A lot of cases the map developer doesn't need to make AI nodes. The person playing on the map can use the nav_generate command (assuming they've enabled the developer console) and naviagtion for A.I will be created for that map. I'm not sure if it will be saved since I never really took the time to try this but a lot of people reply to use this command when someone asks for AI nodes or whether a map has one or not.
