I have released a competitive edition of de_cortona focusing on balanced 5vs5 competitive play with guidance, directions and feedback of Sal "Volcano" Garozzo.

This competitive version is a bit different from the regular one as it was tweaked with the help of competitive guru "Volcano" to be suited for fast, balanced competitive matches.

I spend 3-4 hours on each map just tweaking and fine tuning the nav mesh so bots can fully use the map without errors (since I mostly play against them :)

The map uses standard CSGO textures from Italy, Inferno and dust. The custom textures are of high quality with the same resolution, if not better than stock textures. They're 51x512 and some are even 1024x1024, all with proper normal maps, specular maps and multilayering done in Photoshop to simulate the old, worn feeling of the medieval town.

I love this map. It's very balanced and doesn't give the CT an immediate advantage the way many maps do, even valve maps. The colors are nice, sharp and vibrant, and the textures are fitting. Although it's a bit flat at some points, I would recommend this to both veterans and newcomers. Also the textures aren't as sharp as the stock maps, but thats the only two gripes I have about this map. I'm looking forward to your future maps.

@ marco: On the contrary, the gameplay in the map is fast, you don't have time for camping. Even the bots don't camp :)

perche' i paesi stretti sono tana dei camper , dietro ad ogni angolo , o ma quante mappe ai creato , hai utilizzato l' editor di cs go , o un altro programma

@will2k okay haha I thought that might be it. I just couldn't belive we came back from being down 10-2 and won haha. This is probably my favourite GO map so far though and I hope it gets added where we can play it competetivly!!

@ Dat Miyamoto: The map was thoroughly tested when I first released it for CSS some 7 months ago. It is balanced and both teams have equal chances of dominating; it all boils down to the players/teams' skills :)
