I think all it does is overwrite some of the radious custom unit stats, which could affect balance. Although with a game like total war, and the fact that using mods usually makes multiplayer impossible to work; balance is not a huge problem when doing single player campaign (as much).
Especially considering the computer in Vanilla Thrones ( Campaign AI in particular) receives some pretty stupid handicaps behind the scenes in economy, upkeep, loyalty, etc. When playing on very hard, Even single-settlement factions can almost instantly spawn full stacks and they replenish to full in only a couple turns.
@Wimbiz it is purely for game play purposes, if it were historically correct then the average unit would have around 10 to 30 men in them and that's all, back in those days (in Britain at least) anything over 35 men was considered to be an army, with armies being made up of 2 or more units known as War Bands. 'large' armies in Britain would have been 300 - 600 men strong. If people are interested in a more historically accurate version of this mod then we will happily create a version for people, but as it stands the unit size changes are purely to affect the game play.
@Flavius Aetius, We haven't changed the ammo reload, it still only has three uses, have you got another mod which may be overwriting the ammunition refill active ?
1) Check if you are using any other mods which may be incompatible
2) Using the new load order feature, change our mod to 1 and Radious to 2 as that is what ours is at and works fine.
3) Unsubscribe from both mods, then resubscribe to our mod, then do the same for Radious
Bare in mind that the new loader sometimes requires you to deactivate a mod in the mod manager before deleting and unsubscribing, otherwise it can cause it to crash as it tries to load a mod that it wont be showing but still assumes is there.
if you are still having problems please get back to us and hopefully we can work out why they aren't working for you
Please not any mods in our compatibility discussion need re checking as they haven’t been tested since we last updated the mod, It might be that some are no longer compatible since our latest update, We will test again and update our compatibility discussion accordingly
When i came across this mod i was already 100+ turns in and had 7 armies roaming ( with tier 3 upgrades ) so if i had to retrain all of them it would be very expensive :P And random armies that take over a village and increase from 3 to 10 armies would all have the 300 stacks which is kinda unfair, but if you want to increase the difficulty for yourself :P
@R4MPZY I agree, it's best to start a new game, but that's completely up to the player, haha aside from the unit size changes, everything else is save game compatible right off the bat. I suppose it depends on how many turns in you are or how much money you have.
For a full change log please check the Change Log discussion page.
This occured during a siege battle I guess those units were a city garrison, so there's probably some conflict there... but in open field battles the reload button works as intended.
