Thanks for the mod. Figured I'd ask (completely understand its been years since you've probably looked at this, so even if you read it, don't feel obligated to reply lol), but, how exactly did you make the "show bindings" portion display? I was thinking of trying to modify the controller layout a bit, but I figured it'd be pretty helpful if I could show the bindings in game like this mod does it.

I have this weird issue where I can tell this works, but my mouse cursor is not centered on the screen. This makes it impossible to really move. Basically, what can I do to make the cursor centered on my character?

@Adrian Pimento Yes, I am successfully using this mod in my game and it wasn't that difficult to setup (PC and XBox controller)

i tried it and idk if i did something wrong or not but i couldnt get it to work for me idk if something changed or if its me if you can test it and let me know if it still works id appreciate it

In case anyone else encounters this, here's how I got it:

1) Ensure the Xbox 360 controller is connected and enabled in Steam:
- "Steam" menu tab
- Settings
- Controller
- "General Controller Settings" button

Make sure "XBox Configuration Support" is check-marked in the list.
Your controller should be listed under the "Detected Controllers" field.

2) Find and apply Aherin's controller profile:
- Open Big Picture Mode (icon in the upper right, or, under the "View" menu tab)
- Library
- Select "Torchlight 2"
- In the left-side menu, select "Manage Game"
- Select "Controller Configuration"
- Next screen shows your controller. At the bottom, click "Browse Configs"
- Select "Community" category
- Find and select Aherin's configuration called: "TL2 Universal Binding (Xbox 360 Controller)"
- Click "Apply Configuration"
- Done!

@Hatchet_Jack: Sorry you're having trouble man. I haven't updated this mod in a long time now. There could be info in the description that's probably not valid anymore after steam has been updated.

Is there a place in the controller configs section to paste that link? I got it to work if I posted the link in a regular google search (not in big picture) but then I couldn't do anything with it. Try having your controller connected and it might work,

In the instructions, it says:

"You will need this controller profile to make it work (Updated 6/9/18):

But I'm having some trouble here. I can open Big Picture and navigate to the web browsing icon. It then asks to select between Google, Youtube, etc. I assume Google is the correct choice, as its the only option that is a search engine. When I paste the link into the address bar and try to use it, nothing happens.

I noticed that among the Tochlight II community controller configurations, there is one that was prepared by you for an alternative Xbox 360 controller configuration. Is that what the link is trying to point to?

I haven't touched this mod or anything to do with TL2 in a few years so I'm pretty rusty but I can try to help if you give me more details..

Im using a xbox 360 gamepad and its not working for me. Im disapointed because torchlight 2 is my favorite dungeon crawler

@MestreeBR, it still works fine if you apply the steam controller profile to an Xbox one controller. The only difference is that the button icons wouldn't look the same. It's not a big enough deal to remake it specifically for Xbox one I'm a afraid

Hmm, the more mods you have, the more likely it's going to muck things up. Did you properly set the steam controller profile that I linked in the description? Also make sure that you have set key bindings to default in the game settings. This will ensure everything syncs up with the steam profile, the game keybinds and the ui I've made.

Maybe just give me a list of all your mods just in case as well.
If it's something to do with steam and your third party controller, there's nothing much I can do.

I am having trouble with the keybindings. I can only move up down and right with my character always pulling to diagonal between down and right when my joystick is in neutral. The shift button is not working to bring up the skill tab as well. I am using other mods Synergy is the biggest. The rest are additional classes creatures and enhanced character creating or loot drop mechanics. If the complete list of mods would help let me know. And i am using a third party xbox 360 controller the company is Power A. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. And thank you for all the work you put into a mod for controller use. I was raised a console kid and am not used to the keyboard and mouse. But i love steam in general and especially due to the mod community.

Lots of reasons why it might not work for you bro. I'll try to help you but I need more info.

Most likely is a mod conflict. What other mods are you using? What aspect is not working? The UI is not displaying properly, or are the keybinds not working? Something else?

It's obviously not designed for a PS2 controller, so the button layouts in the ui won't match. But it should technically 'work' on any controller as long as steam is able to recognize it. Try applying the profile I've linked in the mod description and see what happens...

Hi, yes it should work fine with Xbox one controller. You'll have to still assign the controller profile in the description. It'll need to be turned on and plugged in and then you should be able to force steam to use my custom profile.

*Made it so the player can't use skills (but is also invunerable) when the wayportal menus are open. This will stop the player using skills bound to x and y when using the quick keys. (At the moment this only works for single player. I can make it for mp too but I'd need people to help me test it.)

@Steeller_MRG what is the problem you're having exactly? Are you trying to run it without using the steam controller profile?

*Updated screenshots to reflect latest tweaks

*Made the buff borders a bit duller to differentiate from active skill border.

*Added a gold border to player buff icons so you can tell them apart from the skill icons better. I've found in the heat of battle, looking down there can be confusing with cooldown and effect timers of the same skill running right next to each other.

*Hey guys I also updated the controller profile as well. Sometimes the skills on the right stick weren't firing all the time. I widened the button radius. It should work better now.

You'll need to recopy the link and apply it for it to update.

*Fixed (I think!) an issue where sometimes the settings menu would show after you quit to main menu

Thanks for your support man. I'm pretty happy with the steam controller layout, but I'd say this Xbox one needs some more tweaking. I'd rather not use the right stick for skills and have it just for moving the mouse. My problem is partly that my Xbox controller is old and a bit crappy. If Anyone has any ideas for controller schemes and can help me test that'd be very helpful!

I subscribed and rated. Will not try the game if your mod's not 100% finished and perfect from your point of view. I would like to 100% Torchlight II, but can't do it if I'm missing a well designed controller scheme.

Any more feedback on the control scheme or menus? I'm close to finishing my updates to this mod unless something big comes up ;)

*Darkened the button icons slightly so they fit in with the theme better. Also found a bug where the game would sometimes auto-resume for some reason.

*Fixed a display issue with the xp bar not extending all the way along the belt when full.

*Slightly altered the charge bars and belt positions so they are consistent and not clipped.

*Increased the size of the skill icons in the bind menu so that long cooldowns display properly.

Ok made a separate magic waypoint portal scroll which is only sold in vendors with infinite uses.

I'll probably tweak it a bit more so that the waypoint scroll can only be found from vendors. I had to make it only stack to one for infinite uses to work. Right now it'll take up so much space if you accidently pick up more!

*Update to fix townportal and potion of insight menu spam
So in order to fix the potion of insight menu (LT+>dpad) from being to fiddly I changed the button press on the controller profile. Copy the new link to update.

The portal scroll spam was harder to fix because the stick didn't do anything when I tried to change the type of button press.

SO from now on, Waypoint Portal scrolls are infinite :D Just need one from now on!

Nice mod. I was originaly using "desktop configuration" to use my xbox one controller.
You're mod is much better and a lot easier.

*Noticed that sometimes town portals (and the potion of insight menu) trigger too many times which chews up your scrolls! Sorry about that. I'm working on a fix for this, but changing the button press type on the control setup hasn't worked. I'll maybe have to try and change how the scroll itself triggers to fix it. You might want to swap from skill to one of the main buttons for the time being off you're finding this annoying..

Ohhhh i figured out! My controller has 2 options PS4 mode and Xbox mode. I change it to xbox mode and worked :D sorry my bad :D
