Thanks for the suggestion. I've made the change. Was easy to do. Gives me some room and imagination to expand on this system in the future.
I can certainly tag the curios to receive the quirks, but I think your earlier comment was right in that it might be too much work to get the corresponding Brands and Marks so I will try to make some adjustments when I can.
It's just that the tedium of waiting for it to appear on your hero is quite dissuading, that's all. Compare to prismatic and Corvid's, which both can be forced and controlled better, assuming you can defeat the bosses associated to them. I like having a lot more customisation to my heroes so the 32 is very enticing, but I'll need a true method to control them. If you may, I'd suggest a mob or a curio. Cursed books, maybe? Shambler's altar perhaps?
The player can eventually control what Brands & Marks will show up.
That said, I intended them to be pretty rare because the idea of extending prismatic quirks to your entire roster is a huge boon for the player. Haha, but I initially only wanted 10 Brands / Marks but I guess the list went on a little too long.
You have a point though.
So you have to
1. Get a brand. Which has astronomically low chance of happening (0.0035).
2. Get a mark. Which has very low chance of happening (0.01)
3. Have them matched, which is a 32(-n) X 32(-n) possibility where n is the number of existing mark/brand.
Sounds pretty silly to me. If the gameplay goes long enough, you will reach a point where you have no issues peddling money. You can easily reach 500K with 30 weeks of Antiquarian ***ging and a bank. Dealing with the odds is more of tedium rather than micromanagement.
