...

Heres a idea: add those pesky rebels from FTL and use them as a reskin for hostile ships and make space bandits better dressed

well, when you click to respond and lose a crewmember, they are described as "some kind of alien spiders" so i would assume that they aren't mantis. it also says they "burst from the vents", and seeing as how a mantis is generally about as tall as a human, i don't believe that one of them could fit in a vent.

@DemonX3 - Because I'm a little bit of an idiot. There's more than one kind of FTL drive, the one in Starbound is a Hyperdrive, and the one in FTL is a Warp Drive. My brain just calls a Hyperdrive an FTL Drive because that's the one I've seen most often used in space fiction.

Funny thing, it's faster in FTL because they don't actually use an FTL Drive to travel, they use a Jump Drive, which is more like just teleporting places.
