So @phoenix. The slash attack of the ripjack is the same attack used for both wrath and justice. Meaning that just by adjusting the slash you adjust all 3.

I'm a bit confused. This mod only seems to affect Slash and Whiplash. However, in the picture for the mod it also shows Justice and Wrath as well. Is it only supposed to affect Slash and Whiplash?

This doesn’t affect crit chance of the Bullpup, right? Someone said it has a 0% crit chance by default, not counting abilities such as Zero In.

not using that one, but im curious are you ussing the missing fx+ resources? i know is required for even more maps and ABA, but was causing me issues with plasma tier and some ammo maybe was causing the same issue with this mod. i removed both in order to play without crashes and been fine so far. running 359 mods atm btw.

I'm not experiencing that and have been using the mod since it came out. I think you have another problem somewhere else. Maybe you're using LWotC?

Unplayable, Causes Crashes with Whip attacks and grappling removing mid campaign doesnt solve it, need to be disable and start fresh to stop the crashes.

poorly coded or some sort of incompatibility with Missing fx + resources which causes crashes while shooting when you reach plasma tier and use certain types of ammo.

removing it from my list solved the problem.

@Udaya An update: removing this mod stopped those specific crashes, and I was not/am not having any other crashes. In hindsight, I think the crashes were happening specifically when Skirmisher crits were proc'ing (explaining why it didn't happen every time the ability was used). Maybe resubscribing will stop the crashes? I'm not sure, but not really bothered by it enough to try troubleshooting it. I love your other mods though! Hopefully this is just an isolated case, since you're saying that this kind of mod typically shouldn't cause crashing.

@RockSmacker I'm not sure if this mod could cause your game to crash. Most of the changes from it are configuration-based, like changing critical hit chances for certain weapons. The only thing scripted here is the Whiplash critical hit chance, which you could remove by deleting the Script directory contained in the mod. Even then, I'm doubtful it would prevent crashing.

Frequently (but not every time), when I perform a special move with the Skirmisher, my game crashes. It doesn't crash any other time, and this is the only mod that affects the specific moves that lead to my game crashing when I use them. Not sure if anyone else has this issue but maybe something to look into?

@GargakOfTheEast Nope, I haven't touched this mod's functionality for quite a while. Though I'm doubtful that it could change the number of charges Whiplash has. The only thing I did in this mod outside of re-configuring crit chances/damages in various .ini files is apply the crit bonus to Whiplash.

However, I added the crit bonus by re-initializing a variable for "X2AbilityToHitCalc_StandardAim," which is completely different from X2AbilityCharges/X2AbilityCost_Charges. Those are the ones you'd use if you wanted to directly alter an ability's charges.

Not that most mods would do that, though. You can easily change Whiplash's charges in XComGame_DataSoldierSkills.ini, so no need to compile an OPTC section.

I use Skirmisher Reloaded, which removes charges on Whiplash and replaces it with a cooldown.

Did you change something recently? Now Whiplash has 3 charges. Things worked fine before, I don't know what happened.

@Blaze This mod does up the critical hit damage of Whiplash from 0 to 2, but the base damage should remain at 6. You should be able to see it in the XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini for this mod.

So, quick question... this mod doesn't touch the base damage from the Whiplash ability, does it? I've noticed in my current campaign that it's doing *stupid* crazy amounts of damage, and there are *several* mods that might be doing it, but I have no idea which one it might be; this is just one of the possible contenders. Like, it's doing somewhere in the area of 12-15 damage on normal targets, with a listed *30* damage against a mechanical enemy in my most recent mission...

I have found that simply adding crit damage to Whiplash allows it to flank enemies.
Where previously there was no modifier, now when I flank something, 40% shows up.
IMO, that's all we need.
Although, allowing Zero In to apply to abilities potentially grants crit chance to all these abilities.

@ATRZ Perhaps, but since popular mods like "Not Enough Skirmishing" and "Skirmisher Rebalance" already modify the Parkour GTS perk for Skirmishers, I think the Workshop will be better off without Skirmisher minimods that conflict with a different GTS perk.

@DisturbingLackOfFaith It’s certainly compatible with that mod. I used that one before switching to “Not Enough Skirmishing” since the Parkour GTS perk is more balanced in it. Aside from that, they’re basically the same mod.

@Schleicherfreund I just tested Whiplash right now, and the critical damage output appears to be 16 for robotic units; two consecutive 8’s.

@Schleicherfreund Not exactly, but I do know that Whiplash deals two separate damage outputs during the extra damage calculation, just like Combat Protocol. It’s usually just two consecutive red 6’s, but I guess that with a crit they might both deal 8 damage. Course, it might just be one 8 and one 6.

@Schleicherfreund It's not that Whiplash has to do crit damage, but the fact that it can crit at all without extra damage confuses me. I gave it +2 crit damage, dealing 8 base damage on a non-robotic enemy.

Personally I think Whiplash is already one of the strongest abilities in the game and wouldn't require any crit damage.

@myerik I gave the Ripjack a 25% chance to crit throughout its tiers and have seen Whiplash do useless crit damage on several occasions, many through flanks.

@Love The Harley It should work with that mod since this mod only changes the base critical nature of these weapons as opposed to making Whiplash charge-less and only moving Ripjack-based abilities around the Skirmisher’s skill tree.
