Does this still work on besieging armies? I know you updated it saying there is a fix by CA but I still got ambushed by an external skaven army even though I was besieging a settlement.

1) Mod works (Increases from 75% to 100%).
2) Mod works with "Radius"
3) If you want your mod to be more popular, then I recommend renaming it to something similar to "Encamp: abush defense stanse + 100%"

I think it's the same yes, there's a tickbox like "Do standard stance trigger ambushes" for each faction, and it's ticked for skavens and alith anar.

I'm quite satisfied with the change, I'll mark this mod as obsolete and make another one if I want to make other changes about ambushes.

Stalk Stance now reduces Ambush Success Chance by 15%
This does not affect the Beastman equivalent
Various stances will now affect Ambush Defence Chance
Forced March: -25%
Besieging: +100%
Underway/Worldroots/Beastpaths: +25%
Encampment Stance: +75%

so.. does NOT effect alithanar or beastmen 'ambush on attack' penalty... Might be worth you keeping the mod around with +25% more on encamp? (or keeping the flat 100%)

Patch notes say 100% to siege, 75% to encamp.. AND being in stalking stance reduces the skaven success chance by.. I think it said 15%, might have been 25%.

Either way, thats close enough to 100% in encamp for my take.

Great news, a bit late tho, they said they would fix it more than 2 years ago, and it's litteraly like 10 lines to edit.

Can someone onfirm that they added it to both encamp and siege stance ? And which values they have used.

If they added it only to siege camps I'll edit this mod to work with encamp stances only. If they cover everything I modified, I'll mark it as obsolete.

What about channeling stance and raiding stance? Or does it apply to only encamp stance? (Not every race can get into encamp stance.)

Sorry my bad. I'm also modding Paradox games so here's that.

CA's launcher is still bad and can randomly break mods.

Use the Kaedrin Mod Manager [github.com] instead.

@Jeslis Alright to I loaded up a earlier save from before I downloaded this mod, checked and sure enough encamped stance gives 100% ambush block chance...so the mod was active despite the game not admitting that. Well, I guess I'll just start over from that save then...thanks for the help

@Vitamin; I can tell you that its still working in my campaigns, so you must be experience a mod conflict.

Steps to try: load ONLY this mod, create a new campaign, see if encamping tooltip displays the +100% ambush defence chance.

If that works....
.. Then obviously the mod is loading fine, and something else must be occuring.

If it DOESNT work, then try unsubscribing and resubscribing... and maybe a steam verify integrity.

It seems that the mod just doesn't load into the game for some reason? Doesn't matter if loaded with other mods or just by itself, The game doesn't seem to recognize it as having been activated, and as a result I can't load into a campaign that I've gotten pretty far on.

@Mightfo there is a mod to remove lightning strikes and replace it with a small buff to campaign movement speed.

I don't think so, at least not without scripting which is hard to do and maintain.

If you want a rule of thumb : moving existing effects anywhere is simple (like here, when I saw the ambush defense chance on Lizardmen stance, I simply pasted it on all other camp stances)

On the other hand creating entirely new ones takes more work or is impossible due to TW engine. And AFAIK there isn't any way of preventing lightning strikes in the base game with a skill or whatnot.

The statement in the description is still valid. Even severly outdated, this mod won't break anything. The effects won't apply to new stances though, but again it will be perfectly playable.

I'll patch it next time I play TWWH.

About the other comments, I'll look at the underground stances.

Does this mod work for the various underground stances as well? As silly as it is to ambush a fort, or ambush the people actively besieging you; ambushing people in the overworld, while they're explicitly underground, is pretty ludicrous as well.

It would be possible to add action defence chance to the encamp & laying siege stances.
But that would also applies to bots, and would reduce any action success chance against the whole army (assassinate, wound, but also damage units and reduce movement range).

Depends of the mod, if they use the default encamp bonuses, then yes. But modding stances can be tricky if you want to install that along other overhauls like SFO

About DE, this mod was made to remove situations where your army is getting ambushed while stationary. Since DE features an aggressive playstyle and don't have the encamp stance I don't see why I would mod that.

I'm fairly sure there's mods that prevents bots from doing attack ambushes. If that (crappy) mechanic annoy you, you can simply remove it from the game.

Any thoughts on a way to get some defense for Dark elves from ambush? They don't get an encamp; Just ambush/raid.. and a weird regeneration stance that doesn't work if corruption is present.

Just a note; it does not appear to be working for Chaos encamp stance either atm. I do not know if that is a 'due to this most recent patch' or if it was never added to chaos before.

Love the mod idea, but Greenskins don't get the ambush defense chance in the raiding camp. Is it possible to add that?

I could do that, but it may not be to everyone's taste. I'll see that in my next campaign, but I'm not playing TWWH right now

And 50% defense is almost the same as 100%. If any "ambush attacker" has 30% ambush chance, then 30% defense will completely counter it. And bots very rarely go over 50% ambush attack chance.

@heavystorm Sadly, Dark Elves don't have any special stance so if I add some bonus to their ambush stance for example, all factions will recieve that buff.
