idk if anyone else is having this, but i cannot get the connector and ejectors to actually eject anything
Arstotzka111 16 Oct, 2020 @ 5:24pm
Usually i dont ask creators of too much but...can you make a bucket wheel extractor like those from ANNO 2070 with 3 wheels? If not possible then its ok since this 2200T bucket wheel still does its job
D0oZ3yDuCk 13 Nov, 2019 @ 9:53am
i am also getting issues with the ejectors not working
Stally447 31 Jul, 2019 @ 4:30am
ejectors dont work
jetblade545 27 May, 2019 @ 1:59pm
octomoose ok thx
OctoBooze  [author] 27 May, 2019 @ 3:58am
I'm guessing that is in relation to projecting it, which is true. No subgrids can be projected. If you get that while pasting there might be server settings that inhibit that, recommend you go over them and double check server rules and settings.
jetblade545 27 May, 2019 @ 2:23am
i get this error mulitple grids are not supported. only the largest grid will be used
Hull Breach 12 Mar, 2019 @ 8:36pm
A tribute to Bagger 288?
[SASR] Ryan 12 Mar, 2019 @ 7:07pm
- yes that was since the latest build, also after a few hours of mining the thing likes to just tip to one side and not be recoverable forcing me to build another one.

- ah fair enough i will adjust the cut height and see how it goes ! \

- and fair enough i get that was just an idea i had haha.

OctoBooze  [author] 12 Mar, 2019 @ 5:25am
@Ryan Arrrgh... Okay. Ejectors not working since the latest build?
-On hill mode it only does 2 levels by design. Didn't see it necessary as during my testing it chomped away happily. If the cuts aren't close enough you can adjust the height of the top cut by adding more to the minimum distance for reeving to stop it from getting too high.
Likewise if the machine moves forwards too much you can reduce the timer "Swing End" to cut its motion shorter.
-Artificial Mass is nice, but I wanted counterweight blocks to look like concrete blocks used by real machines. Nothing stopping you from adding arties but there really shouldn't be any need on this build.
-I noticed it leaves floating gaps if you play ways away from it because the game culls some voxels, and spawns them in later. Nothing to be done about that I'm afraid :c
OctoBooze  [author] 12 Mar, 2019 @ 5:25am
@P3st|cIdE I know, but those require scripting while I try to make these builds work in pure vanilla servers. Would be a good option and I have set up two script blocks should people wanna expand upon it
[SASR] Ryan 12 Mar, 2019 @ 12:46am
also, on hill mode it seems to not want to do a lap of the middle section, it does the top and bottom repetatively but not the centre line..
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 11:24pm
seem to be having an issue https://gyazo.com/08a175f18a5677c0abb39d632858b0ed
this keeps happening just bouncing back n forth with little spots missing, it seems like there almost need to be another drill 1 layer down in each corner to fix this.
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 10:19pm
also have you considered replacing the counterweight at the rear with artificial masses rather than just blocks?
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 6:44pm
so uhh... every time i get the ejectors working the whole machine starts jiggling and shaking and breaks into a million pieces being flung around my map... very awkward..
p3st|cIdE 11 Mar, 2019 @ 2:45pm
Camera blocks can be used to detect precise distance to terrain, using in-game scripts raycasts, just fyi
Tonatsi 11 Mar, 2019 @ 10:40am
@anyone who wants a storage truck: What about putting collectors on the underside of a container with walkways on top of it? it still allows collection IIRC and hides the Custard Conveyors
Bison 11 Mar, 2019 @ 8:48am
I see what you mean. So it may be more interesting on your BCE if the terrain is not flat enough. Thank's for your time man and keeps building, your machines are awesome :)
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 8:24am
Possible? Yes, absolutely. Just put a welder/grinder combo on to a series of pistons and have it run towards the mountain while welding and grinding off when returning.
Useful? No. Currently the BWE can take a 4-5m deep bite off the terrain, but the timing of forward movement only leads it forwards roughly 3m meaning it'll never go too deep. It doesn't therefore need a measuring device active all the time, however a mountain detecting sensor would be a great failsafe.
Bison 11 Mar, 2019 @ 8:19am
OK fine, so you have to use blocs. When the swing ends, a bloc must be installed (projector&welder) and a sensor could detect it and act on pistons isn't it ? I think it's possible don't you engineer ? ;)
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 8:04am
They do not... Otherwise I'd use them to keep the distance correct for each swing... Sensors can be set to detect asteroids, in which case they detect the gravity (or was it atmosphere...) of a planet. Useless in our scenario.
Bison 11 Mar, 2019 @ 8:02am
Automatic working height adjustment and self-moving but I can't remember if sensors works with planets voxel actually...
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 7:47am
Fixed missing conveyor (Damn nicely spotted!) Not quite sure what you mean with sensors though? It has necessary for "smart" rotation but beyond that there isn't really anything to do with sensors at the moment.
Bison 11 Mar, 2019 @ 7:41am
Hi, nice build as usual :) I think you have to put a conveyor on the drill number 27 (it's not a joke lol) Put some sensors and that thing should be the best autonomous shovel that an engineer can build !
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 7:20am
As many as the game renders... They tend to despawn too quick, hence my current focus at trying to create a version of the truck with collectors on the bottom... quite a challenge since any storage block looks like hot ass on it not to mention the rancid yellow on the collectors.
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 7:14am
do you know roughly how many pieces of ore / stone ejected the tip truck can hold? haha
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 7:13am
oh yeah i was mucking around with that but somehow got it to function but that's awesome you fixed it up i thought i may have just been doing it wrong haha.
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 7:03am
Fixed some other minor issues, hill mode seemed a bit defunct if used as a start condition due to double order on turn which made it lock up.
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 7:00am
yeah no problem mate, really love the idea. ill keep playing around and see what else i can manage to break lol
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 6:56am
Mode indicators have been added! Discharge boom overhaul is still quite a ways away. Thank you for the feedback, been awfully quiet on these machines compared to my TBMs. Feedback is what drives improvement, so keep it coming :)
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 6:52am
awesome should let me know when it is on so i can re-input with the screens ! ahha :D
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 6:47am
I'm currently trying to rework the entire discharge boom to look nicer... For full automation mode a full flowthrough is required or else the large cargo will eventually fill and the machine will store in the drills... Nothing to be done about that, recommend you build a sorting station in where you dump like the real thing.

A hill/level mode indicator can be added really quick. Can't believe I actually forgot to include that! This is what you get for building in such a "flow" state that I guess! I'll remedy that immediately
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 6:42am
Also screens showing whether it is in Hill or Level mode like the smaller one would also be ideal haha
[SASR] Ryan 11 Mar, 2019 @ 6:30am
np i found the broken piece not long after posting this haha!

also another suggestion. in the conveyor line behind the cargo contain perhaps put a second sorter only allowing stone to get through.. so you can choose what to load you trucks up with

not just eject all :) working very well for me i might add.
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 6:16am
Fixed!
OctoBooze  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 5:54am
It's because of a damaged conv piece... could be that you dropped it from too high or I cocked up somewhere and did that myself. I'll have a runthrough the thing and find the damaged piece.
Thank you for letting me know!
Tonatsi 11 Mar, 2019 @ 3:58am
Yes
p3st|cIdE 10 Mar, 2019 @ 4:39pm
You're serious about this excavating thing, aren't you?

OctoBooze  [author] 10 Mar, 2019 @ 10:23am
@spiritplumber You have no idea how many times I played that track during the construction of this build hahaha! Certainly the theme song for it.
Birdan 9 Mar, 2019 @ 3:13pm
wow your builds are great.
GreenNarwals 9 Mar, 2019 @ 10:24am
There it is! Nice : ) Impressed to see you follow threw with these so soon after your first one.
Tonatsi 9 Mar, 2019 @ 6:29am
I needed this.
I did not know this.

nice
OctoBooze  [author] 8 Mar, 2019 @ 10:58pm
@AdorableKitteh Bucket wheel excavators are used primarily for mining hills and mounds. A solution to your problem exists though and is called a bucket chain excavator. A long string of drills to scrape off vast amounts of overburden (Material above ore vein) incidentally makes for a PERFECT ice harvester!

Releasing very soon after I can work out some final issues.
AdorableSparrow 8 Mar, 2019 @ 10:50pm
can you make it so the bucket can go deeper into the ground on flat mode. we been useing it in survival. but it doesint go deep anuf for ice
