side though have you considered making a black beam option ? or im not sure how they did it but make the beam so the player can color it like the 2cm system did (seen it on jack rpg youtube)

I thought their beams merged and they became more powerful...

Basically the "collision" detection area for each bullet is larger than the visible tracer, which is what we scale and adjust to make beams like these, and so the beams appear and disappear further away than they should, and if you're close enough to the target, they can fail to appear at all
