Just a heads up.
not sure if others are having the issue but is there a way to fix this
@flashion-paradise Not a bad idea but I'd rather not push an update unless I need to. I'll change the defaults if we need to push a bug-fix later. I have listed the location of the gameusersettings.ini in the description above.
@Yarkhs @lealicesan77 There are 4 variants of the box and you can use T to cycle between them, just like other ATLAS building parts.
@Shanton I wasn't able to duplicate that. Is it still an issue now?
@AutoXtacy Sorry for the long delay. As of today, I wasn't getting any crashes. If you're still playing, perhaps you'd have another look and see if it's still a problem.
I was really hoping to be able to make long journeys discovering the map and taking all the necessary resources with me as I go.
I really hope this can be fixed.
Are you using any other mods, besides this, like a stacking mod?
Also it there a way to make [CargoBox] ShipCargoResourceBox work with ship repairs and to pay NPC's?
On my test server, the path is: C:\atlasserver\ShooterGame\Saved\B2\Config\WindowsServer\GameUserSettings.ini
@Omen Unfortunately there's nothing I can do for that. My mod uses the game-provided function to "initialize" my values into gus.ini. That function should only run if the value is missing. It should never remove a value and should never overwrite a value. It's possible that there's a bug in it but that's something for Grapeshot to fix. Another possibility is if you're using a hosted service or a server management tool, it may be overwriting your ini file(s) with a backup version. Sorry I can't be of further help.
Example, I have no cargo boxes in B2. I have cargo box and ship cargo box in B1. I put config for all 4 types in both regions gus.ini. Restart the server and B2 removed settings and B1 removes all but settings for cargo box and ship cargo box.
I hope this is enough information.
1.0 is 100% (no reduction)
0.1 is 10% (of original weight)
0.1 is 10% of the original.
0.5 is 1/2 the original.
1.0 is 100% (no reduction).
For now, I'll leave things as they are. Doing checks for "is the ship anchored, don't let them open the box" is way beyond my skill. Unless I get a swarm of people asking for this feature, I don't see a need to waste my already limited brain cells figuring it out. :)
The whole point of having separate cart and ship versions was so that server owners could adjust for their server's balance. Any weight reduction at all is arguably OP by someone's definition.
The CargoResourceBox isn't a real resource box because I physically can't meld "put on a cart" with "behave like a resource box". Instead it's just a big ass box that only permits raw materials in it. So for example, server owners might permit a higher reduction on raw mats than on pre-built structures.
I don't agree with them but have a couple of players arguing that having resources available for repair in such large qty's that don't weigh the normal amount, would make a ship op in PVP. Would there be an option to only permit the box be opened when the ship is anchored. This would then hush the dissenters and on a role play side only have access to the materials in the cargo box in a harbour/anchored state.
