Though if we were to put modern leaders on it... Mullah Mohammed Omar would have been nice, oh well.
You should have put Ahmad Shah Durrani, and his Afghan empire. He was also in control of the military of the persian empire until it fell. He created a pretty big empire, making that the highest and most glorious period of the Afghan people.
Maybe you could, or someone else could, make another mod with him.
I don't know why mrktucson is saying they don't want to take Afghanistan, when they do. It has the most tactical position: Russia to the north, China to the north-east, Pakistan and its nukes to the east, Iran and their half completed nukes the west and Khazakhstan to the north east. Afghanistan borders Iran and Turkmenistan, the second and third largest oil reserves in the world. Now tell me, do you really think America would turn their back on that?
Tailban was on the US's payroll for 20 years after. So yes, America did defeat Afganistan and left because they have zero interest with colonizing Hill people in their native lands. Just putting a Boot up their butt tell they understand not to attack again in the name of Islam.
Hi guys thanks for the suggestions. I've updated the city name and also removed the "King" title so any titles that come before it make sense.
@Reed Cassidy: If you are playing against Afghanistan, the cities should have the Afghan flag like the other civs. If you're playing as Afghanistan, the flag doesn't show up (I don't know how to make it show up; plus I don't think the flag shows up on the city if you own it anyway?).
@Navllyk: The Hamam does not provide the +25% to great people generation. However, it also doesn't have the river requirement (just requires water [lake, ocean, river or oasis]).
@OhNoes: It's not that the Hamam provides 'food', its that it helps growth. Cleanliness and public health is improved by sanitation and everyone being cleaner. A cleaner, healthier population results in greater growth. It's the same idea with hospitals. The hospitals don't provide 'food' yet they provide +5 food (because they improve growth via eliminating diseases, helping sick people, preventative care, etc improving long term growth as well as immediate growth)
That said, this is an interesting idea for a Civ. The UA gives you a small advantage along with a large disadvantage, but in return you gain 4 powerful Uniques. (Also, does the Hamam replace the Garden, but does not retain the +25% GP generation?)
1. In game, the title of the leader is shown as "Lord King Zahir Shah". Is there any way to take out the "Lord" title? Or simply re-name the leader to Zahir Shah?
2. This empire's symbol (the Afghan flag) sould show up next to each city's name in the map view as it does for all the other civilizations.
3. I noticed when a settler founds a new city, some of the cities have the word "city" in the title (i.e. Kandahar City, when it should simply be Kandahar).
Aside from those suggestions, great mod!
Thanks.
