Could you add compatibility with Vanilla Mechanoids Expanded to add automated chocolate production machines?
Dredphyre 20 Oct, 2020 @ 7:33pm
ok, so hear me out....craftable box of chocolates which can be given as gifts to significant others (lovers, spouses). Could use the 'operations' tab to assign a bill to the receiving pawn which is fulfilled by checking the relationship status of the giving pawn. The gift would provide a boost to the relationship opinion number buy some amount.

Will this be receiving an update to 1.1?
LoggerC4 20 Dec, 2019 @ 1:48pm
Same bug here as Other_Olly too
Other_Olly 12 Jul, 2019 @ 12:30am
(When there is chocolate on my map, hauling work givers spit out errors about "object reference not set to an instance of an object.")
Other_Olly 12 Jul, 2019 @ 12:04am
I'm having a problem where milk chocolate shows up in stockpile menus, but chocolate doesn't. I'm not sure what mod is causing it. Anybody have insights?
Mr-Bandit 6 Mar, 2019 @ 3:37am
@CrunchyDuck - thanks but i like only having 1 type of wood, what i would really like is not having to continuously replant the cacao trees because it makes little sense
CrunchyDuck  [author] 6 Mar, 2019 @ 1:47am
@Mr-Bandit A mod that might interest you, and one I personally use, is Expanded Woodworking
Namely because it adds in cocoa trees giving wood when harvested. It also makes each wood it's own "type" of wood, meaning you can have a much larger variety of colours and the like.
pgames-food 6 Mar, 2019 @ 1:05am
mr bandit, are you asking for wood :) hehe -joke
Mr-Bandit 2 Mar, 2019 @ 9:18pm
suggestion: change the way the cacao trees work so they do not get chopped down when harvested - just set back to 60% or so growth like berries bushes do. it seems dumb to cut down the whole tree every time - and it's a tree and you don't even get any wood from it!!
CrunchyDuck  [author] 1 Mar, 2019 @ 4:37pm
Oh, of course! I'm glad you like my work. Thank you for the patch!
Penultimate_Jive 1 Mar, 2019 @ 4:16pm
Hey, love the mod my dude :SBpenguin::balloon:

I made a patch for my mod Soybeans so the milk produced in my mod can make chocolate with your mod :2017meatball:. I was just wondering if you could add a little tag in your description saying our mods work together or something like that. Cheers :steamhappy:
pgames-food 4 Feb, 2019 @ 6:48pm
oh ok, thanks for the info :)
CrunchyDuck  [author] 3 Feb, 2019 @ 11:11pm
From what I know, it shouldn't impact that mod at all.
This directly touches the cocoa trees, and changes their resource in to something different. The bunbuns mod will likely just keep producing what it normally produces.
If you do find an error though, please let me know, and I'll fix it right away.
pgames-food 3 Feb, 2019 @ 7:23pm
hi do you know if this will work with the "Chocolate" BunBuns mod? (that one adds bunny animals which make you 1 chocolate every few days.)
Flesh Forge 12 Nov, 2018 @ 8:07am
Thanks for this, the vanilla chocolate production cycle is kind of dumb \o/
jpinard 4 Nov, 2018 @ 8:36am
Cool thanks!
CrunchyDuck  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 8:20am
Should hopefully; The only thing this really changes right now is adding an intermediary between harvest and usability. The final product is untouched.
jpinard 4 Nov, 2018 @ 8:17am
WIll this work OK with the Coffee, Tea, and Hot Chocolate mod?
CrunchyDuck  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 6:04pm
You'll likely get a bunch of def errors, which could cause a few issues.
You can remove them from your map in the dev console, using the "destroy tool"
Be careful not to click "destroy all on map"
Cat_Herder 20 Oct, 2018 @ 9:45pm
Ty for update
CrunchyDuck  [author] 20 Oct, 2018 @ 3:14am
I'll work on it right away.
Agaros007 18 Oct, 2018 @ 3:04am
can you update the mod pls? :) thanks
SBlack 18 Sep, 2018 @ 8:00am
There is a fermenting helper mod that might be helpful:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=955850576

That said, making production too complicated might annoy most people. Especially given the relatively small payoff for the work
CrunchyDuck  [author] 17 Sep, 2018 @ 10:59am
I'm glad there's people who want it!
I'm working hard on trying to teach myself enough C# to be able to code such things. I plan on having a toggleable "hard mode" for those who're so inclined, that requires you to ferment the beans, all products have a bit of waste, etc. Hopefully I can implement such a thing soon! Till then, I hope you enjoy what I've currently added.
Rook 17 Sep, 2018 @ 10:55am
Nice, I always found it odd you could pick chocolate right off the tree.
Now, if you do make it more elaborate (adding nibs, adding fermentation...), it would be REALLY great if you added mod options like you suggested. That way, I can see this becoming the ultimate chocolate mod before long, with players able to choose how complicated they want to play it. :)
Trainman 16 Sep, 2018 @ 12:20am
In response to SteveS, why not use the in game fermenting barrels for that process?
CrunchyDuck  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 11:40am
A future plan I do have could include that.
I wish to add in mod options to switch between a sort of more "hardcore" chocolate production, and to allow in game modification of recipes, stats, etc. But that's maybe a few weeks away, at best.
SBlack 14 Sep, 2018 @ 11:18am
Thank you. Much needed.

If you wanted it to be perfectly realistic, beans would need to be fermented (they are just too bitter). But some simplification is fine. As long as you don't harvest chocolate directly from the tree I'm good
CrunchyDuck  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 11:01am
Rolled out a change to the production of milk chocolate. Hope it's a bit better now!
CrunchyDuck  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 10:38am
I had considered instead requiring a little less milk, but producing the same amount, or more, milk chocolate that it currently produces. I think it'd make sense for it to be valued at slightly less than normal chocolate, however, as it can be produced in much larger quantities. I'll look in to reviewing the value based on the cost of milk, though.
kimmin26 14 Sep, 2018 @ 10:32am
I think we should raise the value of milk chocolate a little bit. use eight more milk, but the price is the same.
CrunchyDuck  [author] 14 Sep, 2018 @ 8:59am
Milk chocolate production's out. Enjoy~
ric 14 Sep, 2018 @ 3:57am
Not all chocolate is milk chocolate but yeah good mod.
Voymir Griffitz 14 Sep, 2018 @ 3:37am
MMMmmmm ^^ Delicious...
Sikiil 14 Sep, 2018 @ 2:59am
Need milk into based recipe please
XeoNovaDan 13 Sep, 2018 @ 10:46pm
It always seemed odd that chocolate literally grew on trees. Thanks!
CrunchyDuck  [author] 13 Sep, 2018 @ 8:38pm
I'll look in to making cacao nibs soon. It's 5AM right now, so I need a nap :)
Cat_Herder 13 Sep, 2018 @ 8:34pm
Pls gib tastee cacao nibs
CrunchyDuck  [author] 13 Sep, 2018 @ 8:25pm
I did consider a milk based recipe, but figured it might be too demanding to make in a large quantity. If my knowledge of modding expands, I'll absolutely add this as a Hugslib mod option though!
apadilla124us 13 Sep, 2018 @ 8:16pm
Should be milk+ cacao ;)
