@FearSunn, did you ever make that extended version of this mod? I feel like this mod is still needed in game. I played a few games recently and AI still does not use air. Do you know if the current version of this works with the latest game? I know Devs done some AI work to help the air power, but like I said, I still don't see any air units in my games. Thanks.

When I run this mod the AI build aerodomes and fill with fighters, but don't actually use them AT ALL. I can be bombing the city next door or attacking troops on the aerodome tile and the AI just keeps all its fighters grounded. Is this actually better than base game usage? I'm playing RaF on immortal btw.

By Deploying I mean air superiority mission (patrolling). When Fighter circles around deploy tile (usually a district).

Antarctic official update made some changes to air AI (according to change log). New version of this mod postponed until we get some feeling how updated stock AI operates.

Soon extended version of this mod will be available. AI will get scripted air support (fighters attacking ground targets, using anti-air, etc.) Complex Air AI overhaul. Takes some time to test and balance. Close to finish.

I can confirm that Firaxis did NOT fix the AI at all when it comes to air units, or warfare in general.

I just got done with my first play-through with GS Friday. I didn't really see air units from AI. I had some big nations around my borders that could of used them. I was the only one who had a few, but I was Canada going for Diplomacy victory.

Even thought Firaxis said they took the training wheels of the air units, well I haven't noticed any air units. I will see in my second game how it goes.

@Autism Simulator - I seem to recall reading in the Firaxis GS release notes that the developers themselves have redressed this issue, so it is *POSSIBLE* this mode will beoome obsolete.

On your videos, what mod is that adds those banners under the Civs? I never seen that type before. Some say Eql, Eql, Low.

Oookay... *pout* Well thanks for your response. I wish i could figure out how to get the AI to use fighters, I would do it myself (obviously)! And of course you are right Firaxis should fix that - but they should fix alot of things and they haven't.

I will stay away from AI+ for now. I'm happy to use your mod and i'll look at the adaptive difficulty mod.

Enhanced version with fighter class attacking ground will not be available at least until GS expansion. My point here is again and again: Firaxis should fix it not me.
Regarding AI+ I myself do not use it, never did. can't really comment anything.
For more challenging gameplay I have Adaptive Difficulty mod I am happy with.

It is going well. Fighter class attack (straffe) ground consistently(including naval and enbarked) . AI also rebases its fighters to the cities under thread. This created a new problem - AI now really needs anti-air to be effective at offensive. This is what I am currently working on - to make AI build anti-air. This actually could be done in 2 ways (at least): I could force AI to build AA or alternatively I could just grant AI aa when it really needs it (for free or for gold). Anyway all this is doable, just requires time for some testing and balancing.

My expectation is Firaxis is also working on the issue to fix it with pre-expansion update. In that case this modification will not be needed. At least until then I am not making it public.
