I like the class, really dislike the unnamed. Specifically, I hate that there's an in-game reward for spamming him. A big part of the replayability of StS is in its randomness, cobbling together what the game gives you into a cohesive strategy, and in how many risks you take early to end up stronger later. Taking away your relics and upgrades makes him 'difficult', sure, but it also messes up that replayability. Add to that that the design seems very focused on punishing specific strategies and encouraging others, and unnamed runs start to feel very samey very fast. Not even just in the final act, either. You need to start building towards one of the unnamed's 'allowed' strategies in act 1, and you can't build around a cool relic, or your deck will fall apart at the end when you lose it. So you just have to do the same handful of builds over and over, because the design makes that the only way to beat him consistently.

Just wanted to thank you for making this mod. I've had dozens of hours of fun playing it <3 (still haven't beaten the mod's version of Act 4)

By the way, there also exists an unreleased alternative newer version [drive.google.com], which doesn't add anything new, but it has some balance changes and minor bugfixes. It isn't necessarily better than the other unless you are looking for more balanced cards/combos.

@swiftangelx the only step in the installation is placing the .jar in /mods folder. It will then take priority over the workshop version when running the game. Confirm it is in the right place by clicking the folder icon in ModTheSpire, it should show version 3.9.1, and it will have no steam logo to the right. Try also switching/creating a profile from the dropdown above the mod list.

I absolutely love your mod and have honestly played it 20x more than the base game.
I'd love to try your new version, but cant figure out how to get it working. I've put it in the /mods folder, but it doesnt run and ModTheSpire doesnt seem to pick it up

Hi, I can't override the workshop version with the New Version [drive.google.com] because it has more bugs, some unfinished parts, and it has no localization, it only supports English.

Waiting for the new updates.

Very interesting mod, seems somewhat similar to Packmaster in which you get a deck of cards from different sets.

I'd like to ask why the mod on workshop isn't being updated when there seems to be a newer version.

I'm very glad to hear it, and it really makes me wish I still had the motivation to keep working on the mod.

I had a large update planned, with more cards and series and new mechanics, but I just can't bring myself to continue it...

For anyone interested TheAnimator [drive.google.com], has to be placed in "<SteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\mods\", note that some parts of it are unfinished and it is overall more complex than the workshop version.

大概是英文社区做mod的“通病”，整体数值很低而且运转不稳定。也经常会出现一大串关键字但是最后只是一张带毒刺击(大多数卡牌比原版四角色的可能还要差一些）
Overall value on cards seems to be on the low side. A lot of cards have complex conditions or keywords but tend to just not doing much. Personally think more filler cards are needed. And because of the restrictions on cards, card draws and growth both seem bad or at least not stable.
I do like the format on cards, but they are just different from base game, not used to them. Also recommend making a drop down menu on character select screen.

I'm going to have to agree with LUCK about the card quality. 80-90% of the cards just aren't worth using. Its not a question of "which of these possibly good cards should I take" so much as it is "which of these probably bad cards can I tolerate" or "which of these obviously terrible cards will screw me over the least". I say this after having unlocked every deck and sunk quite a bit of time into the mod. I want to like it, but its just very poorly balanced, and the mechanics are all overly complex for the minimal value they give. I just don't understand why I should care about them when their impact is generally negligible compared to the difficulty of even getting them to work in the first place. Its almost never worth it.

Also agree that the UI isn't great. Way too much going on.

Great mod but with the worst UI I've ever seen. Actually makes me not want to play the mod at all. The way the cards look. The way the cards fade when you are hovering one. The way the stats are displayed. All of it.

Most of the cards a hot garbage, the upgrades are sooooo damn weak too. Some upgraded version of cards are weaker then non upgraded cards from base set. And what are those garbage odds on getting rares, its like the only rare u get is every boss fight

No relics, no increased max HP, no potions, no gold, no card upgrades, no playing too many cards, no killing his minions without dying in 5 turns. No debuffing him, no buffing yourself, no dealing damage to him at all really. Terrible curses from the elites beforehand. Hell, no console commands either. Console commands beforehand get nulled.

I get you want extra challenge if you've played a game enough you want to mod it, but holy shit man. It doesn't feel like this is meant to be fun or possible.

用棺姬嘉依卡一次爬完了20。感觉棺姬嘉依卡的消耗体系很强，不需要黄卡不需要升级，初始那俩攻防白卡就好用。抓个一拳超人的戈留干修普，循环消耗回能完美配合。解决了初始太弱前期发育太难的问题。

素晴都打不过啊，好难啊

afk归来后也就这个mod还吸引我玩，因为实在太弱鸡...。目前乐趣就是碰运气升阶，磕磕跘跘15阶了。偶尔会抓到可以拿原版卡的那个遗物，对比一下就可以发觉好多卡根本就是原版阉割卡，难怪弱鸡的要死。不过可以理解。这么多动漫，给了各种系列不同的效果，这就是个代价，不然那么多不同的卡还要维持原版强度肯定很容易趋同。原版各个都是轻松20阶的主....

单卡强度都有功有防，看似效果多，但是想凑好一副算能打能防的牌可能打完第三层都未必能凑齐，无阶打起来和20阶没有区别，小怪揍半天，终局有额外路线boss无名，但是要收走你全部药水和遗物再补钱给你，行，当挑战打，那你把我所有升级过的卡全降级是什么意思，进路线第一个是战斗而不是商店或休息点，换钱没有任何意义，而且上来就是3个上百血的boss，每回合全员力量+2，还是全多段攻击，第二回合给你吃伤上百，打生打死上来终局，遗物药水换钱给你换来一顿殴打，乐

I mostly play this mod, and have for over two or three years. so i appreciate the complexity, it gives huge replayability. and while I agree that most of the cards do feel weaker than the base game, i still manage to create an op deck every now and then. I haven't managed to kill the new boss more than like three times and on ascension 1... I'm sure one can optimize and stuff, but il ike the variety and jumping in and not knowing what i am going to put together. Looking forward to the new release!!! the mod is absolutely awesome and basically it's own game with it's own style, i like it even more than vanilla. thx to the creators!!!

It's a fun concept, even if I have no connection to more than half the series represented. But it feels complex for the sake of being complex which isn't very fun, most of the cards don't even have any real synergy within their own series. Boost is practically worthless without some good RNG card drops, and even then is far less efficient than vanilla stat boosters. Just feels all around very weak.

Alot of neat things but its hard to make a good deck with it since it is all so spread out, seems to be trying to do to many different things and then failing at all of them. With good enough rng it probably runs great but requires alot more luck than other things you could be running instead.
