Thank you, happy to hear that it's liked.
AncientGatekeeper 28 Mar, 2020 @ 6:53pm
Ah. So strange. Thanks for updating this glorious mod!
akeean  [author] 28 Mar, 2020 @ 6:39pm
Good to know. Couldn't overwrite the old mod with new launcher compatible structure, since the launcher throws an nondescript error. That's why it's split now.
AncientGatekeeper 28 Mar, 2020 @ 6:32pm
The new launcher requires a descriptor.mod file in the mod folder itself, also they no longer have to be zipped.
akeean  [author] 28 Mar, 2020 @ 2:43pm
No longer compatible to the new launcher. use this version only if you roll back to an older version. Should work with 1.0 - 2.4.
Bushmaster Angelo 14 Dec, 2019 @ 9:44am
2.5 compatible?
kelstr 22 Oct, 2019 @ 7:12pm
This looks fucking awesome
akeean  [author] 7 Jun, 2019 @ 1:50pm
Jup its tested to work fine & no risk of bugging out. Haven't gotten around to update the tag yet.
Spirit 7 Jun, 2019 @ 12:07pm
2.3 compatible ?
akeean  [author] 23 Mar, 2019 @ 2:55am
@Amnesiac try "Hyperlane Transparency Lite", I like combining it with "Pinwheel Galaxy" :)
Amnesiac 10 Feb, 2019 @ 12:29pm
That's ok, I appreciate the mod anyway! Its great when I'm playing with my brother and we can callout where stuff is happening.

The only reason i ask is because it feels a little cluttered sometimes with it and all the jump lanes as well, they kind of visually blend in a little and it can seem more cluttered. Even with this mod off It can still feel cluttered tho lol :L
akeean  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 2:45pm
Not that I know of, Amnesiac :-(

The only way o "toggle" that I can imagine would be maybe via graphics options. So it only displays at high settings. Sadly Stellaris needs a restart for that, so its not all that useful.
Amnesiac 5 Feb, 2019 @ 9:32pm
Any way to get a toggle option edict or something? :)
Nalamba 20 Jan, 2019 @ 12:51pm
This is a lifesaver when starting new multiplayer games. It's so much easier to see if we're spaced properly. :)
Corporate Platypus 8 Jan, 2019 @ 11:45pm
Hey akeean! I'm a Community Ambassador, working for Paradox Interactive. I was hoping to discuss something cool with you in private so I sent you a friend request. Think you can accept it so we can chat? :)
akeean  [author] 4 Jan, 2019 @ 6:10am
Ah! Yes they are a little streched to fit better onto the square 4096x4096 texture.
GeneralFive 3 Jan, 2019 @ 5:42pm
@akeean sorry, symmetrical wasn't the right word. They're not regular hexagons (that is, the sides aren't all the same length, and the angles aren't all equal)
akeean  [author] 3 Jan, 2019 @ 11:07am
@Aekiel The grid and the numbers are basically a big 4096 squared pixel graphic, so it can't be changed dynamicly via name lists.

I doubt that the galaxy generation bits of Stellaris are open enough to use the code that displays nebula names to somehow draw a grid of invisible nebulas that just show the name.

Would be cool, though
akeean  [author] 3 Jan, 2019 @ 11:03am
@GeneralFive what do you mean they are not symetrical? They are at least horizonally and vertically symetric :D
GeneralFive 1 Jan, 2019 @ 9:38pm
It really bugs me that they aren't symmetrical...
Aekiel 22 Dec, 2018 @ 8:06am
Is there any possibility of giving the grid numbers names instead, maybe based on a namelist? This looks awesome and I'd love to be able to name hexes.

Smaller variant for Tiny & Small galaxies (Only activate one of the 2 mods at the same time) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1586728968
akeean  [author] 20 Dec, 2018 @ 4:12pm
I'll be adding a 50% version soon. This one is fitting for 1000 star games, while tiny galaxies will basically only occupy parts of the central hexes. The 0000 hex should always be mostly just the galactic core.
ClutsyGinger 20 Dec, 2018 @ 8:31am
I've been curious how many hexes are in one of your hexes? I was trying to get a sense of what the dimensions of a map was like.

ps, they need a map editing tool.
Shay Achern 19 Dec, 2018 @ 7:27pm
Oh okay thats cool. Is there a way to make a 3/4th size one? I agree with GwenBlanket that it might a bit too big. Smaller hexes would be good I think. Great Hexgrid. Thanks!
akeean  [author] 19 Dec, 2018 @ 1:06am
As far as the galaxy map works, you can't toggle those texture overlays ingame unless they are 2d projections like icons (but then the grid would look very awkward as soon as the map is tilted.
Shay Achern 18 Dec, 2018 @ 7:10pm
IDEA: Could there be a way to toggle them on and off ingame? It would be very helpful. Just a thought. Great Hexgrid, I love it!
GwenBlanketSpecter 14 Dec, 2018 @ 7:18am
is there an option for smaller hexes?
akeean  [author] 17 Nov, 2018 @ 6:06pm
@Advent About L-Cluster location, in my test the L-Cluster was right in the middle of Hex 2212.
Lasid 9 Nov, 2018 @ 4:57am
Kk, it's achievement compatible.
akeean  [author] 8 Nov, 2018 @ 10:29pm
@Life-seeded I haven't tested it, but since it only adds to /gfx and not commons or events, it should remain ironman & archivement compatible.
Lasid 8 Nov, 2018 @ 2:46pm
Is this mod achievement compatible?
Kepos 8 Nov, 2018 @ 9:27am
Great enhancement for multiplayer. Thx!
akeean  [author] 8 Nov, 2018 @ 6:53am
@Builderelf I'm looking into it, will either release a rescaled small galaxy version or see if I can get it changable via modmenu. so players can switch some options (to reduce the amount of mod switching/syncing needed, since it can be a pain).
ghost witch 7 Nov, 2018 @ 6:09pm
I love seeing stuff inspired by Babylon 5. Great mod!
Builderelf 7 Nov, 2018 @ 4:27pm
Is there any way to make an option (or another version of the mod) for smaller galaxies? it looks weird having tons of empty hexes in the middle of space but otherwise it looks great
TacticalNuclearPenguin 7 Nov, 2018 @ 8:26am
Brilliant mod.
akeean  [author] 7 Nov, 2018 @ 2:27am
@Deatheagle Jep. But sensor ping just loves to bug out and get stuck, especially if running in Fullscreen, not Borderless Fullscreen.
Deatheagle 7 Nov, 2018 @ 1:24am
You all know, that holding the alt-key and clicking on the map will send a ping (some expanding red circles) on the map for your fellow players to see ?
Guardian-of-Light137 7 Nov, 2018 @ 12:02am
Though this is intended for multiplayer use it also has usefulness for singleplayer as well. I have a bad memory so when i'm looking for a specific empire in my latest match, this helps me narrow it down.
GHYNG 6 Nov, 2018 @ 9:12pm
coooooool
Drilla 6 Nov, 2018 @ 11:04am
this is extremly useful and nice looking. thanks!
JuniorDipity 5 Nov, 2018 @ 9:09pm
neat
akeean  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 5:02pm
@Advent oh, okay. I'll test it a bit more, maybe rescale the hex tiles and add more if it doesn't fit.
def name = "Zach" 5 Nov, 2018 @ 4:14pm
@akeean, yup, works fine now ^^
Primordial Hunter 5 Nov, 2018 @ 2:41pm
@akeean The L-cluster spawns in the same postion every time in the upper right hand corner of the galaxy
akeean  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 6:18am
@fingerboxes It is now compatible to "Quadrants Fixed" (wich in turn is now compatible to Quadrants) :)
akeean  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 5:48am
@zjohn4 Thank you for the heads up, hope its fixed now!
akeean  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 5:47am
@Agamidae I've updated the asset as you asked. Hope it plays along now. Thank you for advising me! :)
akeean  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 5:40am
@Nysn I haven't encountered L-clusters in my playthroughs all that often, but I assume its position is random every time? In that case if the cluster is not too far out, it should end up in a named hex.
