Thank you for this! I live outside of Asheville NC and shop at Ingles a couple times a week. Pretty much the only decent grocery store around here. I noticed you used the older design. Nice to see it again. Most if not all the stores here have upgraded their look. Awesome work, thanks again.

@w lemay Time would be a big consideration, but I imagine an asset every blue moon wouldn't be an issue. I use sketchup to create my models, and then 3d max for uv unwrapping, photoshop for texture. I think @armesto and a couple more creators do it straight from sketchup. I'm no expert when it comes to the technical stuff tho, everything I know came from the youtubes.

@KingLeno I mainly could not figure out how to import models from SketchUp to a format usable by C:S. I have a computer with a Mac partition and a Windows partition, with most of my SketchUp files being on the Mac side and the software that can convert the files on the Windows side, making for an awkward workflow. I also have a bit of difficulty having time for it with how busy I am with Architecture School at the moment.

@KingLeno, good point. I'm sure there is a way to diversify commercial in a way that still works with Industries DLC but can be played alone. I just think that should be their next push because it is currently sorta boring since all stores function exactly the same.

@w lemay you've got a lot of great stuff. I may use them for inspiration as far as design. Way too many polygons to actually use and would basically have to make a much more simple model. What's the hold up to making buildings for CS?

I made several of these in SketchUp and uploaded them to the 3D Warehouse. Feel free to use them if you want.

Awsome love all of your assets :D

@justducky I think that's a great idea, but would never happen. the functionality would be almost identical to the industries dlc and people would complain that it should have been included. Not to mention that it would have to completely ignore the industries with the industries DLC because each DLC has to function 100% independently of other DLCs.

I think City Skylines should focus their next DLC on commercial, creating customizable malls and stores that sell certain goods which need to be supplied by certain industries. It would tie in well with this last DLC and also create a more dynamic gameplay in the commercial zone. What do you think, Leno?

@maxdrury66 of course I would be able to create them lol. Will I ever create them or not, who knows. I'm definitely going to do more department stores in the future though, but the future could be next month or 2 years.

looks good! would you ever be able to create a Nordstrom department store and a Wegmans supermarket?
