Touch of Cinnabar+ isn't really out of hand - keeping the Plate Armor around is very tough on A20. After the cost of Lifeforce Net was jacked up, I think the biggest remaining culprit in the OP olympics (barring Fear of Death, maybe?) is Bloodsoaked Veil. It's like getting an excellent roll off of Pandora's Box stapled to a drawback-free energy relic.
But there's one thing I've always been wondering: Why do Mayhem, Duplicating Potions and other means of randomly playing cards from your deck for free deduct the energy for the card? I triple checked at this point but vanilla doesn't have this behavior. Is it a bug or a feature?
I thought it was a joke where she had transposed 1 gold coin from the other characters to her, and that's why they all start with 99 instead of 100, while she starts with 101
The royal character literally wearing gold gets to start with more gold than anybody else because showing or modifying starting gold at all is a clear antique of a base game listing but she should still have a little more anyway. If 2 gold has ever made or saved a run more than 0.0001% of the time I'd be deeply surprised.
Is the number 101 important to her character? Or is it a joke because 99 + 101 = 200 or something?

Awakened One can't keep up with most passable Administrix builds, between other Artifact cards and Yin's / Yang's simultaneous offense + defense. In comparison, Donu/Deca directly threaten the lack of upfront power and Time Eater hurts both Daybreak & Nightfall gen. Other base characters already have biases like this (hi Mantra).
If I'm convinced that this is a late-Ascension imbalance versus other builds with less intersection problems (not touched upon once yet), then I'll nerf it, or swap Thorns and Armour on this and Mix of Mercury .
In the base game, there is no renewable source of either artifact or plated armor (or metallicize), they either exhaust or are a power, while this card is basically a spammable one energy metallicize if you stack it up enough.
Also in not being a power the awakened one can't keep up with your armor generation..
(Alternate dials for upgrading Touch of Cinnabar are awkward to adjust: a reusable two Artifact from 1 energy is bad, the Frail's at a precarious point, and a three-status Common doesn't want for an Exhaust line.)
If I worried about balance before, say, A10 (as most mods are balanced to), I'd nerf it to 1 and 3 Plated Armour. For the past year, though, I've shifted focus onto my own project's contents rather than screwing around further in Spire mods (outside of tossing together adjustments whenever an update causes crashes).

I managed to win once by stacking artifacts like you said, along with plated armor and thorns. Still learning what card to play before another to keep the stats... Thanks for the card tips, immortal purity was one i used to skip but it's a pretty strong 1 mana block with all the discards and the plot going around
I don't know how you managed to fit so many mechanics into one character. Pretty impressive!
* It's better to build to one or the other of Yin and Yang, outside of a small number of cards that have plenty of value outside of that (e.g. upgraded Blessings ) or for a rather specific build once you already have a stat + Artifact engine (strategy of cards that gain both like Noble Path and Armillary Sphere , then play Harmonic Reverence , then Wuji or Transcension ). It's kind of the point of the character in her original source that she's not good at balancing the Tao.
* Non-Rare Yin and Yang building: Syncretic Plunge , Passage of Ages , and Shadow Play+ help basically all Yin decks get off the ground, while Syncretic Surge , Centuries Ascent , and Trick of the Light+ do the same for Yang decks. Cast Off Regrets for either has many absurd interactions with any Affinity sources.
* You can discard Plot cards when Transposing to get their effects. Most decks want to churn through plenty of draw / discard / Transposing to abuse Plot effects for spare defensive options.
* Most runs' decks also want to abuse gaining Artifact to make temporary stat boosts on a bunch of cards last the whole combat (e.g. Plate of Antiquity , Sip of Sparks ). Most of the Artifact sources come with downsides or conditions or expensive costs, but most decks are fine with one Rebuke Desires for Act 1 elites or up to two Dreams Mausoleum past Act 1.
* Generally useful non-Rare cards for all builds: 17-Article Laser+ is one of the only upfront group damage sources, while Choose Your End and Harmonic Reverence are good at all times. Immortal Purity gets very strong in multiples with the other Immortal cards if you upgrade one or two of them too.

The only problem is that it takes me at least an extra hour to finish a run with this character because of the nature of her discard abilities. You're constantly fiddling around with your deck trying to find the best plot abilities for the moment, or which cards to put back.
