I've been using this mod along with Hearthfire multiple adoptions - Now with custom home support for kids and spouse and Improved adoptions from nexus here
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29249
and
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73844
without any issues with this mod loaded after them in load order.
Once the files are together in a zipped or rar file you can unsubscribe the mod from the steam workshop, then place the zipped file into the download directory of the mod manager you use or click on the add mod from file option if you're using NMM or MO and go to where the zipped file is. However if you are using MO you should move the file to MO's download folder as unlike NMM, MO does not copy the file from it's original location to it's download folder, it merely installs it immediately, so if you you ever uninstall it and decide later you want to re-install you'll have to go find it's original location again, which albeit should be in Skyrim's data directory anyhow.
Unfortunately doing it this way means you'll have to do this whenever you want to update the mod but gives you full control using your mod manager.
I also use a mod manager. Simplest way is to subscribe to this mod. Start you're game with launcher so that it downloads it. Once downloaded go to your Skyrim Data folder (usually found under C:\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim unless you installed steam someplace else. I have mine on my D: drive so for me it's D:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim)
zip up the 2 files for this mod MarriageMod - HF.esp and MarriageMod - HF.bsa together with a program like 7zip, winrar, etc.

BTW, who in their right mind would upload their mods to Steam? Nexus is the King of hosting mods and gives the users maximum control.
PS:this part should be posted here last year, but sth. happened so we Chinese had to use
VPN to come here.
Thanks
I obtained permission from joeThinkStudios to adopt the mod and have uploaded what I have at the moment on the nexus for SSE. Feel free to give it a look see, and contact me there. At this time I will not be updating or fixing the mod for either version of Skyrim, but that will come in time.

I've also noticed that I am still unable to get the marriage dialog even after uninstalling the marriege mod and adapter.
Is there even a way to restore things back to vanilla marriage?
Now I know why my spouse never came to Lakeview!!! #§%&~~
After a couple of tries I gave up and threw out the really lovely mod "To Have and To Hold".
Now I’m starting a fresh game and have installed both. As soon as I have news I let you know!
It may take a while ;-)
Unsubscribing doesn't remove the mod from your game, you should also uncheck it in the launcher, and/or delete its files from Skyrim/data. Just for information. Removing Adapter now is unlikely to fix things.
If there is no known fix to my issue, is it possible to at least undo this adapter change? When I unsubscribed it didn't seem to stop the change.
it bugs out say i cant get marred agin
wen you say you want a devorce
