This mod still works for me as well! Playing a game now on a huge map. Just be warned that it did take ~10 minutes to initially generate the map, I believed the game had crashed. I feel like it tends to make a bit too many epic mountain ranges on any map size smaller than huge, but generally speaking this is a game changing mod and the maps are incredible.

I really like this mod but I found the huge mountain ranges to be too limiting, effectively cutting continents in two. Things felt right once I changed: mconst.mountainFreq = 0.150 in the lua.

I wish the mod created mountain passes, say that every four tiles there are snow hills cutting through the range. It would create a real sense of mountains being an obstacle but not an absolute wall.

Mod works for me, but it generates too large stripes of desert land and mountain ranges.

Mod works for me, I only have four UI mods and this and I had no loading issues. World generation was good. Check if you have any mods that also affect world generation or add to world generation.

I can’t launch a game either, playing base version.
There’s already not much map scripts mods, if two third of them don’t work anymore, I’m even sadder x) Plus, this one seems superb !

@Brodka - This isn't a map in and of itself. Rather, it is a script which is used to generate random maps with different characteristics to the maps generated by the game.

The maps this generates seems to be perfectly imperfect... Every single time the map generates strange stringy peninsulas that are useless to settle, mountain passages that make settling useless, covering half the map in useless land.

I like this mod but it's working inconsistently. If I run this mod alone, it usually works. If I run it with other mods (no map packs nor other map generation mods) it works 10%-20% of the time. Take this mod out and run all the same mods, works 100% of the time. In all instances, I'm able to open the game, create setup, and get to start game, but when it doesn't work i get a script error, go to manage mods, as the game start narration is still going. It's a shame, its the best map scripting mod available. All the other mods I'm running are mostly the most popular QoL mods. The only ones with scripts are removable resources and movable districts.

Game will not run with this mod installed under the latest game patch (1.0.12.31 on 1/3/2023). The error in the lua.log points to PerfectWorld6.lua. Hope it's an easy fix... I love your mod!

This map script seems to be causing a crash after the latest patch. I'll test further in a few hours.

This is still my favorite and the best map script for Civ. I've loved this since Civ IV. Still works for me, played my last game on large with all DLC and quite a few mods (although I'm sure this isn't the case for everyone). Starting bias seemed thrown out the window, but that made the playthrough even more fun and unexpected.

What adjustments would I need to make to reduce the number of mountains and desert tiles? Lately, the scripting seems to be producing way too many of both and far too often.

The maps look awesome and are so much fun to play. The only issue I've noticed is start biases just get thrown out the window. I keep spawning in straight desert tiles as Russia or Canada - miles away from any snow

Has anyone made a good edit they could share that stops marsh tiles from spawning in tundra/polar regions? The discrepancy feels wrong both aesthetically as well as yields -> 1 food tundra next to a 3 food marsh, sometimes 4 with... rice!

Same remark as @Acrivec, got 2 PerfectWorld6 maps so I pick one randomly, hope it is not a problem ; Hope there is a more detailed guide to customize the map, when I open PerfectWorld6.lua I get lost in all these settings and functions :/

This is the best gameplay mod I've tried for any game in a long time. I wish I'd found and tried it years ago. It changes the feeling of the game dramatically and gives the land a real sense of "character". It makes *sense*. This is a mod I wish I could take with me to other games ... I'm looking at you, Minecraft.

Why do I have two Perfect World "maps" when creating new game? Both have exact same name and same tooltip. Do they differ anyhow?

And can I create continents, big continents, small continents options?

It works and it's awesome! People really need to be patient with it. I guesstimate it took me about 15 mins to generate an enormous map.

is it possible to reduce the amount of desert that is generated? So far, the great majority of the start locations I've had have been too close to huge deserts - it doesn't seem to make a difference which Civ I choose.

I don't know why but this mod tends to cause random crashes for me. If I use the mod to generate the world, and then deactivate it, it seems fine - but if I do that, I immediately run out of great people. Most strange!

I really like the idea of this mod, but the maps it generates don't seem right. Every map I got was more like the long skinny islands and an absurd amount of rivers. Generally like the idea, but I think it needs an update to potentially fix some issues. Additionally, there appears to be two Perfect World 6 map choices in the drop down, but I'm not sure if there is any difference. Love the idea, but I think she needs a bit of work.
