@JKingJ, that sounds like some weird stuff. There's a lot going on there and I expect part of it is interactions with other mods.

I don't know if this is a bug or a weird mod interaction, but a random 0 cost onion appeared in my deck that deals 235 damage to all enemies.
I also noticed that my deck kept growing in number of cards despite skipping every card reward in Act 2.
So I couldn't figure out how the onion got there.
Also, on the last boss (Clock boy in Act 3) I tried to play it and I randomly took (me not the boss) 9999 damage instead (the numbers popped up so fast I couldn't see what actually killed me).
This is not a joke, this literally happened to me on my first run with this character.
I have mods like chimera cards, downfall, biomes, etc. so I'm thinking something weird happened there. I don't think there's anything we can do about it, but its weird that it happened.

Got this crash after beating the heart. Admittedly I have a lot of mods so I'd need to dig a little if there's compatibility issues.

@TheReakEvab I'm hesitant to commit to any balance changes, since they can require a lot of playtesting, and it's tricky to hit a target that feels satisfying for players at all levels of investment.

I'm defintely happy to receive feedback around balance (or anything else)! I just won't make any promises right now. I hope that's understandable.

I've had this mod a while and I'm a big fan of the concept and the play. Is there any chance of getting a balance patch as well?

I'm working on a long-overdue update now, which will include a number of bugfixes.

the mod doesnt work on the latest version of sts, it crashes as soon as i start a new hayseed run

@Buttons: planting crops on the ground is a great suggestion, and is something I considered before. I just didn't get a chance to work out the code or design the layout for it.

I've got a few bugfixes in the queue (and a translation update I've been sitting on)—when I next get the opportunity to work on Hayseed, I'll consider looking into this again.

I love this mod. I just feel like the crops should be in the ground. Like... I don't mind if they slide around and stuff. But they really need to be in the ground. The slime boss mod has slimes on the ground. Maybe there's some code there you could use?

some of the relics also work in other mods too, like weed puller, is very useful for when you play longer / endless games, where you get Pride cards stuck in your hand every start of battle, so you can pull 2 of them out, and draw 2 new cards, which is handy :)

Uncheck hayseed curses in the config, restart and I still get them. Have to unsub cause nettles just ruins runs.

There is a nasty interaction with the Kinked Spring relic from Reliquary (took it on a boss chest because I thought the others were worse). On the Giant Parasite (Act 3 elite, modded?), you can get into a no win situation due to harvesting a single potato each turn...which prevents your discard from recycling (see kinked spring). While the Parasite gets stronger (gains additional strength and armor each turn...I think this may also have something to do with Beaked). Anyway...a whole bunch of mods conspired to end a run in a really dumb fashion...thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Great character. Had an amazing first run. Did a potato run going with the hidden blade then found both the kunai and the shuriken about 2/3's of the way through. Got the Awoken for a boss and quickly realised that the potato cards are powers, oh $&%#...! managed to stabilise and beat him with 17 HP left.

Looking forward to trying more decks. Always pleasantly surprised by ppl's ingenuity regarding mods. Just an excellent character, thanks for your contribution to the game.

This mod is awesome! The art is beautiful and the cards are really creative. One of the best characters on StS workshop.

Soil Sample is amazingly broken. It does EVERYTHING. Just for playing it you get all your crops grown, get up to three of your best cards back into your draw pile, and then get to play a card for free. Sundial (2 energy per shuffle) turns into a run winning artifact which is something I never thought possible.

My suggestion would be to put cards gathered from Soil Sample on the bottom of the draw pile, or even the top of the draw pile if you want a smaller nerf. Taking away the shuffle mechanic would make the card much more reasonable.

A+ mod! Thanks for making it!

not 100% on this since it only happened once
but i think there might be a bad interaction between moonshine and biorefinement
the card keeping the moonshine cost reduced by 1 instead of its original cost or its original cost -1
had a 2cost pruning in my deck for a few shuffles until i harvested it back down to 0

Pushed a change so Frostbite should now only trigger when in hand. Culling Strike now counts as a strike. Really appreciate the reports.

There's a bug with the Frostbite curse. If it is added to my master deck, the "increase cost" effects continue will happen even if the card is not actually in my hand (i.e. still in the draw pile). For the effect to stop, I need to draw that card, then either discard or exhaust it.

Unless this is the intended effect, in which case I believe the card description doesn't seem to elaborate on this highly harmful effect.

There seems to be an issue in an event from this mod that makes the game crash if, in my case, a character from another mod (The Astrologer) encounters that event.

Very beautiful mod. However, I just won by drawing my whole deck over and over with "go to market" and playing a zero-cost attack, and it was the exact opposite of fun. Right now go to market unupgraded is bad (compare to skim) and upgraded is broken (compare to battle trance). My suggestion would be to make it a backflip variant (block and draw cards) instead.

@thatguy, thanks for reporting the issue.

The inivisible lagavulin is actually a known base game bug! It's possible to reproduce with base characters in the unmodded game. I have seen it happen a couple of times with Hayseed, so it may be more likely to occur with mods or Hayseed in particular.

Would say this class is kind of lackluster power-wise. Like the aesthetic, but it's basically Defect without any of the immediately useful parts. Also the fact that, unlike the Defect, this class only gains value when the discard pile is shuffled into the deck or if you plant crops by other means which, cards like that are few and far between despite being a necessity to actually make use of the mechanic.

Very good mod, but I have found one bug:
If I choose "Lose your starting relic, gain a boss relic" at the start of run, Slay the Spire just instantly closes itself.
Upon selecting continue, I had no relics, or Cards, so even choosing a different starting gift, I can't do anything in the first fight.

I really enjoy this character. You should put some banjo music in the background! I also think, the potatoes are a little bit OP. Maybe 4 dmg oder 3-5 would be better?
