They're not supposed to go on cars' license plates, they're supposed to go on SProps' license plate models.

basically i found the props etc i tried to put on materials but it didnt work even if i tried on some that actually worked before

Alright. There should be a list of SProp props on the left side of the spawn menu; the plate model is under "Transportation".

You can use these textures with SProps' US license plate model as I said, & then that model in turn you can put on any vehicle.

Not on any vehicle, but you CAN use them with SProps' US license plate model (the square one) & then put THAT model on any vehicle.

I would make one for just about every province, state, & country in the world...if they wouldn't be limited to one number combination per plate. If someone would just make a license plate addon that allowed you to set the plate number, I'd probably make them for that.

Just about, been considering adding all the other famous license plates I know even if that vehicle doesn't currently exist for Gmod, just in case someone wanted to reference said vehicle in a Gmod video or otherwise have the plate for use.

Like I said, I'd probably make one for every state and country in the world if I didn't have to either make the plate blank or make every plate have the same letter/number combination. This addon is mostly for license plates of famous vehicles that have a preset license plate number that never changes.

Trust me, I'd add plates from every state and country out there...if SProps just included a separate model for the numbers. No point in making blank plates or a plate for one state that always has the same number on it right?

Indeed, I'm planning on releasing a ton more of these so-called "Material/Submaterial Tool-Applied Textures/Skins" in order to get around the limited (or even lack of) skin slots for whatever I'm making retextures of. Good luck on getting it to work, I hope it does eventually

I'm a little confused on how to apply the textures to the license plate, I click on the texture and the material gun comes out, but nothing happens when I shoot the plate. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?
