it's VLL (now VLL2) and it's already included with DToyBox
as for second part, i recommend creating an issue here https://gitlab.com/DBotThePony/DBotProjects/issues

Hey Dbot, surprised you are still hanging around the scene. I still remember jumping on your bangclaw server a number of years ago when you were developing your FastDL alternative... wasn't that DLoad?

Anyway, I came to mention that whenever I make a text screen persistent, collision is re-enabled on the screen and cannot be disabled again. Could you develop a hotfix for this? Thank you.

@brober4 same. Dunno what could cause it. Do you use ULX/ULib?

There's nothing to ''learn to read'' about. And none of what I said was a bug report. I don't know why you tell me to learn to read when you brought up things that were irrelevant to what I talked about.

I would have taken up this mod if there wasn't so much hostility for the dependency and the fact that you say ''I swear it's not DLib, it's your mods!'' even if people get errors solely because they added your mod, and also how you don't seem to answer when people bring up issues with DLib or this mod that don't call back to any other mods.
It's just like the unofficial patches for Skyrim where the authors try to say ''You can't blame my mod for your issues, it just cannot be and I will not provide any support'' even though they do introduce all kinds of new issues into the game like constant crashing when even a very badly modded non-patched game would literally never crash.

ive had an issue when i spawn the text, it adds the text on top of a 2 square general prop, instead of just the floating text, any way to fix that?
Sonic 18 Aug, 2018 @ 4:54pm
Wow this is so much better than the other one, and yours doesn't reveal it's users' location.
YuRaNnNzZZ 13 Aug, 2018 @ 6:31pm
"hey im interested in what your competing addon does
why dont we take all the good things to MY version instead?"
James 13 Aug, 2018 @ 4:14pm
Hi. I'm one of the authors of the 3D2D Textscreens addon you mention in your description here.

As you've referred to the codebase as a "mess", would you be willing to perhaps contribute to open source and submit a pull request with some changes at https://github.com/Cherry/3D2D-TextScreens? There have been a lot of changes over the last few months, but I'd be very happy to take a look at some of the changes you mention here and merge them upstream for the 900k+ users currently subscribed if they make sense.

I'm specifically interested in:

- Different settings for text without a newline
- Text alignment
- Proper use of network and bytes (?)
- Proper use of render hooks (?)

Everything else you've mentioned I believe is already implemented in the addon, or has a limited use-case. Hoping to hear from you soon! :)

DLib contain them
Artificer Blondie 8 Aug, 2018 @ 2:15pm
I've notice that in the garry's mod files, Most of the fonts for this addon are apparently missing, how do I fix that?

guys dont be mean to dbotthepony just because you don't like dlib doesn't give you right to be an ass to him
DBot  [author] 3 Aug, 2018 @ 8:15pm
If i replace gmod stuff i take care that IF developer will use this stuff like described on gmod wiki, it WILL work as it was vanilla (except if it fixes known gmod bug). And DLib is proposed not as "bunch of functions" but as corelib for GLua
Bell 3 Aug, 2018 @ 10:39am
The thing you don't understand with DLib is that you mess with core GMod code, which renders stuff incompatible. If you want to optimize / change things, then simply put your shit aside the default stuff, not over.
d_k13 31 Jul, 2018 @ 1:29pm
could you please make the prop under the text no colide automatically?
that will be quite convenient in rp modes.

YuRaNnNzZZ 29 Jul, 2018 @ 8:14pm
why are you even trying to explain something to the retarded workshop user even if he still continuing to deny everything you just said lmao
clear 29 Jul, 2018 @ 8:12pm
Yeah i can see it from both sides, it is nice to not have to use the same code over and over I'm just pointing it from a server owner's perspective. I like your work and hope you continue making things :)
DBot  [author] 29 Jul, 2018 @ 8:08pm
And what's the point of library that is used by just 2-3 addons? I did DLib when i found out that i copied over same features all over 9 times already.
DBot  [author] 29 Jul, 2018 @ 8:06pm
This addon is not little (how ironic is the description, its little by my measurments) - at least 50 kb of code on it's side, and around ~40 kb on DLib's side is used directly, other code is used implicitly. Sure, DLib is big for DSit (especially after rewrite under DLib, it became even smaller), but this addon is not small. It looks small because i write fast stuff, and, DLib even speedup gmod, not slowdown it. And almost all features added by DLib are supposed to be in vanilla gmod already, but no because gmod is almost standing still in development.
clear 29 Jul, 2018 @ 7:49pm
It’s just inconvenient having to install a separate library just for something as simple as textscreens, I swapped from dsit because you made dlib a requirement. Nothing personal just a little touch I don’t like about things like this
DBot  [author] 29 Jul, 2018 @ 7:48pm
And if you would continue to blame DLib ill just leave gmod coding and will not do anything for gmod again. DLib is literally the most technically well-made addon by me outta there. None of my addons reach DLib's quality because i update DLib almost all the time i code gmod addons by adding features (if needed) and increasing speed of existing features and gmod's overall speed.

Again - if DLib breaks on your bloated gmod install - it is not my fault, it is your fault, and you should understand that if you got brains.

DLib allows me (and soon will allow anyone - documentation is WIP) to write technically better addons because of less code on addon's side and faster functions provided by DLib. If you are not sure - try DLib again, because it never stand still. And if you blame it for stuff it did 2-3 months ago - you are a caveman.
DBot  [author] 29 Jul, 2018 @ 6:56pm
I love to see blame of DLib without any (even absurd) reports where DLib break stuff.
clear 29 Jul, 2018 @ 3:50pm
I would use this if DLib wasn't required
DBot  [author] 29 Jul, 2018 @ 2:49pm
I think i will make any addon be dlib based, it make fear all workshop hamsters for no reasons.
RatBoggles 29 Jul, 2018 @ 12:17pm
I knew this was too good to be true, Good thing I read it before installing (DLib is a no no)
Addon still looks great though!
