Update: Loading the mod last solved it. It was probably a compatibility issue with "Research curiosity rewards" since I don't have any other mod that touches the tech tree. It's still weird since both mods are from the same author so I thought they'd be compatible.

This mod disabled wonders for me, they don't show on system improvements.

Is there any chance you can give an option to keep the deeds exclusive to first comers as vanilla?

Could you also tell me how i can do it and where to find the workshop file in the [My] directory I can just try make my own preferred luxury resources always be the same or by increasing the % higher so that the chance of that resource is greater in the random pool of possible rewards hope this makes sense great mod btw!

can you mod this so that u can choose what your luxury resource are on the reward notification because it kinda blows you can't choose what you want and that its random you know but keep the 2 different types/pair
eg I prefer Jadonyx with Eden Incense OR RedSang with Dustciduous Trees same amount is this possible?

still works with all dlc active and purchased except darkmatter as vodani. as only mod. not tested with other races and you might get some expansion issues. if it changes the tech tree will cause issues if this one is not loaded last, and there might be problems depending on how someone wanted to mod these buildings if they wanted to change stuff also changed by this file. put this mod last and it should work, you might get some problems with your other mods tho.

I agree that there should be a setting for the first empire to get a greater reward, second to get slightly less and subsequent get the same medium reward.
Also by default this mod gives WAY too much as rewards, only balanced by the fact that everyone gets it.

This mod doesn't alter the modules. The modules you are looking for are ModuleDefenseShieldDeeds01 and ModuleWeaponBeamDeeds01 in the vanilla files.

do you know where i can find Annihalator Beam and that Op shield in vanilla files or in ur mod? ( stage 4 deed military)

Any chance there could be faction-specific rewards worked in? i.e. for the Vodyani, one of the stage 5 science rewards, terraforming megasite, gives them no benefit as they are unable to terraform

I think when someone builds a wonder that originally was only buildable once per empire, it removes that wonder from queues of all remaining players, so they lose construction progress and are able to queue that wonder again, from square one. I had instances where my wonder production was cancelled, across multiple games.

Your mod might work. I think it would require replacing each deed quest with a series of deed quests with decreasing rewards.

Thank you for the support offer but I'm not interested in making another version. Of course, you or anyone else is free to modify this mod.

It would be really cool if there was 3 ranks for each Deeds, and the 3 best Empires for completing the Deed would get rewards. That way competition is still encouraged while allowed for multiple Empires to complete the Deed. Of course, this would still shut out other Empires for failing to complete the Deed, but that is a part of why the Player picks and chooses what Deeds they want to focus on and what Deeds they want to ignore in the Base game. I would expect the same thing would be a stragety in a modded game too. Its just a thought and a minor change to this mod. If you make another version of the Mod, I don't mind donating to you so you can be encouraged to make future mods. I noticed modders love to receive funds for doing a good job modding, and its important to support modders and the modding community. I have modded games in the past myself, but never diligently, so I never made a Kofi account or Patreon. I'd love to support you.

I love this mod, not only for the deeds but also the wonders part. It always seemed silly to me that if one faction built e.g. a theme park, all these advanced high-tech aliens would suddenly forget how to build one themselves.

Deeds are just little challenges. They aren't really necessary to play the game. The game pics the regular deeds for you at the start, and wonder deeds are always the same building to build.

New to playing this game and getting the hang of it. I still don't know what some of the deeds even bring to the actual play so "competing for them" is not practical; how do I know which ones i really want without having gotten them to play with first?

It might be possible to reorganize the mod so removing or commenting out 2 lines in the main file would disable wonders.

I'm hesitant to make multiple versions of the mod, but I wouldn't mind if you or someone else made another version that did that.

My edit did not work....
in the vanilla files where do i find the questdefinition file for all the stageX_C deeds

To reactivate the rat race of only one faction obtaining deeds i changed the files for this mod

I hadn't planned to make a competitive version of this mod, but it wouldn't be to difficult to modify. This mod overwrites the deed quest definitions. Juat copy pasta the original quest definitions and replace the droplist rewards at the end with mine.

Oh, forgot to ask: Is there any chance you could put a version of this up that has the rat race yet also has the extra rewards? I REALLY like that part of your mod. I might prefer the race, but even balance wise I feel the rewards players get for being first aren't high enough in base. I want it to mean more to earn them, AND have it matter more for victory that you get at least one or two of them (not specific ones, but just like, one of any number of them). While I feel that EndlessWorld and ITER are overpowered if they are racey, I’d rather balance it by buffing the others to match. Essentially, I feel nerfing ITER & EndlessWorld would mess up science vic.

Would that be easy to modify and do? It may require some balancing by removing the extra bonuses on ITER and EndlessWorld.

Thanks for hearing me out and if you don't do it I totally understand. Just making a suggestion and request in case you feel like doin' it. I think other people would like it too.

I mean I'd miss it. A lot. I feel it's an important balancing aspect of the game, as some factions having an easier or harder time at various of them matter.

That said, to each their own, and even balance wise IF it even has an effect it is SUPER tiny (well, with notable exception to the Science Victory ones where I think making them everyone can have seriously gimps Sophons & Vaulters chief advantages. Not everyone should be able to get a science vic easily and part of playing them SHOULD be planning for building that soon and if you miss it you need to look for a backup vic (which they can do if you adapt)). Balance aside, mostly I just enjoy the aspect of racing to a deed though!

SUPER glad there is a mod like this up here though. Just idly making conversation/comment. Thank you for putting a mod like this up for folks who want to play sans the race. Heck, I might give this a try sometime and see how I feel about it first hand. Who knows, my preference might change!
