That request is already in this mod. Extream was specifically designed to be as hard as possible in the vanilla game. Also, Starvation is tough too. They may be educated and fully equipped, but no starting food and fuel still creates a stressful timer.

Request: Jack and Jill start that is barely possible without mods, I like the idea of Adam and Eve getting kicked out of Eden but i don't want them to have education tools or seeds. I assume without mods you can't start a game with food and no cart/buildings, can they start with a small amount of apples and no seeds?

Almost 1 year later, and the request is complete. Two couple versions of all one couple starts are now in the mod.

I misread a mod description on another site, and it gave me a great idea. 3 more starts were added based on a new theme.

Everyone starts with education, tools, and clothes, but no food or firewood. There are variants for 2 people, 1 family, and 4 families. They are possible in a vanilla game, but the Gather must be built within 2 months, or everyone will die. Naturally, a food removal tool will make the starts a lot easier.

I did a lot of changes. First, I added more starts for 1 family wit children and four families. There are also some starts that require mods, like Jack and Jill.

I also added the Animal, Crop, and Fig example mods. Players can now start with those resources!

I tried Extream on harsh and played till I got tool production, so it is possible. However, it is designed to be as hard as possible without other mods installed.

A lot of micromanaging is required. You need to get the priorities straight. Focus on food first. Then collect firewood. Everything else is secondary. Also, stop gathering food after collecting 200. You may need the manpower for something else.

Is it possible to get through the first winter on Harsh climate with Extream? I can *almost* make it on Fair climate, could probably do it if I micromanage people a bit more. Harsh seems totally impossible though, even if you get a perfect start with bunches of wood and stone right next to you.

Someone asked for Potatos, so I said "Let there be Potatos!" Then I got a lot more than just Potatos. If you thought there were not enough start conditions in the mod, then you love this update.

Also, I made some starting sizes bigger in the hopes of fixing a reported issue with certain terrains.

@Semirotta no, we'll believe that there was a whole bunch of energy (that came from nowhere) exploded (all by itself). then (here's the best part) after millions (and millions) of years planets formed.

on 1 of these planets there happened to be this goo that turned into fish, then into other creatures (because they weren't happy being what they were) and eventually into humans. what a story, huh?

Ok so most likely that is exactly what has happened; my chickens simply died because I made the cart to be demolished BEFORE I had my storages ready and/or pasture not ready first.

Animals can die if they don't get in a pasture in time. It's possible the pasture wasn't complete in time or the chickens spent to much time debating on weather or not they want to live in it.

Well the thing is, I had created storage spots for all goods in one section in my "village" and while I was building it; I set the cart you start with to be demolished. Do you think at that point, when all the resources were no longer in my possession; the chickens ran off somewhere? because I really waited for a long time, had one pasture for chickens the whole game and still they never appeared. I have a feeling it might have glitched out the chickens, the citizens normally gather the resources to new spots where they can storage them but the chickens might just flee and eventually perhaps die ?

Chickens are small and can be easily overlooked. As for the pasture, I know the game can have a delay with certain things sometimes. Once I had to fiddle with my blacksmith count because a new blacksmith didn't want to work in his building.

Ok I don't know why, but I did see the chickens when game started. Straight away I tried to be setting up few homes and other normal things I do and on top of all it I made the ranch for chickens, it gave me the choise to choose chickens but it stayed 0 out of 9 the whole time even though I had two workers on it.

4) All the other hard starts start you out with a clearing in the woods, a circular patch with no trees. The starts which cause the infinite loading don't seem to generate this clearing but spawn right into the forest. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, just an observation.

5) Water World is covered in tons of lakes and doesn't have a lot of locations suitable for spawning the people and wagon. Maybe the problem occurs because no viable location for spawning can be found?

Anyway, weird that it's not reproducible. But thank you a lot for attempting to help. And besides, love your Mod, good job. c:

Thank you for answering. Neither your mod nor CC Terrains is conflicting with anything, they're both green. So I did some testing and found out a few more things. What I did and my findings:

1) I disabled all my mods except for CC Terrains and More Hard Starts. They are not conflicting.

2) The problem only happens when I chose "CC Water World" all the other terrain options seem to work fine.

3) The problem only occurs with Extreme, Adam & Eve, Two Couples, Two Families and This is Banished. My observation: these all seem to be the starts where you've changed the number/types of people and didn't simply add seeds/livestock. All other starts work fine with Waterworld.

Unfortunately, I can not replicate the problem. I even tried this with CC itself. My mod should only conflict with other mods that edit the StartConditions.rsc file. In the mod list, conflicting mods show up in red. If you click the barely noticable "-" button below Enable, then you can see details of the conflicts with that mod. It may help you with the problem.

For some reason Adam and Eve as well as Two Couples causes my game to load infinitely.

I am using the standalone new terrains mod from Colonial Charter and want to play with Waterworld. It works with Shepherds for example, but for some odd reason (same settings and everything) both adam/eve and 2 couples won't work for me.

I do have a lot of mods but they should all work with eachother and I have no problems playing with another type of start.

Banished is definetly my favorite city building game, but it can get a little boring after a while, and that's where mods come in, lol. I keep switching between trying to get achievements and downloading mods.

In response to the Jack and Jill comment, I actually made something like that once, but it's litterally unwinable without mods. However, if you can get mods that make it do-able, then it's definitely an interesting and oddly satisfying experiance. Fortunately, there are three mods on Steam that make it work.

Will definitely try it later (I want to play the game you've started)... But be sure to try when there is time or if in the current game there are problems and I decide that it's easier for me to start over than to solve them.
Despite the prescription of the game, I started playing it only a week ago-I learned about it after buying the game Life is Feudal Forest Village and watching a video with its passage, where it is often compared with Banished, and then watching videos on this game. I love these games!

If any of yuou guys like a really hard start, try Jack & Jill. Two uneducated people, no food, no tools, no clothes. Of course no seeds or livestock of any sort.

Also, I tried to make the game do just 2 children, but it's kinda not possible. I can only set a max number, so Two Families, your second request, will have 0 - 4 children. However, the number will most likely be 2 or 3.

This is AMAZING!!! Especially "Adam and Eve"...
But if it possible - do you can one more start scenario for HARD?
In the likeness of "Adam and eve", but with 4-6 adult settlers (without children or 4 adults and 2 children 5-6 years).?
P.S. A & E is very interesting, but I would like a little easier option (4 adults give a chance that if where I do not keep track, there will be at least 2-3 adults until the children grow up)...
