so i had a thought, and i might be wrong, but do the ai, get a different settler mid game? cause for most of the game they wont make them, but then it feels like at an era, they can produce them. ill watch more in to it and keep an eye on it. but i feel like it may be a different settler then the normal one.

I used this mod in the last 3 games and worked will, in the new game i play agaist Nubia, startet in age Classic, and now they spam cities all over the map.

Any chance for fix ?
Soloquendi 8 May, 2021 @ 2:07pm
Same issue. Works for a while, then they start building settlers again.

Does this mod still work? Does it work with GS?

yeah I am having the same problem as Ratchet&Clank. it seams to happen after turn 200. I am going to set up another game just running the Let's Play Tall mod by it self and see if it does the same thing.
Ratchet&Clank 18 Jun, 2020 @ 7:46am
Is this mod bugged? I've seen ai building 7 cities while it should be restricted to 2
Dayvit78 5 Jun, 2020 @ 11:21pm
Have you ever had the situation where it worked early game, but late game AI are now building settlers again (after having reached the maximum)? I've noticed it particular for AI Zulu and Scythia -maybe they get free settlers? But now I see even Russia has a settler in production in one of its cities.
Soloquendi 28 May, 2020 @ 3:14pm
It's working again now since a small patch from 2k went out a day or so ago. It also reset my settings though, like I had just bought the game. lol Anyways I'm playing it now just fine without Rise and Fall. This and Starting Scout are the only mods I use and are the two best on the workshop IMO. Thanks.
Magge  [author] 28 May, 2020 @ 2:14pm
@Soloquendi: There has been no change. Maybe some other mod you're using is breaking functionality of Let's Play Tall?
Soloquendi 27 May, 2020 @ 2:13pm
This was working fine til today, and I don't have Rise and Fall but Gathering Storm. What happened?

I was just playing a game on emperor, dual map, ten civs (yeeeey), and settlers disabled. I also used a mod that AI doesn't get a bonus settler on emperor. Now, around the renaissance the AI starts building settlers like mad again. : /
Immediately makes the epic war I just defended myself against (Ottoman, Khmer, Poland and Canada all piling up on me, with a 1200, 800, 900, 800, combat strength versus my 600) a lot less victorious.

why Computers can ignore modules, make immigrant
Delight 6 Aug, 2019 @ 6:04pm
为什么开启了模组以后,AI还是可以疯狂的造移民。(我设置的无开拓者)
iku88 28 Jul, 2019 @ 12:38pm
This is really closed to my thought. Thank you for your effort!
How about adding a new settler if the new generation has come?
Dayvit78 20 Jul, 2019 @ 3:30am
This mod is really great for my playstyle. The AI still builds cities too close, but it's good enough. I'm wondering if there is a mod that unlocks 1 new settler with each era (tie with Civics for example). That may allow the AI to build a new city after their current one has expanded a bit.
Magge  [author] 4 Jul, 2019 @ 11:51am
@G-Fiti: Thanks for your feedback. Then it's surely the same BINARYGOD and Glemt have been reporting. Maybe something changed since Gathering Storm. I definitely have to look into it. :-/
G-Fiti 4 Jul, 2019 @ 5:32am
@Magge Nope, I was playing on default difficulty. The towns didn't even show up untill later in the game. Look how big the capitals already got.
Magge  [author] 3 Jul, 2019 @ 11:29pm
@G-Fiti: I guess you are playing on higher difficulty, am I correct? In higer difficulties, the AI gets two or three Settlers from the start. The mod only limits settler training and purchasing. Also it's possible that one AI catches a settler from another one to get more cities.

Your problem in turn 326 on the other hand might be the same like BINARYGOD's and Glemt's.
Magge  [author] 3 Jul, 2019 @ 11:24pm
@BINARYGOD & Glemt: I actually had that problem, too. I'm not sure, but I guess it has something to do with dark ages. I once was able to train settlers again after being in a dark age myself. I will have a look into it. Thanks.

PS: Statue of Liberty has been changed in Gathering Storm. It gave two Settlers in Rise and Fall, but not in Gathering Storm. And also no two Settlers in Vanilla btw.
Magge  [author] 3 Jul, 2019 @ 11:14pm
@Potatobig: Yes, every civ has the restrictions as well as the bonuses.
Magge  [author] 3 Jul, 2019 @ 11:13pm
@Skyll Bilde: Unfortunatelly that's not possible. Rise and Fall is required because it provides the mechanic which let's you restrict settler training.
G-Fiti 28 Jun, 2019 @ 7:15pm
To add to my earlier comment: https://i.gyazo.com/2f5af98cdb0d2a4be4b6e6340a78a03f.jpg (turn 326), im way ahead of everyone in tec/civic, but for some reason the AI aparently can get settlers again ._.
G-Fiti 28 Jun, 2019 @ 7:02pm
Are you sure this still works 100%? I set it to no settlers and 2 civs managed to get additonal cities somehow. Another civ got 3 additional towns for some reason...
Glemt 24 Jun, 2019 @ 1:13am
Quote BINARYGOD "In my latest game where I actually played long enough to get a win (Historic Era's - love it, but man can it make a game take longer than I care to play it sometimes), I noticed after a while that AI civs were back to city spam - like something happened and they could make Settlers again even though I could not. It was pretty far in the game, about somewhere between half way through the tech tree and 2/3 of the way. Not sure what caused it."

I have exactly the same problem : /
Also, Statue of Liberty didn't award any settlers : (
Traveler 5 Jun, 2019 @ 3:31am
Could you make a mod that does the same thing for traders? There are to many and they make so much money that the late game gets dull when you/ai can buy anything every turn.

Does the mod work on AI? In my last game AI's cities are small and lack of population
VukasinDordevic 7 May, 2019 @ 2:40pm
I like the idea of this mod. Can you make that just the borders of cities are more than default of the game?
Punished Jeff 4 May, 2019 @ 5:49pm
Can you make a version of this that doesn't require DLC? Please?
Magge  [author] 23 Mar, 2019 @ 5:15am
@turkadactyl: Thank you so much. I'm happy you enjoy it.

As the Firaxis developers announced a huge update for the modding tools "soon" in a livestream before the launch of Gathering Storm, I hope it will be a release of the game DLLs. This would make modding (and debugging) much more easy and I already plan a full and bigger relaunch of this mod, including complexer rulesets available. So stay tuned. :-)
turkadactyl 23 Mar, 2019 @ 3:48am
Really enjoy this mod - makes the AI city spam much more manageable. Thank you for making it!

I know you said it hasn't been tested in multiplayer, so not so much expecting an update/fix as just letting you know of a small issue. On some maps in multiplayer (seen it specifically on huge Archipelago and Shuffle), some AI civs are able to bypass the limit partway through the game. This is specifically purchasing/producing additional settlers (not capturing/free from villages/etc.) even while the national wonder is still in place. It's been pretty inconsistent (never seen it on TSL Earth and the civs able to do it vary), so I'm not even sure it's an issue attached to this mod, but it does affect its usage.

Again, great mod - makes general play as well as larger maps with lots of civs much more enjoyable!
SkyRio 24 Feb, 2019 @ 2:45am
After you install your mod, the game ends after I score 50 points of faith. Did anyone have such problems?
Athena 23 Feb, 2019 @ 10:28am
@magge thats to bad, thanks anyways!
Dr. Honk 23 Feb, 2019 @ 3:33am
You solved this issue in the worst way thinkable. Why not instead add more incentive to make tall more viable through population yields? Can this not be done with mods?
Magge  [author] 23 Feb, 2019 @ 2:11am
@Apollo: Unfortunatelly that's not possible. Rise and Fall is required because it provides the mechanic which let's you restrict settler training.
Athena 22 Feb, 2019 @ 2:25pm
could you make a version for civ 6 with no dlc dependence
BINARYGOD 20 Feb, 2019 @ 12:59pm
More expensive settlers will solve nothing, it will just push that whole "AI has now literally covered that entire continent in cities" thing to a further point in the game (perhaps if you never get past turn X it could work). Or the person making the mod would have the cost escalate in such a manner to effectively have a hard limit anyway (depending on what resource/cost is being increased).
黑狗与黑猫 19 Feb, 2019 @ 10:13pm
Thank you. I really need this. I hate the AI for messing around with the city.
lechuck1 18 Feb, 2019 @ 6:15am
awesome thx!

"Let's Play Tall" is now compatible with Gathering Storm.

thank you:steamhappy:
XUCABOA 3 Feb, 2019 @ 2:27pm
I've played a lot with this enabled. Never had any problems with any other mod compatibility. Really missed having the one-city challenge. Leh YT has a good idea with more expensive settlers, but this is still a solid mod.

I had fun with a "Settlers Disabled" 62 player ynamp map. Set a nice cap on number of cities and loyalty really mattered when conquering. If I played the same game without the mod, it would probably have taken 10 minutes to cycle through each turn in the late game.
