@Orifan1 Not that I'm aware of. But you can just use this or another mod that increases crew, then limit yourself - so if you only have 1 bed, only recruit one crew member, and so on.

Does this cancel out the crew size limit in FU, based on how many crew beds you have? From what I understand I only have 1 bed, so I should only be allowed to have 1. Yet I have 2 crew members.

@Patient Zero No, there isn't a way to do that. As far as I know, the inactive crew tab is only there in case your crew limit ever drops below the amount of crew members you have. It's not intended to be something the player uses to send crew away. This mod should render the tab useless, since your crew size should never increase or decrease while you have this installed.

@SerpentsBlight Is there a way that I can move crew to inactive at will through crew tab? I've been looking around and am only seeing people remove crew beds and other upgrades that grant larger crew sizes...

@NutsAndBees I actually decided to go ahead and put together that vanilla version of the mod. It works a little bit differently just cause this mod uses some of the BYOS changes from FU to apply, but I hope this works for you and anyone else that wants it:

@NutsAndBees Not from me, though I've thought about making one. I remember there being a couple crew size mods a while back, but from a quick check they look like they haven't been updated since 2016, so I have no idea if they still work. You might want to check into them.

@Guy You mean having crew follow you out of your ship, right? No, this mod doesn't change how many crew you can bring with you. I used to play with another mod that allowed more active crew members, though it's been a while so I don't know if it still works.

I should have a version somewhere, if you have some way you'd like for me to send the file. No guarantee anything would work though - I only ever made it with steam in mind, and I don't know how the mod loading order works with non-workshop mods.

@Rido It does not work without Frackin Universe, and in fact you needed to have Frackin Universe installed when you made your character for this to work.

One thing you should note while looking at your list, if the mod changes something about the ship (even if it seems minor) then it likely is actually REPLACING the ship (or rather ship related files). Anything that replaces tier 0 will render FU-BYOS unusable.

@Vininator There are a couple possible reasons for that that others have had.
1. Did you have Frackin Universe installed when you made your character?
2. Are you using a custom race/ship mod that prevents you from being prompted to make a BYOS ship?

@ngsborder If you make a character of any race and it lets you choose between the BYOS or default ship, then this mod will work for that character. For custom races to get that choice, you will need the FU BYOS Modded Race Patch, which you need to have installed when you create your character. However, it doesn't support all races. I'm fairly sure avali is supported by the race patch, but I'm not certain about smol avali.

I suspect you didn't have the "FU BYOS Modded Race Patch" mod installed prior to creating your ship. Unfortunately, while this mod can be added to a ship after creation, that one can't, and that mod is required for this one to function for races and ships that aren't prompted to choose BYOS at the start. You could get this mod to work by deleting your shipworld file (resetting your ship, so move your things onto a planet first if you do this), but otherwise you'd need a new character.

The race is Fenerox, ship is "Default" (modded, Soma Exploration Ship (Fenerox)) and this is an older character before installing mod.
