Being cautiously optimistic here - I've managed to get all FOUR Lord Nelson variants working together. Your original will be a required mod for them to work so that I can keep file size down.

Steve I know this may unlikely help but I think your fantastic and if you chose to release more or not it take a break I'm sure the majority will respect your own decision. If some dont like it then maybe they should learn to mod? I mean they're the ones who causes the entire community to suffer.

This exact reason is why I took a break from modding, and going to. Not sure if I want to release my B17 or whatever if people just gunna complain that I didn't add this or that. Ffs.

I have savegames break too. Often with hours of effort. But it's just a game. I just simply start a new one and don't make a huge fuss over a train game.

I did say before any posts here not about this mod would be removed. I'm only doing what o said I would.

I've tried once more with the Lord Nelsons but I cannot find a way for the various liveries to coexist alongside one another so I've binned that idea now. I'll use a BR one for my own use to overwrite your SR one, post-nationalisation, and don't intend to re-release anything. If you would like the textures yourself, please let me know.

Its not this mod.

Simply disable the mod from the mod list in the save game, as its just a repaint it shouldn't break anything, but I am not sure because it wasn't my mod.

Any more comments here regarding these mods that, may I say again, are not this mod or my own mod, will be deleted.

WTF IS GOING ON WITH THE LORD NELSON MODS FIRST OF ALL TWO SOURCES HAVE THEM THEN THE BR VERSION PAINTS OVER THE SOUTHERN RAIL ONES AND THEN THEY ARE REMOVED meaning anyone who got them when they first released can load their saves because transport fever deletes or dose not store old auto saves from more than 3 hours ago depending on how long you have been in game

If the problem is you can't load your save, why not just drop back to a previous autosave from before you applied the mods?

Can you not remove the mods? I'm not sure what's broken to be honest as it's not my mod. From what I saw Quince did nothing wrong with his mods, as they overwrote the existing textures.

I've built 4 different engines in the game - in theory - but all have the late BR livery! This is despite all the MDL files being named differently. Do you know what I should be doing to rectify this? If there's no obvious solution I'll remove all 3 of my reskins.

stevem4 can you let quince know that the BR livery textures seem to affect all lord nelson mods
be it sunshine or not.

whenever i try to select the right engine for the late 1920s, it seems to always come out as BR livery, really infuriating

I've worked out some more of the mapping relating to the Lord Nelson model - not ideal for lining the boiler barrel (too many stripes) but it works OK visually. I've also sorted out the custom sound so it now plays the sound files that come with your mod. It involved some file renaming and re-pathing and I amplified the WAV file for the whistle as it was too quiet in-game. Feel free to use reconfigured sound setup in your original mod! :)

The dome is the top-left hand corner of the map! I have not been able to do mapping so nearly all of my mods use some of the default mapping around a heavily altered mesh. For this engine its a heavily modified LNER A3 mesh that has been worked with. I do not have the knowledge to be able to generate my own .mdl and texture files.

I've been asked for a BR brunswick green version of your mod and have prepared most of the textures - mainly recolouring the green bits! There are a couple of areas where I've run into difficulty however, and there's probably nothing I can do about it:

1. Tender remains an SR model rather than BR as my 3D skills are about as good as weaving custard. People will have to live with that :)

2. Having changed the textures, there's still part of the dome that is showing SR's malachite green and I've done everything I can find on the opacity DDS file. Guessing how it maps to the model has been fun!

3. Due to the mapping it's not been possible to put the BR number on the cabsides without the text distorting, likewise the lining on the cabsides is not correct.

If you know anything about the dome it'd be hugely helpful, if not it'll have to go 'as is'.

That can work if you want. Unless you want to have both running side by side.
I'd say to include a modified .mdl file that alters the name of the engine (and anything else you want to alter) and some new loco icons that reflect the repaint.

You would still need this mod for dependencies regarding meshes and groups etc, but it will be a separate entity in the vehicle list.

No need for my approval, I am not the gatekeeper of mods! That goes for anyone else who wants to do repaints of anything I have done. I'll be the first to admit my texture work is not the best.

Steve.. I have just downloaded this model, the first one. The lua files are case sensitive and you have soundset in .mdl file as 'southern' and not 'Southern'. As a consequence, for me at least, sounds were 'off'.

Will some lovely person let me know if the custom sounds work for you? I had them working in a test game but that session was 'contaminated' with the WIP version of my next mod that uses the same soundset...
