@gldnpony First subscribe to the mod, then in the game launcher press mod manager and activate the mod, this is pretty much it.

No you do not have to start a new game, mod only changes the visual appearance of units, perfectly fine mid game.

well i wasn't trying to create a 100% accurate representation of the period, the goal of this mod is to add more color & variety with what the vanilla texture/models have to offer and, make it aesthetically pleasing as possible, plus the pattern looks nice imo, in regards to historical aspect i will leave this job to you and your team to deliver in the upcoming "shieldwall mod" ;)

If I were you I'd replace the aegishjalmur pattern with something else, that symbol isn't historical to the period the game takes place
