Wonderful mod here! However, is it intentional not to apply the faction bonus to new types of trolls? (+15% physical resistance and -20% upkeep cost). That's a big bonus and I'm afraid that if the trolls in this mode aren't balanced taking that into account, it will make them somewhat obsolete...

Kind of confused what Trolls to go for. Tons of options but I have a hard time deciding which ones are optimal. Same with throggs red skill tree to buff trolls. I feel there are too many red skills for all the different types of trolls unless you have played with this and experimented several times. The red tree for the various trolls feels way too spread out and should have only been 1 or 2 points to max them.

I can't say for sure because i'll need to wait and see how much of the (non-unit) elements of the mod need changing. For now i am relatively optimistic that it can will be ready fairly soon after IE launch, but unexpected problems can always delay the release.

@FullAutoAttack the SFO version is run by a different person. if there's a problem with the SFO version you should go and comment there, not here

@Tricks if you make such a submod could you send me a link? I was really disappointed when that change was made to this mod so if a submod can change it back then that'd make me really happy (I'd do it myself but despite multiple attempts I can't get my head around even the most basic aspects of modding, I did gain a whole new level of respect for modders form the experiences though)

Ah, okay, that makes sense. Maybe it would be better then to mod Wintertooth's faction effects to be toned down some but apply to all trolls, like 10% upkeep reduction and 5% physical resist. It feels like the faction effects gives vanilla trolls an advantage over the new units as they are cheaper and tougher with the resist bonus.

But that's something I can easily tweak in my own game as a submod.

@Tricks the new trolls don't benefit from Wintertooth's effects. they used to but some people complained that it apparently made it too easy (I personally disagree) so it was changed so that only the Norscan and Ice Trolls and their variants benefit.

First of all, Throgg is one of my favorite LLs so thanks for the great mod.

This might be an issue on my end but doesn't seem like any of the new troll units are getting the upkeep reduction or physical resist Wintertooth faction effects. This is the only mod I'm running atm. Is this just me?

Of course it is technically possible, but i will not do it. I simply do not have the time necessary to make that happen currently.

for Lord appearances could it be possible to move the different troll traits from a skill to having different lord variants instead and then have the various troll models as different lords?

He looks fine for me. Are you using sfo/the submod? If yes, then you ll have to report the problem there, I didn't make the submod. Alternatively, are you using DirectX12? It can mess up custom models.

@Hohenzollern Thanks, glad you like the new heroes. I see your point with the Lords, but at least they dont look just like discount Throggs anymore.

@Alessar I would be surprised if the CTT submod for OvN does not crash without OvN.

Havent played yer trolls in a bit... but I just discovered the new heroes... OMG Elon, I love you! These guys are great!

Slight nitpick, but they looked better as the old model trolls... more trolly and less black-orcy for the lords. Other than that, gonna go enjoy my Throg campaign (now with more troll heroes!)

Yeah. But in vanilla( = without mod) Ogres don't receive buffs. So they won't get any here either, not really the goal of this mod to make ogres better or more viable.

@FullAutoAttack I am always looking at vanilla for such things. Since no one really buffs ogres, they won't receive buffs here either.

Probably, I don't see anything that would prevent it. I don't know what buffs will apply to them though. If they use the vanilla troll groups, then they should get icetroll/norscan troll buffs.

I am going to try this mod someday, I can't use this because it conflicts with deco's dwarf chaos roster. But I can say that this was the missing piece for throgg in the game, King of Trolls but not enough troll roster for throgg....LOL

Oh right, the old cyclopean fiends is ridiculous, all I did was introducing a level lock 'cause in vanilla you could just take it right away. Guess i'll remove it with the next update for ugma too.

Throgg losing cyclopean fiends/champions in your latest update and ugma retaining it generally means that Ugma is the new king of trolls as losing 15 matk and mdef for all trolls makes a huge difference.

It ends up with 22 matk and mdef with the far more powerful aura vs 8 mdef and then 10 matk from frenzy which can be disabled.

As far as i know it gives special followers. That isn't anything i did though, that is one of the new skill CA made for Throgg in the last update.

What do the Dread Retainers do on Throgg's skill screen? It has 3 levels and doesn't show at all what it boosts. I looked and couldn't quite tell. Does it give you the banners?

Thank you again for your continuing support. Still have a hard time getting a lengthy campaign out of Norsca due to economy but this still makes Wintertooth probably my favorite faction, and it keeps getting better.
I don't suppose you've had a chance to look into previously suggested methods of unit exclusivity between Wintertooth and World Walkers that become available upon confederation? I'd love to play a game where Wulfrik has to subjugate Throgg in the name of Archaon and the ruinous gods in order to get access to trolls and dedicated troll armies, but, you know, the huge variety in this mod, not just the TWO vanilla ones.

Took off Better Sieges and added this (inc SFO version) back on along with No Humans mod. I got a little further into the game, managing to get an old campaign save and a freshly started campaign to start but it crashed at the end turn. Took off No Humans mod and it seems to be working ok so far. Thanks to @chuckawookie for working out it was the sieges mod, so much time saved :)

I'm having the same issues as @chuckawookie. It won't go past the first home screen with either this or the No Humans mod. At least now I know it might be the sieges mod that conflicts so I can test with that.

ok cool. he's also getting -10% upkeep for all Trolls, Skinwolves and Fimir, leadership +12 for all Trolls, Skinwolves and Fimir, Missile Resistance 10% for all Norscan and Ice Trolls, the Horrible Regeneration also applies to Skinwolves, he gives normal regen to Fimir, Melee Defense +8 for all Trolls Skinwolves and Fimir, Frenzy for all Trolls and Fimir, and finally Global Recruitmen Duration -2 for all Trolls Fimir and Skinwolves on the same skill tree branch so you've probably need to take a look at those too since most of them affect trolls (and with the exception of the Missile Resistance one all of them (including the Horrible Regeneration one) all say that they affect all Trolls instead of just Norscan and Ice Trolls)

it looks like Throgg is getting a new skill on his tree in the upcoming update that upgrades Norscan and Ice Trolls in his army to have Horrible Regeneration instead of just normal (it's not any faster but it can resurrect dead combatants). will you be applying this skill to all trolls or keeping it limited to Norscan and Ice ones?
