hello, i downloaded this mod a yesterday and i have cargo saddle unlocked but i still cant find it in the smithy

Since you're installing the dev kit again and updating the mod, I'd like to report I've ran into the same issue that Shanton reported earlier. I run single player and every time I restart the game the boxes will show individual item weights as reduced, but the total box weight doesn't show any reduction. I've noticed it on the ship and the cargo saddle. Both ship and mount will register the full weight into their total. Only other mods I run are the CG Super Spyglass and Item Grinder, but I've tested without them running.

@Azarikesh Sounds like it's time to install the dev kit again!
Azarikesh 4 Feb, 2022 @ 10:31am
Hey, sorry to be a bother. It seems like there have been some changes to engrams since you last updated the mod. While it can still be spawned in and appears to function as it should, it doesn't look like you can actually learn the blueprint, and it's not showing up in the smithy.

Just a heads up.
Stormyfire 12 Jan, 2022 @ 6:31am
myself and some friends use this mod and have issues with it not registering after server reset.
not sure if others are having the issue but is there a way to fix this
TrevorJD  [author] 21 Nov, 2020 @ 11:47pm
Hi everyone, I just ran up a Blackwood singleplayer with no other mods, and the current version works fine. No crashes or strange behaviour that I found. I have updated the description with some more info that might help people.

@flashion-paradise Not a bad idea but I'd rather not push an update unless I need to. I'll change the defaults if we need to push a bug-fix later. I have listed the location of the gameusersettings.ini in the description above.

@Yarkhs @lealicesan77 There are 4 variants of the box and you can use T to cycle between them, just like other ATLAS building parts.

@Shanton I wasn't able to duplicate that. Is it still an issue now?

@AutoXtacy Sorry for the long delay. As of today, I wasn't getting any crashes. If you're still playing, perhaps you'd have another look and see if it's still a problem.
Tezuki(Zukie) 18 Nov, 2020 @ 1:13am
My idea would be to set as default value direct to 0.5 For who need to save weight nd dont know doe the setting. then they get the mod and be directly happy xD. and for who want to change setting from why the mod is making, have less save weight by exemple can do the setting by the ini.
Tezuki(Zukie) 18 Nov, 2020 @ 12:59am
My self i dont know where i have to go to find the file to change the weight ( i looked in my folder where atlas is installed but cannot find.
Tezuki(Zukie) 18 Nov, 2020 @ 12:57am
lealicesan77 Use "T" to change the forme of the box 2 of the T option can be placed on the ship
Grizzly Bob 12 Nov, 2020 @ 4:40pm
Thank you, getting the mod, Thanks for this
Yarkhs 12 Nov, 2020 @ 9:23am
Yeeeey. Pls do this. Its gonna be a life saver having such item inside my ship.
TrevorJD  [author] 10 Nov, 2020 @ 7:29pm
It worked at the time :) I'll fire up the dev kit again soon(tm) and see if I can understand what I did back then :P
Yarkhs 3 Nov, 2020 @ 9:34am
The mod says "can be placed on Ships" but in-game says "can't place cargo box on a ship".
lealicesan77 18 Jul, 2020 @ 5:16am
it says: "can't place cargo box on a ship" when i try to place it.
Shanton 14 Jul, 2020 @ 11:30am
I was really excited about the mod and I love the design, but being placed on a ship it will suddenly stop reducing the weight of the items placed inside upon restarting the game (single player).
I was really hoping to be able to make long journeys discovering the map and taking all the necessary resources with me as I go.
I really hope this can be fixed.
AXC629 3 Apr, 2020 @ 8:29am
Love this box so much but when I add this mod to my single player game and only this mod my game crashes when I exit now almost every single time. Hope this gets fixed. TY

The Cargo Box needs More Life 500 its to low one Tiger and the Cargo box is gone pls 8000 life light the other Large Storage Boxes in the game
TrevorJD  [author] 16 May, 2019 @ 7:58pm
I can't at the moment, sorry. PC can't run the dev kit. If/when I can find a job, I'll look into that.
ShadowStr 15 May, 2019 @ 4:45am
Make the ship cargo box like the stackable normal ship box
󠀡󠀡 6 May, 2019 @ 4:25am
Just thought I'd share that I tested whether this happens on the Cargo Saddles too and it reduces weight fine between restarts. It appears to be isolated to ship based cargo boxes/resource boxes.
󠀡󠀡 4 May, 2019 @ 5:23am
P.S. I've not tested whether this happens to cargo boxes on land (e.g. saddle), but it definitely happens on ships.
󠀡󠀡 4 May, 2019 @ 5:22am
Sorry for the delayed reply. @Jerryn I'm not using any other stacking or weight mod at this time, just Cargo Boxes. On every restart the cargo boxes appear to lose their weight reduction state and subsequently any items in them have to be taken out and put back in so that this is resolved.
Jerryn 21 Apr, 2019 @ 11:26am
@Ixel
Are you using any other mods, besides this, like a stacking mod?
TrevorJD  [author] 17 Apr, 2019 @ 9:21pm
That's quite interesting. I doubt that there's anything I can do about that. The setting of values is done before objects are created. I wouldn't know where to begin troubleshooting that. If I get more reports of a similar nature, I'll consult the dev discord and see if anyone has any ideas.
󠀡󠀡 16 Apr, 2019 @ 3:06am
On my cluster myself and some players have noticed that if a server crashes the box temporarily loses the weight reduction status. This has unfortunately resulted in a ship or two being sunk. Otherwise this is a nice mod.
TrevorJD  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 11:08pm
@smkngto They shouldn't be any more or less durable than other wooden boxes. By design, they're not repair boxes. They're a safe place to put cargo. This is so it's not too badly overpowered. Neither are configurable and I have no intention of updating the mod unless something breaks.
SMKNGTO 11 Mar, 2019 @ 1:59pm
@TrevorJD Is there a way to adjust durability? They seem to destroy very easy.
Also it there a way to make [CargoBox] ShipCargoResourceBox work with ship repairs and to pay NPC's?
Balcifer 27 Feb, 2019 @ 5:15pm
anyone else not seeing the cargo box in smithy?
TrevorJD  [author] 24 Feb, 2019 @ 6:32pm
@Kaillzzraham, That's intentional. It's a box for cargo, not ship maintenance. Your customer would not be happy if you used his cargo for your ship repairs!
KailIzzraham 17 Feb, 2019 @ 1:15pm
All the boxes are reducing weight, but for some reason, the ship resource box you can not pull mats from it to repair your ship like you can with the vanilla version.
TrevorJD  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 6:32pm
Yeah, it's a bit silly that the isn't a "Use one gus.ini for all servers" but hey, you gotta work with the tools you've got!
Dreke 12 Feb, 2019 @ 6:14pm
lol i was hopeing i didn't have to do that was going to be my next step, thanks for responding and keep up the good work:)
TrevorJD  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 5:42pm
@Dreke I just set my test server to 0.2 for all 4 and rebooted it and all 4 boxes are correctly reducing weight on resources and items. 50% is the default reduction for cargo boxes. It could be that you're not using the correct gus.ini. If you're running a standard 'seamless' cluster, there is a separate gus.ini for each server in your cluster.

On my test server, the path is: C:\atlasserver\ShooterGame\Saved\B2\Config\WindowsServer\GameUserSettings.ini
Dreke 11 Feb, 2019 @ 9:37pm
my settings don't seem to be working i have them in the gus.ini and set yo 0.1 for all boxes but a large gunport in my player inventory weighs 20.0 but in the box it weighs 10.0, thats only half the weight and i have it set to reduce it by 90%.
TrevorJD  [author] 10 Feb, 2019 @ 2:39pm
@Crankey That's correct. It's a cargo box. Your customer would be very displeased if you used their valuable cargo for something silly like maintaining your ship!

@Omen Unfortunately there's nothing I can do for that. My mod uses the game-provided function to "initialize" my values into gus.ini. That function should only run if the value is missing. It should never remove a value and should never overwrite a value. It's possible that there's a bug in it but that's something for Grapeshot to fix. Another possibility is if you're using a hosted service or a server management tool, it may be overwriting your ini file(s) with a backup version. Sorry I can't be of further help.
Crankey 10 Feb, 2019 @ 1:45pm
@Starbuck, I don't believe the cargo box is a resource box for repair materials. just to hold cargo only.
Omen 10 Feb, 2019 @ 8:59am
@TrevorJD For some reason, our settings are removed from gus.ini on restarts. It looks like if there is a cargo box of a certain type in that region, then the config stays but if there are no cargo boxes of a specific type, the settings are removed from the configs.

Example, I have no cargo boxes in B2. I have cargo box and ship cargo box in B1. I put config for all 4 types in both regions gus.ini. Restart the server and B2 removed settings and B1 removes all but settings for cargo box and ship cargo box.

I hope this is enough information.
Starbuck 10 Feb, 2019 @ 5:32am
There is actually one thing that do not work properly, we tried to install the Ship Resource Box, it does reduce the weight but the Repair Hammer do not see the repair mats in it.
Starbuck 9 Feb, 2019 @ 6:40pm
Ok i missunderstood :D
TrevorJD  [author] 9 Feb, 2019 @ 5:01pm
Yes, that's what I said. It's a multiplier on the normal weight.
1.0 is 100% (no reduction)
0.1 is 10% (of original weight)
Starbuck 9 Feb, 2019 @ 11:46am
Trevor JD in fact 0.1 is 10% of the normal weight. So 0.1 make it 90% weight reduction.
Starbuck 8 Feb, 2019 @ 5:03pm
Thanks !
TrevorJD  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 4:47pm
It's a multiplier over the normal weight. So...
0.1 is 10% of the original.
0.5 is 1/2 the original.
1.0 is 100% (no reduction).
Starbuck 8 Feb, 2019 @ 4:21pm
TrevorJD, nice mod, i have a question, the ini setting is set at 0.5 for 50% reduction, if i want it to be only 20% i've to set it at .8 or .2 ?
TrevorJD  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 3:41pm
What I will do is one swifty update later today. As the CargoResourceBox isn't a real resource box, I'll change the model to something else so folks don't get too disappointed when it doesn't behave like a resource box.
TheChad 8 Feb, 2019 @ 6:08am
Yo, you're a stud for taking this on! I'd let the dust setting on what you have accomplished on this mod and let it get burnt in on a few servers then you can filter through some feedback. These one off requests of this and that will drive you nuts. Lol @ open only with anchor shit. I'll get you some feedback if you want after a week or so running this on our 7x7 with a few hundred people, but the custom config is a HUGE win. Thanks again, you're a rock star and we all appreciate the TIME you spent on this.
Crankey 8 Feb, 2019 @ 5:56am
Totally understand Trevor. I don't think their argument is sound as a resource box should hold sufficient mats for hundreds of repairs with little effect on the ships weight capacity already. Either way its a nice mod - than-kyou o7
TrevorJD  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 5:51am
I could set the ShipCargoResourceBox to behave in the same way but then I'd irritate the people that are already complaining that the cart 'resource' box doesn't stack! Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

For now, I'll leave things as they are. Doing checks for "is the ship anchored, don't let them open the box" is way beyond my skill. Unless I get a swarm of people asking for this feature, I don't see a need to waste my already limited brain cells figuring it out. :)
TrevorJD  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 5:51am
Oh good grief! Some people are never happy! :)

The whole point of having separate cart and ship versions was so that server owners could adjust for their server's balance. Any weight reduction at all is arguably OP by someone's definition.

The CargoResourceBox isn't a real resource box because I physically can't meld "put on a cart" with "behave like a resource box". Instead it's just a big ass box that only permits raw materials in it. So for example, server owners might permit a higher reduction on raw mats than on pre-built structures.
Crankey 8 Feb, 2019 @ 4:39am
Excellent news. :) great job.
I don't agree with them but have a couple of players arguing that having resources available for repair in such large qty's that don't weigh the normal amount, would make a ship op in PVP. Would there be an option to only permit the box be opened when the ship is anchored. This would then hush the dissenters and on a role play side only have access to the materials in the cargo box in a harbour/anchored state.
