For this dude below me :)))))))))))))) IT HAS ALREADY 12 TPY THATS WHY YOUR GAME DOESNT START! Bloody hell man nobody reads those days...

This mod officially doesn't work anymore. I've tried putting it above the 12tpy mod and deleting all other mods and it does nothing, none of the extra factions show up when i start a new campaign. Sad. :(

Hey guys! So the only way I was able to get this mod to work these days was by moving this mod above the 12tpy mod on the launcher's mod menu. Hopefully this helps.
Ganon Cannon 24 Apr, 2021 @ 8:06am
definitely not showing up anymore
Pihirion 9 May, 2020 @ 6:18am
@ManicMayo same here I do not see the additional factions anymore in the campaign selector :( (I've tested with your mod only)

Hi, for some reason the mod has stopped working for me (none of the factions are appearing in the campaign menu). I've deactivated all other mods and reinstalled this mod but still no joy.

I noticed some of the updates you've made. I really appreciate that and all the other work you've done making these factions available, it's great! There aren't a whole lot of games/media that revolve around the various Welsh and Briton petty kingdoms of the era so I'll take what I can get my hands on you know?

I also know technical communication/instructional writing can be tricky and actually a little alien feeling... you have to make things so clear and often repeat things to the point where it feels like it might almost be insulting to the reader. Don't worry about being obnoxious when it comes to that presenting that information for us... Thanks again!

@Sieda - No problem. The fault is largely with me as this happens quite regularly and is probably what's causing 99% of issues people report here (the other 1% being people running incompatible mods like Radious). I think since you first posted, I have tried to make it more comprehensible by slightly modifying the mod titles to be slightly less misleading (changed 'part' to 'pack') and bumping up the warning to the very top of the description and making it more prominent. I do tend to waffle a bit and actual important information can end up getting lost in a wall of text most people can't be bothered to read. Perhaps I should get into writing contracts? Don't beat yourself up over it and enjoy the mod :)
Sieda 22 Mar, 2019 @ 8:51am
So we've established that my reading comprehension is questionable. In my defense, the faction descriptions on the mod page is only a partial list. I thought it was a complete one... So the thought that each pack would unlock different factions and the packs would overwrite each other really didn't occur to me. Well now I know...and knowing is half the battle. GI JOE.
Sieda 22 Mar, 2019 @ 8:40am
Oh... oh no. I think I may have just realized my mistake. So for each version of the mod, you only are supposed to have 1 of the 3 packs enabled?

I took "All parts of the Manic's Expanded Factions mod are standalone packs.
Do NOT run any of them together!" and interpreted that to mean don't run the 3 4tpy packs together with the 3 12tpy packs. I assumed all 3 of each were necessary for the mod to function. Ah geez... SMH.

Well that solves that.

Ok, got some screengrabs here for you. First one is the mod order: http://i67.tinypic.com/24gq7hz.png .

2nd screen here shows the way it's listed on the pop up warning. Sadly I've no idea what to do to try and get that load order correct, and it sounds like that might be the issue. http://i64.tinypic.com/f3f4vo.png

Hope this helps! I'm going to slap myself if its something completely obvious. Thanks again.
Sieda 22 Mar, 2019 @ 8:10am
Well that's something at least. I think I mentioned briefly that when I subscribed and selected the mods in the mod manager, no matter the order I tried to sort them in, when that prompt comes up and you get the warning that pop up on starting the game, you know, WARNING: YOU HAVE MODS ENABLED, it would always display pack 2, pack 3 and then pack 1. While the 4tpy was in the correct order when I tried. So knowing those are all pack 2 factions suggests that load order is important after all... although I'm not sure why it isn't sorting it the way I've organized it to.

I deleted it all when I decided the 4tpy version worked fine enough for my needs (I mostly play these games in custom battle mode to compliment my CK2 campaigns) but I'll see if I can resubscribe and get some more screenshots.
ManicMayo  [author] 22 Mar, 2019 @ 7:00am
@Sieda - Those are all the factions from the second pack of this mod. Sorry for such an obvious question but are you one hundr-... reasonably confident that you haven't simply enabled 'Pack 2' by mistake? Would you also mind uploading a screenshot of your active mods in your game launcher? That might help narrow down what's causing this issue.
Sieda 22 Mar, 2019 @ 1:14am
I'm never 100% sure about anything in my life sadly, but I'm pretty sure I tested multiple times only using the 3 12tpy packs for this mod. As I said, I got the 4tpy working with no issue. Even works with my other mods. Thanks for double-checking though.

I took a screenshot of the custom battle screen for reference. It's not just the Welsh factions (though they were the first I noticed) as you can see, Bedeborg, Westmoringas, etc. are all incorrect.

ManicMayo  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 4:58pm
@Sieda - So you're 100% sure that you're only launching your game with this specific pack enabled and no others? Not enabling it alongside the 4TPY version of this pack or all 3 12TPY packs at once? If you're not, then I honestly don't know what is causing this issue I'm afraid. Everything is working fine on my end. When you say the Welsh factions are incorrect, what factions are showing up instead of the ones listed in the mod description?
Sieda 21 Mar, 2019 @ 2:53pm
First attempt with the 12TPY version was with some other mods that I thought would be fine. No dice so I disabled all other packs and tried again. Then I installed the normal 4TPY as a sort of control to see if that one was working (disabling the 12tpy). That one worked fine. I then tried deleting and resubscribing the 12tpy to make sure I just didn't fuck up the first time, same result with the incorrect factions.

Something I noticed in the process was no matter what load order I assigned the 3, 12tpy packs, when I started the game and get that initial warning, it displayed the order as 2, 3, 1... wheras with the 4tpy it was 1, 2, 3, as you would expect. Not sure that necessarily makes a difference, but it was just something I noted.

4tpy version works fine for my needs anyway, so I've gone with that. Thought I'd mention something tho, especially since I was trying to isolate what might be the issue on my end and couldn't figure out what it might be.
ManicMayo  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 7:55am
@Sieda - Are you running only this pack and no others? They are all standalone mods and should not be run together as a set. Similarly, the 12TPY versions are not add-ons for their 4TPY counterparts and should also be enabled separately.
Sieda 20 Mar, 2019 @ 11:05pm
So I took some time to play around with the mods to see if maybe there was a load order issue or something that might be giving me issues. I downloaded and ran the normal version of the mod and noticed that it expanded has the correct factions as listed, however running the 12TPY variation available here, it appears that the playable factions have been switched to other ones?
Sieda 20 Mar, 2019 @ 7:40pm
When I originally saw this mod, I was under the impression that you could play as Cerneu? Taking a look in the game, I can see that a number of the other factions have been unlocked, however the Welsh factions that I'm seeing available don't match the ones in the mod description.

Was there a maybe change made at some point that didn't make it into the mod description?
Jod1001 18 Feb, 2019 @ 5:15pm
That would be it, i was running all three packs at once, thanks
ManicMayo  [author] 17 Feb, 2019 @ 3:32pm
That sounds like you have conflicting mods. Make sure that you only run one of these packs at a time. These are all essentially standalone mods and will not work if you enable multiple packs together. This applies to the 12TPY packs which are all their own separate mods and are not to be treated as 'add-ons' for the main 4TPY version. You will also need to disable the 'Manic's Emergent Factions' custom battles mod if you are also running that.
GeminiiSkull 17 Feb, 2019 @ 3:21pm
that is correct, you can only pick vanilla factions, i'm just running 12mturns and bloddier battles plust a part of factions, but nothing is applying...
Jod1001 17 Feb, 2019 @ 3:15pm
The mod is showing up in the mod manager however there is no option to pick any but vanilla factions in game
ManicMayo  [author] 17 Feb, 2019 @ 3:04pm
What do you mean by 'not applying'? Is this mod not showing up at all in the 'mod manager' of your game launcher or are the unlocked factions not showing up on the faction selection menu when the mod is active?
Jod1001 17 Feb, 2019 @ 1:01pm
Yeah the mod isnt applying, the only mods i have on are the 3 parts and 12tpy
GeminiiSkull 17 Feb, 2019 @ 11:50am
It seems that the game is not applying the mods, how do i make sure these mods are implemented?
ManicMayo  [author] 30 Jan, 2019 @ 7:33pm
@Dave - Thanks! Yes, I am aware of this issue. I have no idea what's causing it or how to fix it. You'll be greeted by a similar problem if ever decide to play as one of the Scottish factions (Athfochla and Fortriu). My current best, uneducated guess is an incomplete family tree or bugged faction member.
Dave 30 Jan, 2019 @ 10:03am
Great job! only 7 one glitch, when playing as Seisilwig i get a CTD as soon as i try to open the faction screen. All the other factions seem to work fine.
ManicMayo  [author] 6 Jan, 2019 @ 5:27pm
@Ed - Thanks! I'm really glad that this mod has improved your Thrones of Britannia experience :)

As for the tech system, I don't really see it being any more of an issue than it is in vanilla. There may be many more turns in a year but the campaign itself still plays out at the same pace. A typical playthrough will still take the same number of overall turns even if it only spans the lifetime of your starting king.
Ed 6 Jan, 2019 @ 3:59pm
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for making this mod. It improves the game IMHO considerably and gives lesser players like me more of a chance :) My only concern is that it means you can exhaust the tech tree and traits grids well before the end of the game?
ManicMayo  [author] 31 Dec, 2018 @ 1:34pm
@JarodStern - Yeah, I would be careful about using other sub-mods alongside this. Since this edits the startpos file, basically the 'main file' that contains much of the game's information, I would say that majority of sub-mods are either wholly (cause crashes) or at least partly (cause bugs) incompatible with this. It is indeed a real shame for people who don't like many of the vanilla mechanics but it's unfortunately something I cannot change. My apologies.
Jaro 31 Dec, 2018 @ 8:44am
@ManicMayo - i test today and you mod work well alone ( 11 turn without crash ) but when i used other mods like : "Minor Town Garrisons" - "Seasonal effect" - "everyone is loyal" , he crashed to desktop every time :/
ManicMayo  [author] 31 Dec, 2018 @ 6:51am
@JarodStern - I'm sorry to hear that. Is this something you're experiencing with all factions? Are you running any additional sub-mods?
Jaro 31 Dec, 2018 @ 5:26am
i love it but i don't know why the game freeze and crash to desktop after 2-3 turn
Iron 27 Dec, 2018 @ 7:45am
awwww shit u are good and fast at this, thanks alot !!!! was waiting for you to add this!
