Wait, I got a better idea to fix that problem:

Ventilation ports.
Make it so that there are "holes" along the sides of the barrels so that the middle muzzle flash makes SENSE.

Add lights or something to the sides of the barrel, so it looks like it's lighting up when it shoots.

This is a bad skin. You extended the muzzle and now the flash will come out of the middle. Not to mention how boring it is

I've made it as an reference to one movie, called "Equlibrium".

Main character had 2 semi-auto pistols with sharp barrels like here, and other cool stuff.
Also I love powerful handguns, so that one kind of gives a lil feeling of having a powerful pistol in your hand.
