I still use it for the no attrition part. vanilla black ark suffering from high sea attrition makes no sense

@siej you can do this with any lord. open their skills, and either on the skills or details tab, in the bottom right corner their is a boot icon, so you can replace the current lord with another.

I see. Don't know if its completely unneccessary though, cos knowing the AI, they wont ever hold on to a level 5 black ark. Their arks always get stomped minus Lokhir i guess. The main reason I got this mod is because I main high elves and i wanted dark elves to be tougher to defeat. would there be any affect on keeping this mod active still? Say, if i wanted the DE to have a super buff?

You get like 80% upkeep reduction from almost all units in vanilla with max upgraded Black Ark, they have also added executioners to the black ark now.
But i made this mod because you couldn't fight the battles at sea and was forced to auto-resolve so it was really useless to have a black ark and losing every battle at sea anyway... thats no longer to case.

They really need to hard cap or reduce upkeep on AI black arks cos i can stomp every campaign against nagaroth cos every campaign the only armies they have are black arks cos the AI is broken

Mod works great for me. Runing with radious fine. Haven't had that CTD bug.

Found a ctd bug with this mod. Should have made this comment when it happened so my memory is foggy, but I believe this mod and radious together was the culprit. If your cursor goes overtop of a unit which is recruitable under the green public order building chain, than the game instantly freezes, than ctd within 10 seconds. Just a warning.

I have to say that even with last level upgrade, the black ark bombardments are still really crappy in the base game. Is there anyway you can buff the damage?

The aye aye patch has given the Black Arks unit upkeep reduction per tier of the Black Ark as well as the tier of the military building they are built from. In addition they added new recruitment buildings to the Black Arks to cover almost every unit in the Dark Elf roster.

dude if you change the range of the ark ( the circle ) you'll help a lot, because the dark elf don't have global recruitment. plzzzzzzzz dudeee make the circle bigger

@Burjis: Lokhir's -50% Corsair upkeep is only for his army, so it wouldn't interact with the Black Ark's reductions.

@burjis dunno yet, i dont even know if the legendary lords with black arks get affected by these changes. But i will make more changes once i have tried out the new dlc/patch

@SorcererSupreme: Thanks. How does Lokir's 50% upkeep reduction for black ark corsairs play into the 50% upkeep reduction of black ark corsairs inside the ark introduced in your mod? Would they stack?

Update 9/11-2018
Since they have added Black Ark land battle and other cool changes i have nerfed this mod accordingly.
- Movement ranged bonus reduced from 40% to 30%
- Replenishment bonus reduced from 20% to 15%
- Reduced the auto-resolve bonus from the mod by 35%, so actually fighting the battles are more favorable.

Would be cool if you could make them count as settlements, so you could 'live' IE own nothing on land and just out of one on slaves and high risk-reward raiding.

Nice. Still too bad Black Arks are generally useless, you cant attack with them, cant reinforce in battles. Pretty much the bombardment spells are the only thing thats worth it, and you dont need units for that. They should have made Black Arks like the Skaven rite of DOOOM, sort of like an agent.

But this should augment them nicely.

@kopelt07 this mod is compatible with SFO, so you shouldnt see any problems. SFO makes Black Ark abit better than vanilla, but i feel its still too weak. Highly recommend especially if you using SFO for a more lore-friendly feel.

@Kris @SorcererSupreme So does this work properly with SFO?? They make some changes to the Black Arks, but I'm not sure if they're the same, or if they're changes that will cancel each other out or not.

@kris not even sure if you can do that, that mechanic isnt even in the game. Normal armies doesnt get supported by garrison/armies from the land when they get attacked at the shore either.

First, Thankyou so much for a great mod.

Is there a way you can make it so the ARK's Are reinforced by settlements/armies on land? when in there Zone Of Control ? it will make them less vunerable when reinforcing, and won't be overpowered on sea.

@Token There might be some mod conflicts, because in my dark elves campaign they felt really powerful. But iam not going to buff them anymore, then i mignt aswell rename it cheat mod. It cant be 100% lore-friendly without ruining the balance.

@SorcererSupreme I have units on them but I was actually still losing arks without much warning. I just did a campaign where I moved the arks in pairs and voila they finally served their purpose lategame.

@Token Maybe i misunderstood, but are you saying this mod is worse in late game? Because its not, it makes late game black ark more than twice as powerful in autoresolve compared to vanilla, and you are supposed to stack them up with units in the late game atleast thats why the units have reduced upkeep + you get tons of othrer bonuses

This mod is a great and well balanced/thought out especially for early/mid game. Unfortunately the Ai is so obsessed with sinking these ships that ive often had 3-4 arks sunk in the lategame and just got totally fed up with the grand campaign. DE's dont have another way to project power and reinforce so it really kills the campaign for me.

Thanks. This was so needed. These things are supposed to be magical floating island fortresses in the lore. Getting one shotted by a transport ship shouldn't happen.
