This class itself doesn't change any of the PCS code at all. The only thing that was wrong was the comment I made below. It's likely caused by a different mod.
My problem occurs when i try to put PCS into other non "Solo operative class"
Step 1: Go to...
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFClasses_LW2
Step 2: Open up...
XComClassData.ini using Notepad or something similar.
Step 3: See...
the first line with "aStatProgression=((StatType=eStat_Offense,StatAmount=20), etc.."
Step 4: Simply add (StatType=eStat_CombatSims,StatAmount=1), Make sure it has a comma and () like the others. Order shouldn't matter here, but it's usually right before eStat_HP.
Or don't try to add a PCS slot to the Solo Operative Class soldiers.
I've played for many hours with this class without doing the fix above and it's not crashing for me.
@gzl5000, Hi there! It’s always -7 aim at mission start. However every kill *should* provide +1 aim. As long as you get 7 or more kills on every Ace mission you should be fine. I didn't realize that some kills didn't provide +1 aim, that's new to me. If you notice what kills aren't being included please let me know.
Let's see...If you've done 15 missions (guess) with the Ace and you have 53 kills, that would be -52 aim, but I don't know how many you've done.
To fix your current game since your Ace is pretty much useless now, you want to edit the ini file to give your Ace aim when you deploy. That way you can set it to +40 at mission start and only deploy your weak Ace. Should be pretty balanced then, just make a shortcut to the folder on your desktop so you can change it back afterword. If you save after the mission, your stats from the mission will be saved.
Step 1: To make the change go to
C: or D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFAce_LW2
Step 2: Open up...
XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini using Notepad or something similar.
Step 3: It's written at the top I think. Change the numbers to whatever you like. If you make the -7 positive then you can gain aim at mission start.
Hope that helps! Glad you’re still enjoying the mod! In the future I suggest killing as many enemies as you can to increase your aim early on. I know it’s next to impossible to remain on the ground long on most missions on hard difficulties because they drop so many guys.
In other news Ace officially doesn't support PCS (for now), as thematically the PCS slot is how the Ace has access to security cameras' Surveillance perk.
I have a log of little changes for the next update, but I don't want to ruin people's ini edits unless I have to.
You can fix it yourself really easily by:
Step 1: Go to...
C: or D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFClasses_LW2
If that's too much I'll just bite the bullet and update it. Though I'll have to re-download the 40GB base-game SDK to do so. Which I'm happy to do, I just want more updates first.
I still playing LW2 until today, even WOTC is launch. Thanks for support LW2.@Shining One
Thanks for supporting LW2!
I added only the LW2 Combat Engineer class and the required item LW Perk Pack. When I booted up without my mod selected it gave me this error (because Long War 2 says not to play with LW Perk Pack): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vPqSrrgeyVgWxP7ZqB-HJVE6IQ6MhXz4/view?usp=sharing .
I turned on my mod in addition to those two mods and the game won't start. So it's the LW Perk Pack and individual Shadows Ops classes.
MAYBE: You could try replacing the LW2 Perk Pack and it's 4 individual SO classes you're subscribed to with only the "Shadow Ops for LW2" mod and see if that works, but it may break your game. If it's Ironman, I wouldn't try it.
SOLUTION: On your next playthough exclude classes that require LW Perk Pack. And if you don't plan on another LW2 playthrough, wait a while and you can play it for WOTC or RPGO. Wish I had better news or could be of more help.
Would love a WOTC version.
I know Solo Operative class doesn't work with Auto Reload (as it causes problems with abilities), but it's not game-crashing, just annoying.
And it also doesn’t work with Reliable Smoke mod (as it uses Shadow Ops for its AWC component and its not compatible).
Step 1: Go to...
C: or D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFAce_LW2
Step 2: Open up...
XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini using Notepad or something similar.
Step 3: It's written at the top, you'll see the ability and your name. Change the numbers to whatever you like. I tested it once, it should work fine.
Have fun! And let me know if it's more fun. My concern is balancing with the other abilities (such as Bandage and Fearless). Also early game having 8 less aim would make it challenging when soldiers roll their aim stat poorly.
I'm going to make that change so that you can test it for me (you'll have to edit a text file, really easy). Give me ten minutes to set it up.
