I wish there was a way to make mechs like this for newer players

@Thicc Boi A :
updates :its a year old, and I am not back on FTD for another 6 months,I will have a look then

it only spawns the legs, and it doesn't walk, it kinda hovers and its legs contort into horrifying positions.

It took 3 of us but should have true walker by end of summer 2019

Really good walkers. walkers are something that I would love more of in FTD.

this, ive got an amphibious, quadruped destroyer that looks like a weird salamander, and can autounomusly switch between water mode, and land mode, where its legs deploy and start a full on walk-cycle(look at me just bragging here about how cool this thing is) but its practically useless on land due to the absence of friction in the engine, so for now it just looks cool(and is actually really good in sea combat) but ive been waiting for friction to be added to the game before i go any further with developing it

or just a block with high ground friction

Dam that would be cool, someone needs to tell Nick and Gladen
TruBlu 21 Mar, 2019 @ 6:30am
i meant that the Dev's create a new kind of sticky block that sticks to land surfaces, it can always work because theres always land, even underwater
Rough Laser Surgeon 21 Mar, 2019 @ 6:28am
looking pretty pepic

@Chaz, thanks man but after talking to a few experts Im gonna go with LUA, which will set me back a few weeks or months but opens up a lot more options

@BlueShel walkers are average combat systems at best but they look cool, FTDs land physics are an interesting combination of genius and madness, not sure I can grab it
Chaz 20 Mar, 2019 @ 9:19pm
Im pretty sure you can use complex control blocks to constantly activate a single key
TruBlu 20 Mar, 2019 @ 7:11pm
if walkers are so great why not they just make blocks that grab onto ground surfaces?
RandomNOOBY  [author] 20 Mar, 2019 @ 7:17am
Latest version moves like a raptor but requires constant pressing of Y and I keys, will upload for weekend
RandomNOOBY  [author] 20 Mar, 2019 @ 4:03am
those air pods though
Eventually this or something like it will be a stable modular 2 legged walker platform that people can easily convert and add more weapons to and make it look like pretty much any scifi raptor walker they like, unless someone else gets there first which would also be dam cool
skycrue 20 Mar, 2019 @ 3:29am
WOW you are my hero
Chaz 19 Mar, 2019 @ 10:20pm
And the pristine Air Pods of course
Chaz 19 Mar, 2019 @ 10:20pm
And then only a smoldering pile of ash remained.

@warmechanic, with LUA code the timing would be perfect and fairly easy, but I dont speak LUA well and I prefer ACBS for their noob friendly factor, not sure wether to make this 1 event driven, timing driven, or have 2 control ACBS swithching the others on and off in sets, its gonna take a while but it should walk like some kind of animal eventually, looking forward to seeing how you and others improve this system.

ACB walker. Hmmm. I may look into this new fangled mechanic.
WarMechanic 19 Mar, 2019 @ 1:44pm
This is the dawn of a new coming. I need to take a look at this as I haven't been able to make an ACB walker yet
