yeah, unfortunately I don't have the research option (have a level 6 bench) and rations aren't for sale in the farm shop so it's like the mod didn't even enable, not sure why. it could possibly work on a new save, I just haven't tried that :)

but thanks for the fast reply! at some point when I make a new save I can let you know if it works there

You can't see a new research item added called "animal rations"?

It has been a long time since I even looked at this, I can't even run kenshi very well anymore since my GPU crapped out on me heh, all I have now is the IGPU.

Actually I don't even have the "source files" for the mod anymore, switched to linux a while back, forgot to back them up, I think I could download the workshop item and then open it up on the modding tool, not sure though.

Anyway it's nothing special really, just a few new food items for animals, and a few changes on the feeders to make it accept just them, I made it mainly because I was getting tired of my characters storing all sorts of food in the feeders.

You could make it very easily yourself, the tool is pretty self explanatory :)

Imma leave the mod unlisted for now, if more people say it doesn't work anymore I'll just delete it

I can't get the mod to work even after importing, any idea why? looks awesome :)

Do any of the feeders work indoors?

you just saved me thousands of cats by giving me a vegetarian option for my wee beasts.

I'll take a look, won't make any promises though, this mod is old and not that many people use it heh.

This is the first time I hear about UWE, seems pretty hefty, but the work involved in adding the extra stuff in a compatibility patch shouldn't be too bad.

I have been loving this so far. Anything that adds some depth to the world (in this sense cooking), is greatly appreciated.

If you know how, could you make a compatibility patch for UWE, so that multigrain, barley and other kinds of flour could be used as well, instead of just Strawflour?

wow that was fast :D thank you :) ill give you feedback if something makes problems :)
Gerustroncio  [author] 1 Feb, 2021 @ 2:24pm
Done :), I added a new building called "Animal Ration Dispenser", which is the exact same as the feeder, but it only takes the rations, left the regular feeder as it was

Comes with the same research, I'm pretty sure it should work fine with existing saves.

Let me know if there are any problems.

i suport Joe78man's suggestion, would like to only allow those animal rations in my animal feeder
i would edit it myself but i dont know how ;D

any chance to change this? I just want my raw meat into the raw meat storage, not in the feeder

Ah, nice :)

Added the Get Food AI and changed the use range, and now my garrus can eat from the feeder just inside the door.
shaynec_777 18 Jun, 2019 @ 7:24am
I tried it shortly after posting this comment, and successfully made a mod to allow me to build indoors or outdoors. I used one of the large buildings in The Hub and made a feeder right in the door way, and waited until my Garrus got hungry. Though they were right there at the doorway, beside the feeder, they didn't use it. I tried increasing use range to 100, and that didn't work either. Tried allowing my Garrus in the building and they still didn't eat. I'll poke around more today.

Yeah, it would be pointless anyway, the animals can't go into buildings (unless you mod all buildings, I think it can be done anyway), and the Feeder cannot be built on the steps, which I didn't think it would be possible to anyway.

I was going to suggest you just force add it with the Shift+f12 menu, but then the owner of the fedder will be The Hub, and you animals won't get food out of it anyway

You can just leave it be really, if anyone in the squad has food with them, any member will eat when they get to less than 220 on their hunger stat (which the game still considers as "well fed" so no stat penalties)

If they have food with them they eat when they get under 250, if they have a food storage nearby they'll go get some when they get under 240, and they'll get food out of other squad members when it gets to under 220.

Yeah it's pretty easy to change that, though I'm not sure if you'd be able to build it on the steps, imma do some testing :)

But you don't have to depend on me really, all you have to do is make a lil mod of your own where you change the settings of the feeder(or clone tyhe feeder and make an indoors version), it'll work with my mod no problems.
shaynec_777 18 Jun, 2019 @ 12:53am
Is there any way to make this buildable inside a building? I am trying to build up The Hub, and can't put a feeder outside as I don't own the town, and can't build it inside. If I could build it inside I could put it on the steps of one of my buildings and that might work to feed my beasties.

the abriviation "NU" I would take a stab in the dark and say nutritional value for health regeneration and how ofter you need to feed your caravan animals. I'm guess you took that into account. 25% being 1/4 of the value, needing to feed more and longer time to heal, to get the same resaults as 75% taking less food consumtion and healing faster.
Gerustroncio  [author] 8 Jun, 2018 @ 5:30pm
I might tweak it more later, but I think those values make sense, but yeah they were a little arbitrary.
