@Sauzer Oh that's awful! That hasn't happened on my end. Are you using any mods that aren't in my "ESSENTIAL MODS" and/or "NON-ESSENTIAL MODS" lists linked in the mod's description above. Maybe we can track down what's causing this...
This class itself doesn't change any of the PCS code at all. The only thing that was wrong was the comment I made below. It's likely caused by a different mod.

Tanks for help !
My problem occurs when i try to put PCS into other non "Solo operative class"
Respect  [author] 23 May, 2020 @ 8:44am
@Sauzer yes, this is a mistake on my part, but it can be easily fixed on your end with these 4 steps. I'll add a note to the description.

Step 1: Go to...
\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFClasses_LW2

Step 2: Open up...
XComClassData.ini using Notepad or something similar.

Step 3: See...
the first line with "aStatProgression=((StatType=eStat_Offense,StatAmount=20), etc.."

Step 4: Simply add (StatType=eStat_CombatSims,StatAmount=1), Make sure it has a comma and () like the others. Order shouldn't matter here, but it's usually right before eStat_HP.

Or don't try to add a PCS slot to the Solo Operative Class soldiers.
I've played for many hours with this class without doing the fix above and it's not crashing for me.
Sauzer 22 May, 2020 @ 5:16pm
When use this mod and you go to the armory to put PCS intem at the soldier game crash.... whi !?

is this compatible with lwotc?

Either I missed it or I'm just dumb. What does the hardcore ability actually do other than put your ace in the med-bay after each mission. There's virtually nothing writting about it and no way to activate it. It seems like its useless.
gzl5000 27 Apr, 2019 @ 6:15am
Shining One, thank you! I’m not sure what is causing kills not to add to aim specifically. I did a mission with a different Ace recently and wondered if kills made while remaining in stealth (using Musashi’s stealth overhaul with suppressors and silent takedowns) were the problem. Kills while in stealth didn’t add aim sure enough, but that didn’t change once the Ace was revealed and continued murderin’. So I’m not sure what the issue is. In any case thanks very much for the mod and your help in trying to repair the effects of whatever conflict my game is having.

Part 1 of 2
@gzl5000, Hi there! It’s always -7 aim at mission start. However every kill *should* provide +1 aim. As long as you get 7 or more kills on every Ace mission you should be fine. I didn't realize that some kills didn't provide +1 aim, that's new to me. If you notice what kills aren't being included please let me know.

Let's see...If you've done 15 missions (guess) with the Ace and you have 53 kills, that would be -52 aim, but I don't know how many you've done.

To fix your current game since your Ace is pretty much useless now, you want to edit the ini file to give your Ace aim when you deploy. That way you can set it to +40 at mission start and only deploy your weak Ace. Should be pretty balanced then, just make a shortcut to the folder on your desktop so you can change it back afterword. If you save after the mission, your stats from the mission will be saved.

Part 2 of 2

Step 1: To make the change go to
C: or D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFAce_LW2

Step 2: Open up...
XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini using Notepad or something similar.

Step 3: It's written at the top I think. Change the numbers to whatever you like. If you make the -7 positive then you can gain aim at mission start.
Hope that helps! Glad you’re still enjoying the mod! In the future I suggest killing as many enemies as you can to increase your aim early on. I know it’s next to impossible to remain on the ground long on most missions on hard difficulties because they drop so many guys.
gzl5000 26 Apr, 2019 @ 8:50pm
Hey Shining One! Really enjoying this mod. Question though - I’m not clear if the -7 aim malus each mission is supposed to be every mission the Ace is deployed, or just on each mission that the Ace is deployed with other soldiers. In my game, I seem to be getting the -7 every mission even though they’ve been solo, and I don’t always get +1 aim back with each kill. My colonel Ace is now down to 54 aim despite 53 kills and is nearly useless. Not sure if it’s a mod interaction?

Aces essentially start with a Mind Shield (like what you can manufacture). Everything a mind shield prevents (panic, mind control, stun, and disoriented) Aces are immune to. https://xcom.fandom.com/wiki/Mindshield_(XCOM_2)
Master Chief 21 Apr, 2019 @ 9:04pm
and i also want to know what they are immune to in war of the chosen as well.
Master Chief 21 Apr, 2019 @ 9:02pm
or at least i dont think it does.
Master Chief 21 Apr, 2019 @ 9:02pm
I know it says the ACEs are immune to most mental debuffs but it doesn't say what kinds though.
Respect  [author] 21 Apr, 2019 @ 6:58pm
It's a special surprise that I need to mention up front with the perk. Not sure if there's a way to add the HP back right before mission end. I'll look into it.
Eric Phail 21 Apr, 2019 @ 6:08pm
Is Hardcore Intended to always put the soldier in sickbay?
Respect  [author] 14 Apr, 2019 @ 4:27am
Master Chief 9 Apr, 2019 @ 6:34pm
well shit i have a max ranked ace and i cant give him the long jump PCS well that sucks.
Respect  [author] 9 Apr, 2019 @ 6:08pm
This is a guess, I think depends on the rank of your soldier. All you'd need to do is add that line to a rank you haven't achieved on the character. So Instead of the first line with aStatProgression, do it to a later line. In theory that should work.
In other news Ace officially doesn't support PCS (for now), as thematically the PCS slot is how the Ace has access to security cameras' Surveillance perk.
Master Chief 9 Apr, 2019 @ 1:12pm
does it work for existing aces?
Respect  [author] 9 Apr, 2019 @ 9:40am
When I do it it's going to reset everyone's ini files, so unless there's a bigger issue (like something game-breaking) I'm going to hold off for now. But you can fix it.
I have a log of little changes for the next update, but I don't want to ruin people's ini edits unless I have to.
You can fix it yourself really easily by:

Step 1: Go to...
C: or D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFClasses_LW2

If that's too much I'll just bite the bullet and update it. Though I'll have to re-download the 40GB base-game SDK to do so. Which I'm happy to do, I just want more updates first.
Master Chief 9 Apr, 2019 @ 7:05am
Whats the ETA for the PCS fix?
Respect  [author] 5 Apr, 2019 @ 6:31pm
Yes, exactly. It's identical to the issue with Shadow Ops's Assassin perk, as the code is based on that ability. The issue appears to be connected to Long War 2's unique code, as the ability seems to work 100% of the time in WOTC with the exact same code. To my knowledge there isn't an ability that grants stealth on a trigger (not conceal or phantom) in base Long War 2, so there's no way I know of to make Blackmail work all the time in LW2. I've tried lots of things. If I find a fix I'll update the mod.
Eric Phail 5 Apr, 2019 @ 2:50pm
I suspect the inconsistent nature of the perk Blackmail is similar to one I have noticed on the Shadow Ops Classes (Infantry's Ready for Anything and Hunter's Assassin perk especially) they only work if you arrived at the battle by clicking launch mission on the geoscape. If you have have loaded a tactical save, or used the restart mission button they will not work. I would guess that the function that activates these perks doesn't get called unless you go through the pre-mission transition.
Respect  [author] 4 Apr, 2019 @ 9:22am
Originally this was going to be one of ten classes that I fully designed (around 240+ new perks), but programming them all would take a long time. You can read about them here: 10 New Classes
Master Chief 4 Apr, 2019 @ 8:57am
also what is the clone, looter, and surgeon classes?
Respect  [author] 4 Apr, 2019 @ 4:30am
@Master Chief, That's not intended. Thank you for bringing this up. I'll see what I can do for the next update. Only concern is that it will overwrite everyone's custom ini texts when I update it I believe.
Master Chief 4 Apr, 2019 @ 2:43am
my aces cant use PCS chips is that intended?
Rifle Man 3 Apr, 2019 @ 10:38am
A long war 2 class mod? Awesome.
I still playing LW2 until today, even WOTC is launch. Thanks for support LW2.@Shining One
Grc 30 Mar, 2019 @ 8:29pm
Enjoying this Mod.
Thanks for supporting LW2!
Respect  [author] 30 Mar, 2019 @ 6:20pm
@melcayah it's not the perk pack, but I can say it's 100% your individual Combat Engineer class (and probably the other 3 Shadow Ops classes), because that class caused me the same issue you were having. My guess is that all of the Shadow Ops Individual classes may have this problem, because I used their AWC and other things, but I took it from the Shadow Ops for LW2 mod, which is probably incompatible with the Individual Shadow Ops for LW2... Yeah my bad, I was wrong in blaming the Perk Pack! I will amend that.
melcayah 30 Mar, 2019 @ 6:17pm
@shinning one are you sure its lw perk pack?! because i dont run it. lw2 already has the perk pack by default so you can skip that requirement when a mod asks for it. But thanks anyway. If you are planning on porting to wotc i prefer to try it there. Also waiting for lwotc...
Lance Dunsten 30 Mar, 2019 @ 5:45pm
Great mod! Thank you for supporting LW2!
Respect  [author] 30 Mar, 2019 @ 5:09am
@melcayah The good news is I found what's causing the game not to launch with your mods.
I added only the LW2 Combat Engineer class and the required item LW Perk Pack. When I booted up without my mod selected it gave me this error (because Long War 2 says not to play with LW Perk Pack): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vPqSrrgeyVgWxP7ZqB-HJVE6IQ6MhXz4/view?usp=sharing .
I turned on my mod in addition to those two mods and the game won't start. So it's the LW Perk Pack and individual Shadows Ops classes.

MAYBE: You could try replacing the LW2 Perk Pack and it's 4 individual SO classes you're subscribed to with only the "Shadow Ops for LW2" mod and see if that works, but it may break your game. If it's Ironman, I wouldn't try it.

SOLUTION: On your next playthough exclude classes that require LW Perk Pack. And if you don't plan on another LW2 playthrough, wait a while and you can play it for WOTC or RPGO. Wish I had better news or could be of more help.
duanelocsin 30 Mar, 2019 @ 4:22am
Awesome class.
Would love a WOTC version.
teh1archon 29 Mar, 2019 @ 10:13pm
LW2 mod?! In 2019?! Good work :D
melcayah 29 Mar, 2019 @ 6:37pm
@shining one see my collection named lw2 mods and maybe you can figure it out whats preventing the game from launch when i enable your ace
melcayah 29 Mar, 2019 @ 6:18pm
@shining one thanks man i will make a list and hopefully you can help me out cause i really liked the theme of the ace class and would like to try it out.
Respect  [author] 29 Mar, 2019 @ 6:55am
@melcayah If you give me a list of your mods I can try trouble-shooting in the SDK. Maybe make a Collection of your enabled mods I can subscribe to?

I know Solo Operative class doesn't work with Auto Reload (as it causes problems with abilities), but it's not game-crashing, just annoying.

And it also doesn’t work with Reliable Smoke mod (as it uses Shadow Ops for its AWC component and its not compatible).
melcayah 29 Mar, 2019 @ 2:30am
@shinning one well i have alot of other mods enabled, yes lw2 too, especially class mods and i tried to enable this one mid campaign and the game stopped launching. i disabled it and it launches normally now. maybe i will try it again. fingers crossed...
Respect  [author] 28 Mar, 2019 @ 12:40pm
@Jose, it's done! You can now play it the way you wanted in your existing campaign. Just follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Go to...
C: or D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1695897994\Config\XCFAce_LW2

Step 2: Open up...
XComGameData_SoldierSkills.ini using Notepad or something similar.

Step 3: It's written at the top, you'll see the ability and your name. Change the numbers to whatever you like. I tested it once, it should work fine.

Have fun! And let me know if it's more fun. My concern is balancing with the other abilities (such as Bandage and Fearless). Also early game having 8 less aim would make it challenging when soldiers roll their aim stat poorly.
Respect  [author] 28 Mar, 2019 @ 11:58am
@Jose, interesting idea, in fact I think that's perfect for the RPGO version, since in it you can increase your base stats manually. So Thank You!
I'm going to make that change so that you can test it for me (you'll have to edit a text file, really easy). Give me ten minutes to set it up.

Respect  [author] 28 Mar, 2019 @ 11:47am
@melcayah The game isn't launching? That's odd. What other mods are enabled? Do you have the required Long War 2 included?
melcayah 28 Mar, 2019 @ 11:43am
seems like a fun class but the game doesnt even lauches when i enable it
José 28 Mar, 2019 @ 10:53am
I think that the permanent '-7' aim is overkill. I think that -15 or -20 temporary aim would be good enough for the same effect, if for whatever reason you have to send one of these guys in with the regular roster.
Darthmanick 28 Mar, 2019 @ 5:36am
Thanks of the LW2 love :steamhappy:
Whitemane 28 Mar, 2019 @ 2:09am
Yeah, would love to see RPGO conversion
VertigoJockey 27 Mar, 2019 @ 5:47pm
on the topic of WOTC, will there be an RPGO version of this?
