I'm sorry to admit that this mod is buggy and doesn't seem to work. When providing my companion with any form of equipment he/she would equip half of a set, if I gave them a hood they would unequip the matching robes and by removing the hood the robes would once again reappear. Whenever I removed the added equipment altogether and left them with their original equipment they would somehow spawn this clothing in their inventory and wear it randomly with any armors I had previously given them and then removed. This mod doesn't work.

This mod doesn't work for followers with a default Robe for armor. I've been trying to equip a follower with a Robe set, because his robes are ugly, and yellow with no taste at all. So I've been giving him various robes, and with this mod, he will not equip anything that isn't armor, and when I give him Staves, he proceeds to ignore them in combat, and uses his Hunting Bow default weapon... so yeah... this mod isn't helping me.

I've been looking for a mod like this for a very long time, This one seems the best out of all of them, Keep at it! =D

Sorry that I have not been keeping up with this mod for a long time now. I have a little more time on my hands now so I may update it in the near future. For those of you that need another mod to do what this one is no longer doing, I suggest trying out the following:

Its from the skyrim nexus, they have a Mod Manager you can download to help with downloading and installing their mods. It is by far the best follower mod around and is kept up to date.

You can also try the one linked in my description above but from what i can tell it is no longer up to date either.

I wouldn't recommend this Mod anymore. Back in its day, it was great, but now its out of date, and being that the developer says they're not keeping up with this mod anymore, well, it shows.
Lydia thus far that I've noticed, no longer equips all the items you give her. She'll equip a weapon and chest, but nothing else. Time to find a substitute mod!

For some reason Lydia seems to duplicate dwarven armor that i gave her. It's set to default somehow and even console command removeallitems can't overide it

seems to conflict with items from the the dlcs - otherwise this would exactly be what i was looking for.. is there a similar mod that works for the dlc items also?

I feel the same way. I don't know if it's a genuine compatibility issue, but I was totally into this mod idea until I read that it makes all followers immortal. :( (If the vanilla game came that way, though, I wouldn't have cared ... guess I'm just a Bethesda whore.)

I like the idea of this mod but I don't want any of the NPC's essential status to be changed.

I've been looking for a mod that does something similar to this one but I don't want a mod that messes with the mortality of all the in game followers, if I am reading this wrong or misunderstanding this please correct me.

I counldn't find an answer to my question in your comments but If I've overlooked it I'm sorry. Is there any way to get your follower/spouce to change out of his armor when he is at home. It's just hard to sleep next to some guy in glass or iron armor. LOL Can he equip casual or fine clothes when he's at home?

This works great for getting Lydia to wear something other than armour! She'll wear what you just gave her - so if you want het to wear a certain dress (or whatever) take it from her/give it back, and then she'll be wearing it - very little fuss, quite easy - this is great and so straightforward! Love it!!!

@RFB I had a similar problem with Mjoll, I gave her Stormcloak Officer armor and now she duplicates it whenever I take it from her.

Well, I'm having a weird problem. I married Lydia and gave her a party clothes and boots afterwards, she equiped one and then equiped the second, never both. I travelled to Solstheim, she equiped both fine automatically; then I took the clothes and boots and equiped armor gear (imperial armor full), she equiped everything ok, so I travelled back to Skyrim and as soon as we got there she equiped the party clothes (?), duplicating it. Curious is that she duplicated only the clothes, not the boots. Problem is, I keep unequiping it and she keeps duplicating at every travel.

Every time you leave a follower the game re-installs the invisible inventory stuff and overloads them.

I had the same issue. It has to do with some hidden inventory items that this mod still doesn't show. Here's how I fixed it:

Remove all of the items that you want to keep from your follower.
Open the console (~ key)
Target your follower (click on them with the console open)
Type: .removeallitems
The follower should now basically be naked.
Close the console (~ key again)
Put their items back.

They should now keep the armor that you give them equipped.

I give lydia some stuff to carry, with her already wearing her good gear, and when ever i get a loading screen like when i fast travel or go into a building, she puts the stuff i gave her to carry on. Then when i take the stuff off and the game loads again, she magically gets the stuff i took from her back and continues to wear it.

I have a problem: can someone tell me why I can give new equip to all the followers but my husband Vilkas? It's like he's carrying too much weight even if his inventory is empty.

Its odd because mod works perfectly fine for me to the extend that was said or promised in the text for the mod, i actually think DistantDeath did a good job with it. That said ofcause it would been nice to be able to equip spouses, but its not something ill lose sleep over not being there(As non companions are not followers).

sorry,,,your mod dose not work,,man i,m tired of having to change my house ,,WIFE,,and my followers,,cloths oops,,i meen what they are waring ,,i take what they have on ,,and give them some thing better ,,and when i come back they have on the same crap i took off them ,,,see your mod dose not work,,,and all the mods i tried to use who clame to do the same thing dont work,,,

i managed to get it working by using it conjunction with General Fixes to Followers mod, this loading first then the other, neither of these seemed to work independently but together PERFECT.

******ANYONE WANTING TO USE OR IMPROVE ON MY SCRIPTS PLEASE FEEL FREE.****** I haven't been keeping up with this mod anymore. It works, I use it but i cant keep trying to make it work with everything and for everyone. Just dont have the time. Sry, but have fun playing with it if you wish. Enjoy!

p.s i dont have any conflicting mods and i have placed this at the bottom of the load order.

Sarah always reverts to her original clothes, this has only just started happening as she was fine before. any chance you could have a look at the mod maybe update with a fix. i did marry her using the console command, would this have caused the error? i really liked this mod but this is a bit annoying. please please fix. cheers.

Dont work, lydia always falls back to her old stuff lol. i selled her stuff and gave her steel and after a while or zoning she got all the fur staff again lol ... dont work

Hey man. I was wondering if I could use your scripts for a mod I'm making.

I'm loving this mod, it does just what I need it to. I have to report a few bugs though, although one of them may not be caused by your mod. My companion, Stenvar, still seems to use his blasted hunting bow when I give him better options to use. Also, I gave him some falmer gear to carry once and he continues to wear it, no matter how many times I've taken it away from his inventory. He's stopped wearing the armour, but he keeps wearing the boots. I've ended up with tens of falmer boots in MY inventory because of it. It's maddening!

Followers seem to wear the last thing you give them. Is this how you intended it? This is a problem when you need help carrying things. It would be nice if you could lock in what they are wearing but not weapons though...they need to be able to change from range to melee. Is this a possibility?

oh my god.. i have used well over 2 hours to figure out how to make my followers interact with Boethiah's Calling quest... i had to remove the essential for it to work.. jeez :p

is there any load order requirement for this at all? because my Lydia doesnt have the armor on i gave her (fresh game) everytime i come to breezehome.. in fact she is wearing a leather suit which doesnt make any sence to me.
