Lothar doesn't carry the wand so I used the book's debug mode to spawn it. When I use the wand it doesn't change the name?

@LaughingLeader - lol ok, so I was able to change my name by going to the Fort joy respec mirror and changing my name there even though my character is a Origin character. Nice!

@LaughingLeader - okay I realized I can summon the wand from the book that Lothar sells. But, after attempting to change my name, my name in fact does Not change. My current character is Red prince but I'm trying to change it to something else.

Hey @LaughingLeader - the renaming wizard doesn't pop up for me when I trade with Lothar. Any advice on that?

Hey, is there any easy way to add functionality for renaming bags once they're placed on the ground? Similar to the exact way you do it to NPCS/Characters.

im having the same problem, Lothar doesn't have the wand

Hey @LaughingLeader not sure if this was an issue before but for some reason Lothar doesn't carry the Wand anymore. I also looked in the mod menu book but the only option to rename is the equipment bags.

Hey @LaughingLeader - wanted to see if you'd run into this one yet. Now suddenly I cannot rename any of the companion characters, only NPC and such. It had worked for me previously but now I cannot rename any companions following me. Do they need to be unrecruited for some reason?

@LoneStarRhino34 I did notice that custom names reset in the respec mirror. They may also reset when changing levels.

In the latest update today I added some additional safeguards to try and preserve names after the level changes, so that should help.

Glad you're enjoying the mod! Thanks for the feedback :praisesun:

@LaughingLeader - it wasn't an sort of Story point as far as I can tell. I renamed them in the Arena, and then ran around Fort Joy for awhile and then just noticed they'd reset. I did reload the save and try it again and haven't encountered anything since tho! Love the mod, thanks again for it :) Really enjoying naming my dog companion haha.

@LoneStarRhino34 Sorry for the late response. When did they reset? It may be that the game reverts custom names at some point (like the character transforming, specific level changes, etc).

Anyone else having issues with the names resetting eventually? I renamed Beast and Ifan and it all worked fine - but now they've reset for some reason. Thanks in advance!

Can I use this to rename backpacks instead of characters?

@Kalavinka Haha, thanks Kala! Clearly the sole purpose of this mod was to unlock the true name of everyone's beloved pets.
Kalavinka 3 sep, 2018 @ 15:03
Literally the best modder. 10/10 would rename a dog Barkus Rex again.

ahh was hoping to make my inv more organized and such, thanks for the info though.

I wish! Unfortunately, there's no way to rename items with scripting. It's been a request to Larian for a while now, as that would allow some really cool things to be done (like renaming your favorite weapon).
