Luckily double clicking does not cause a crash of the game on my side but it is a nice tool for building which I'd like to recommend - for anyone who has a stable system ;-)
When creating a fence you usually click once for the starting point and again one click for the end. But if you double click at the end point and create the fence, the end point will be automatically the starting point for the next fence. With that you are able to build long fences even around corners and curves without breaking point. I found that feature accidentally and love this mod meanwhile also because of this funtion.

I hope the author does not mind but i got fed-up with trying to work out what all the fence designs look like without any visual reference, so I made one.

Tip! I you use this mod be careful not to double-click when placing fences, if you do your game will crash to desktop.
@Didz. Just try some on your current game, Save your game first, then build some fences, if you don't like them exit the game without saving!

I've managed to work out how to use this mod now. But does anyone have images of what all the different fence types look like?

I'ts kind of suck it and see at the minute, for example 'Boxwood' seems to be a hedge. I rather foolishly assumed it would be a wood fence. A few screenshots would be nice.

I have this mod but have no idea how to make it work. At the moment all I get is a short section of fence about the size of a bench.

First of all thanks a lot for this. I knew it before but even more since I use your mod: this kind of design tool is really missing when you want to create nice landscapes.
During first steps I found it a bit confusing but very quickly got used of it. In fact the results look much better than expected during the planning.
My first fences are for train stations and steep roads.

For all others: I personally recommend using the 2 kinds of bushes because small mistakes of the angles aren't so obvious like when you create fences or walls. And they are pretty, too.

Btw: I've uploaded few screenshots with fences. Here's one example (if embedding of an URL works inside a comment; never did that before): https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/446800/screenshots/?p=1&browsefilter=mostrecent

Amazing mod

Please try to make this mod for TF2,
We all use this to stop the AI from building in this game and it would be amazing if it would return for TF2

I have to agree with HaddockA. A little bit of documentation would go a long way.
HaddockA 29 May, 2019 @ 4:49pm
Why do you always assume that everyone knows how your mods work? Can't you try to be more specific? What does collision do for example? How does face left/right work? How can we delete the fence?

Don't make people struggle so much, even if you explained some things in your comments, nobody wants to read 5 pages of comments.

@cpu Oh I didn't know that's what collision did. Thought it stopped me placing them over other stuff. Well it can't fix the fences I've already made but going forward I can use it.

@Norfolk_Chris thanks but I laid them in long sections along entire sections of tracks...
cpu | skully  [author] 18 Feb, 2019 @ 12:12am
You can also activate the collision, then it's one single solid construction.
Norfolk_Chris 17 Feb, 2019 @ 9:03am
The bulldoze tool seems to work if you include the full length of the section of the fence, as you created it.
Grumpy Crumpy 17 Feb, 2019 @ 1:25am
Is there a way to delete these fences in big lots? I like them and use them as lineside fences. But if I expand my network I have to bulldoze every post and rail manually. The bulldozer tool I found on the workshop doesn't seem to work on these fences. Any help?

Thank you

I never said these fences are going to stop AI. They occasionally do in some situations, but i have no idea why and how the game works. You could ask UG :)
RolleyPovey 11 Feb, 2019 @ 12:09pm
I've build a barrier around all my towns with these barriers, and turned collisions on, to prevent them from expanding. But they build straight through them. Any idea what's causing this?
Dave 11 Jan, 2019 @ 2:05am
Great mode. Just watched grant t lastest video and him talking about how it stops ai building next to the fences. Any chance you could make an invisible fence?

Awesome :) Thanks
Where are they located?
Norfolk_Chris 7 Nov, 2018 @ 8:27am
The invisible fence syndrome may be caused by doing to long a run without break, a great temptation when creating lineside fences. The problem decreases when I keep the runs shorter.
cpu | skully  [author] 7 Nov, 2018 @ 7:10am
I have no clue, sorry. All fences become invisible at a distance of 750 m, and less detailed at 150 m. Maybe it is some sort of performance tweak. After all, this is an asset like any other.
Norfolk_Chris 7 Nov, 2018 @ 3:47am
I am having a problem with your excellant fences.
The 'pasture' fence makes a perfect British lineside fence. British railway companies have been obliged by law to fence their tracks sine the earliest days (well before 1850). This means that I have used a lot of pasture fences.
The problem is that a few of the fences become invisible, have you any idea what causes this? The fences are still there and can be deleted, the deleteing tool highlights them when you point where the fence is located.

Excellent mod. I find that this works very well for keeping AI from building in places where you don't want them to...such as at the ends of bridges and tunnels.

I just wanted to say thank you once again for this mod. The update makes an amazing mod even better. A true time saver for fools like me that put fences around things.

May I ask you what are your future plans?
cpu | skully  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 3:00am
oneway roads - not really, roundabouts - yes. But I won't do that.
Andreas 4 Nov, 2018 @ 2:32am
Would it be possible to create one direction roads or roundabouts?
Andreas 4 Nov, 2018 @ 2:31am
WOW, Awesome!

This is fantastic, I love it... please create the UK's typical 3 (or 4), bar fence that runs along railway lines.

@GDracer15 - I think the autumn trees come from the No Random Trees mod, which is really excellent, by Karl Charlson.
