Protip, if you want to get rid of this mod without using the placebo mod, download the darkest dungeon save editor, go to persist campaign mash, and remove the parts NOT associated with the thing. Worked for me

As said it could crash with a lot of mods... but interesting mod.
It could be a good idea to farm bosses on the early game with this mod, than deactivating it, and add some more mods on the late game ^^

I am currently working on a new mod. It will be a brigand incursion like quest, but it will only have a single fight, where you fight waves of enemies from the different regions. Each wave is handcrafted with unique synergies and interactions between the monsters. Not only that, but there are multiple variations to each wave, which means that each playthrough of the boss is going to be unique. The short version of the lore is that a portal to another reality opens up within your hamlet and you will have to fend off these invaders to close the portal.

The mod is currently nearly finished when it comes to the fight itself and is currently being play tested by anyone willing (I still need to do 3 variations for a champion wave). Things left to be done include rewards, town event art, overall polish, rewriting most of the monster names/lore tidbits and adding sounds to all the attacks.

Again, I am terribly sorry for the huge delay in resolving these issues. After I made this mod, I soon quit everything related Darkest Dungeon and moved onto other things. Hopefully you'll be able to recover your save file by using the mod I linked below.

I have created Roaming Cultist Removal mod, which will allow you to safely uninstall this mod. Simply replace this mod with that mod on your save file and then follow the instructions listed on that mod's page to get rid of the mod for good.

You still can't uninstall the mod. I created a totally new save file with only this mod active, played through the first dungeon and then when I try deactivating the mod I got a black screen when I clicked on "Embark".

I am extremely sorry for the very late update, but the mod will now work on moderately modded save files (20-30 mods max). No more white box issues will be experienced, as long as the save file is not heavily modded.

Unfortunately there isn't much I can do to make the mod compatible with heavily modded save files, but this should at least make the mod playable for more people and might help with some people who had the mod installed already.

You know, I get that you may have burnt yourself out on moding for the game, but simply just toss everything out the window due to a limitation that the game have is kinda dumb of way of saying f*** it. There is and should be more than one way of dealing with a issue that is blocking the path. Even if its a long break. I enjoy your other mod. Fallen Heros. You gonna abandon that mod? No other updates? Keep that in mind that other people (Others can put their own words for this) Know that any form of art takes time. I'll give this mod another try with the Compressed Monsters and hope for the best that it will work for this mod. If not, then i dont know.


I didnt mean for this to sound like Im being a d***, but thats how I feel of what you said within the descrption of this mod. You gave up too easily and too quickly from what I can tell. Good luck on anything else you do. Take care.

Yea, no. I unsubscribed from the mod, following your instructions, and it ruined my save. All the quests have disappeared and now it crashes when I go to view them. A shame. It was a cool idea, but you gotta figure out a way to make it less destructive. Why does it use so much memory or whatever. I know this is a problem with mods in general, if you have too many it can crash. But I don't get why this one mod is so bad?

Well, on reloading the game, I was able to get into the dungeon hallway without crashing, so I'll keep going and see if I can at least finish this dungeon.

This mod can summon bosses, and in a very interesting way..However, I do have a question that it seems no one has asked. Is it possible you could farm Blueprints using this mod? Since it summons bosses and the bosses drop Blueprints when you kill them. I havent gotten the chance to try this yet but I love this idea, and ill be sure to let you know how it is when I boot it up for myself, thanks for all the hard work!

does it works with the thing of the stars in the same dungeon? cuz mi save is fucked up since I went to the ruins with both roaming, game crashes every time

I've released this mod Compressed Monster PNGs , which helps a TON with loading issues etc. even if you're not using roaming cultist. I highly recommend it

so if i summon whatever boss i want in an apprentice dungeon ill get that boss, but if the apprentice version of that boss doesnt exist, ill get fuked by champion level of that boss right? great mod btw!

Miller actually has an unused Apprentice version (because of how they make monsters they automatically create app/vet/champ versions for monsters with their exporter, unless if they specifically tell it not to make those versions). So you'll face a lvl 1 Miller in apprentice dungeons.

Bosses which have versions of themselves for other difficulties will scale, but ones that don't will not. This means that most if not all of the darkest level bosses have only that 1 level to fight. Sleeper and all Darkest Dungeon bosses only have the one version to fight.

Are there weaker versions of the Garden Guardian, Sleeper, and DD bosses that the cultists summon for apprentice/veteran dungeons, or do they always summon the Darkest-level version?
