Should revise to say it doesn't DL for Skyrim: SE

Subscribed and there is nothing to download. Makes the Mod useless.

I've been using this mod along with Hearthfire multiple adoptions - Now with custom home support for kids and spouse and Improved adoptions from nexus here

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29249
and
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73844

without any issues with this mod loaded after them in load order.

Once the files are together in a zipped or rar file you can unsubscribe the mod from the steam workshop, then place the zipped file into the download directory of the mod manager you use or click on the add mod from file option if you're using NMM or MO and go to where the zipped file is. However if you are using MO you should move the file to MO's download folder as unlike NMM, MO does not copy the file from it's original location to it's download folder, it merely installs it immediately, so if you you ever uninstall it and decide later you want to re-install you'll have to go find it's original location again, which albeit should be in Skyrim's data directory anyhow.

Unfortunately doing it this way means you'll have to do this whenever you want to update the mod but gives you full control using your mod manager.

I also use a mod manager. Simplest way is to subscribe to this mod. Start you're game with launcher so that it downloads it. Once downloaded go to your Skyrim Data folder (usually found under C:\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim unless you installed steam someplace else. I have mine on my D: drive so for me it's D:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim)
zip up the 2 files for this mod MarriageMod - HF.esp and MarriageMod - HF.bsa together with a program like 7zip, winrar, etc.

Does this work with the multiple adoptions mod too?
SuwinTzi 3 Sep, 2018 @ 9:18pm
So how do I use this patch if I'm using a mod manager?
danielsfamily777 18 May, 2018 @ 5:28pm
I think this patch only allows your spouse to live in one of your Hearthfire homes. You can do this without this mod by using My Home is Your Home....and it's on Nexus.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18045/

BTW, who in their right mind would upload their mods to Steam? Nexus is the King of hosting mods and gives the users maximum control.
Sturm Krahe 2 Apr, 2018 @ 7:16pm
This really needs to be on the Nexus, the workshop is a terrible place for a game like Skyrim.
ThursDayCrow 24 Mar, 2018 @ 5:32pm
Thank you for telling me of that,it' s really helpful
ilhe  [author] 24 Mar, 2018 @ 12:32pm
Tenko Kuugen Thanks :) Yes, please translate it. I saw you asked the same thing in the base mod's page as well, but the original author wasn't answering any questions in the comments, and as far as I know they have granted permissions to [TAW] AuroraPhoenix44 to develop "Marriage Mod - To Have & To Hold" further and spread it. When I last heard from AuroraPhoenix44 they were not making much progress due to circumstance, but maybe you could contact them anyway, just in case...
ThursDayCrow 24 Mar, 2018 @ 5:01am
Such good mod,and I'm so stupid to realize I should ask for your permission first, then translated this into Chinese.So...could I get it?

PS:this part should be posted here last year, but sth. happened so we Chinese had to use
VPN to come here.
Scion Dracos 21 Oct, 2017 @ 9:53pm
So I trust steam about as much as I do congress. I'd rather download and control the mod on my end. Can anyone tell me exactly what files this patch consists of? Is it more than just the *.esp and *.bsa?

Thanks
Paul 8 Sep, 2017 @ 5:33pm
Where is the download button?
Krytern 4 Jul, 2017 @ 6:38am
Such a shame this isn't on the Nexus. Using the Steam Workshop takes away the ability for me to manage my mods, which version of them are installed, etc. Such a bad idea to only host on Steam Workshop.
AuroraPhoenix44 11 Mar, 2017 @ 9:31am
I thought I would update this here, for easy reference.

I obtained permission from joeThinkStudios to adopt the mod and have uploaded what I have at the moment on the nexus for SSE. Feel free to give it a look see, and contact me there. At this time I will not be updating or fixing the mod for either version of Skyrim, but that will come in time.

Does anybody know of a way to acquire the source scripts for the original mod? As I'm running into trouble with the outfit system and would like to remedy it myself, but after brushing through it in the CK, it doesn't seem to be doable without the source scripts.
ilhe  [author] 27 Feb, 2017 @ 12:14pm
Basically my stance here is - do as JoeThinkStudios tells. He never replied to any of my posts on his page for Marriage Mod - To Have & To Hold, and I didn't know how to contact him by other means. I kept Adapter Steam Workshop only because the original mod was Steam Workshop only. Since then I saw the original Marriage Mod - To Have & To Hold posted on Nexus by another person, who said they have permission from JoeThinkStudios, but it wasn't Joe himself so I still didn't take action.
ilhe  [author] 27 Feb, 2017 @ 12:05pm
I have friended you. It seems our time zones are very far apart, might be difficult to chat.
AuroraPhoenix44 27 Feb, 2017 @ 5:50am
I recently received permission to adopt the mod from joeThinkStudios. Would it be ok if I took the Hearthfire adapter under my wing as well? Friend me if you would like to talk about it in more detail/privacy.
opalescent0 24 Dec, 2016 @ 6:49pm
So is there any chance you would make a further patch for Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions? There still isn't one and it drives me nuts, because I'd love to have both mods working together.
King Solomon 13 Oct, 2016 @ 4:30pm
Great mod except my 2cd wife doesn't go where I tell her
Zyoz 29 Jul, 2016 @ 11:03pm
How can i Install this with MO?
Blackkat 21 Apr, 2016 @ 2:42am
Sorry to be a bug. I have tried unplugging mods uninstalling/reinstalling Skyrim. When I reloaded the Marriage Mod - To have and to hold. I notice that it is not loading successfully. I've tried unsubscribing and resubscribing. But, it seems like it's not connected.

I've also noticed that I am still unable to get the marriage dialog even after uninstalling the marriege mod and adapter.

Is there even a way to restore things back to vanilla marriage?
Blackkat 18 Apr, 2016 @ 4:52am
After thought. It was working about a weak ago. I just tried experimenting with load order. I am trying to think of what I've added since last week. It wasn't perfect before. But, the ability to marry was there. It might be a conflicting mod. But, I can't recall recent mods I've added.
Blackkat 18 Apr, 2016 @ 4:39am
I've subscribed to Too Have and to Hold and the Adaptor. I have had this mod for sometime. But, now it is not working. The aspect of love is not showing at all. I see the blue glow. But, the guy doesn't pop up or anything. I talked to Maramal and it starts the conversation, but he doesn't give me the option to buy the necklace. I wear the necklace of Mara and no one is responding to it. I really liked this mod. So, I'm eager to get some help with this.
lorrax 18 Mar, 2016 @ 12:07am
i installed this because the aspect of love was non-responsive. it still is. maramal wont sell me an amulet of mara, but i have a couple from elsewhere. dinya gave me the book of love quest and i completed it. she also gave me a quest to hand out a bunch of pamphlets, and i completed that. aspect still wont respond. its there, rises up when i walk near the shrine, i can see the guy, i have the prompt to talk to him, but it does nothing. the mod and this patch are the last things on my load order.
🌙𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓮🌙 1 Mar, 2016 @ 10:31pm
So if I always fail my weddings even though I wait in the temple of Mara this won't fox that issue?
Antares 29 Feb, 2016 @ 4:06am
@ilhe, Thank you for this mod!
Now I know why my spouse never came to Lakeview!!! #§%&~~
After a couple of tries I gave up and threw out the really lovely mod "To Have and To Hold".
Now I’m starting a fresh game and have installed both. As soon as I have news I let you know!
It may take a while ;-)
ilhe  [author] 20 Jan, 2016 @ 12:20pm
Sorry, looks like that known bug. I don't know how to fix it, at the time I couldn't even reproduce it at will to look into why it happens. So I don't really know what's wrong. Best would be return to the save before you included Adapter in the game. Other than that... you could try to remarry that lost spouse, the Aspect of Love has some dialogue for it, it might fix the spouse.
Unsubscribing doesn't remove the mod from your game, you should also uncheck it in the launcher, and/or delete its files from Skyrim/data. Just for information. Removing Adapter now is unlikely to fix things.
Phil Atio 17 Jan, 2016 @ 1:00pm
So I subscribed to this because none of my wives would move to the lakeview manor estate. As soon as I did the option to move there came up, but as soon as this happened I lost all control of my spouses. They went back to their normal locations with no other dialog popping up besides the follow option.

If there is no known fix to my issue, is it possible to at least undo this adapter change? When I unsubscribed it didn't seem to stop the change.
ilhe  [author] 8 Dec, 2015 @ 11:57am
The only modified script is BYOHRelationshipAdoptionScript, others are new. The BYOHRelationshipAdoptionScript is almost entirely taken from Hearthfire, changes are in lines 380 and 610: I cast RelationshipMarriageFIN to MMHFSpouseHouseScript instead of casting to RelationshipMarriageSpouseHouseScript as it was in Hearthfire. I tried to avoid changing scripts of the base game or the original Marriage Mod, it is the only place where I couldn't invent a workaround and absolutely had to change an existing script. In other cases I made new scripts inherited from existing ones, added new logic in these new scripts, and they still were invoking older scripts' logic where it was possible.
ilhe  [author] 7 Dec, 2015 @ 2:13pm
Yes, I can, but tomorow, now is too late and things were rather tricky there... and long ago... I have a detailed description of what and where I did, tomorrow I'll find it and tell.
opalescent0 7 Dec, 2015 @ 1:05pm
any chance you could say which scripts you modified?
heatherfertig 25 Nov, 2015 @ 11:56am
It's still broken, I only get to choose between living in Windhelm & Whiterun, not any of the Hearthfire homes. Also there's no actual reception quest, only to talk to my spouse.
Timothy999 29 Sep, 2015 @ 5:15pm
then it dont let you marrey a new mate
it bugs out say i cant get marred agin
Timothy999 29 Sep, 2015 @ 5:15pm

Navigatr 4 Sep, 2015 @ 8:48am
BLESS YOUR SOUL. I've been looking for a fix like this for hours, I love you.
Flowerfire 28 Jul, 2015 @ 3:47pm
ok, thanks
ilhe  [author] 28 Jul, 2015 @ 1:05pm
I don't think so. It doesn't fix anything, it only makes so "Marriage Mod To Have And To Hold" could work with Hearthfire. It could prevent children and dialogues from disappearing if you were subscribed before getting married and adopting children, but now I doubt it can make any difference.
Flowerfire 28 Jul, 2015 @ 8:55am
I subscribed to this because my children disappeared and so did all dialogue about them. Will this mod fix that?
ilhe  [author] 23 Jul, 2015 @ 11:14am
Great, thanks:)
jaderivers 22 Jul, 2015 @ 3:37am
favourited , thumbs up'd and added to collection =)
ilhe  [author] 18 Jul, 2015 @ 6:47am
Skyrim launcher normally should download subscribed mods. Start Skyrim and wait for the launcher to finish downloading. It was like this for ages. But I haven't played Skyrim for rather long, and read that they broke something when were trying to implement payed mods...
zelazko 17 Jul, 2015 @ 2:21pm
How do I download the adpater? I subscribed but there is no download button or anything.
Boom 4 May, 2015 @ 7:16am
It won't let me talk to the aspect of love?!?!!?
jaderivers 2 May, 2015 @ 8:30am
Ah ok thanks for replying
ilhe  [author] 2 May, 2015 @ 8:23am
This adapter makes Marriage Mod - To Have and to Hold work with Hearthfire. It doesn't add anything new, doesn't fix any bugs (base game's or original Marriage Mod's). It's only purpose is make it possible for those who play with Marriage Mod and Hearthfire together, to be able to move into Hearthfire houses. It isn't a standalone mod, it's a patch.
jaderivers 2 May, 2015 @ 4:19am
So what does this adapter actually do, I use the other marriage atm - to have and to hold , just looking around for something else that work better, and still stop everyone walking out before the ceremony
sublime40oz7 7 Apr, 2015 @ 4:47pm
Anyone have a fix for moving the kids to a new house? Once they are at a house they seem to be unabe to move. Even if I tell my spouse to move.., I have 4 spouses though, and 1 of them is Serana. She lives in the Severin Manor from Dragonborn. My other 3 spouses live 1 of each of the Hearthfire Houses. The kids just stay at the last house they were at before I got additional spouses and wont move when I tell the wives to hit the road!
