I'd love it if there was a way to use a "sampler" to sample a type of meat that we could then "grow".
Ex: if someone wants to "grow" pork, provide pork in the sampler and maybe do a bit of research.

Also, it'd make sense if it was also necessary to supply the meat growers with some sort of nutrient since they're net feeding off of sunlight. Maybe something like a Vanilla nutrient paste pipe integration could do it.

Otherwise, love the concept! I've gotta try to code my own extensions like this.

Room temperature should be adequate. They don't have special temperature requirements for growing beyond normal plants.

Yes, this should work just fine. All synthetic meat counts as real meat.

I don't know that mod, and I don't have the source code to the mod. I know leion247 has it, as I'm just the programmer. So if there is an issue, leion can reach out to me and also send me the source code if he wants to. I do know he is learning Rust, but RimWorld uses C#.

I'd sure hope so. It's just the normal plant and harvest jobs like any other farmable, but meat.

It's just normal growing and cutting. The light level shows that they don't require light to grow, not that you need a dark room.

How is this OP for others? takes a lot of time, consumes power and gives low meat, I think I would need 2 of these for eveery colonist

You're right. However, I lack the ability to make the game consider different meats as vegan made. So despite the accuracy of that, we're stuck with what we got.

Nah, a half hydroponics length is that most you'll get. There isn't any plans to majorly expand or change the general way the mod currently plays or is balanced relative to the base game.

Will it be specified if the meat is synthetic or not? Or will it just straight up generate the meat? (I don't mind if it is specified to be synthetic, that means I can just sell it like a capi- er, using my trader culture for a different price due to Vanilla Expanded mods doing... things.)

hmm, i cant get my pawns to use this synthetic meat in cooking, anyone have any pointers? meat is in storage and everything is how it should be i think. im puzzled

EDIT: be sure to go into details on the bills tab and select that synthetic meat is checked... xD

Lol @ the person saying it doesn't make sense to lab grow meat, it's already happening on earth and we don't have glitterworlds, AI mechs, or all this other space travel stuff going on

@Fassina it's not artificial meat, cultured meat is meat that is lab grown from samples in a nutrient bath. It's favorable to the bug protein farms as it's real meat, no change in taste, and better on ethics and space (it's never anything more than meat, no nervous system and you don't have to give it any room to move or even reproduce)

Would be more popular and make more sense if you changed it to growing bugs, like normal bugs not rimworld bugs. A beetle farm, or crickets, or some other normal scifi / post apocalyptic insect farming version rather than artificial meat. Also more balanced.

Having the same issue as ddecharmoy420.za. Researched it, can't see it in production. BUT, production category is highlighted when I search for "meat lab" so it's like it IS there, but I can't see it. And yeah, I'm using a lot of other mods...

I can't get pen animals to work in my pocket dimension so this mod is perfect for my meat production pocket dimension. I tried to find a meat plant mod (Sos2 is perfect...Too bad I don't want the huge compatibility nightmare ship part of the mod :P) The others I've found also add way too much. this mod is just right!

I think hexathos is trying to say

"Could you make synthetic bug meat for undergrounders and synthetic human meat for cannibals"

I think his cannibals have the munchies and can't find any raiders/caravans... Although now that I think about it if you are trying to go multi ideology it could help with the annoying micromanagement of trying to butcher some humans just so your few cannibal tribe mates don't start murdering people because they feel sad.

@hexathos I think you could use rimsqol to change one of the plants to be human/bug as needed.
