This makes dealing with them less frustrating...
Keflin Arivaen 19. feb. 2024 kl. 17:06
Yeah true the combine troopers make snes since they would be augmentedmarines on the other hand would burst fire of three rounds.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 17. feb. 2024 kl. 7:23
Yeah, going full auto all the time may work for augmented Combine troops, but regular people...not so much.
Keflin Arivaen 16. feb. 2024 kl. 22:53
I mean marines are typically trained to fire a few rounds in burst fire in real life though it depends on the rifle or machine guns they use.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 11. feb. 2024 kl. 15:38
I am glad to hear it! It is a small adjustment, but I feel it adds enough improvement to the gameplay to make a difference.

A useful mod, otherwise BM's HECU are tough, shoot non-stop and are practically accurate even when they move from side to side, even I can’t do that and I also move, catch, etc., now with the mod burst shooting from their MP5 as in the orig. H-L 1 has become more pleasant!:bms:
Rook  [ophavsmand] 26. aug. 2020 kl. 13:55
No worries and no problem! I am glad you were able to resolve the issue! Cheers.
Lone Warrior 26. aug. 2020 kl. 13:00
Thanks for your care and quick response! It seems like problem is because of me. I have also old BMS mod version in my steam folder and it looks like I was putting the files in the mod version of bms mistakenly!
So now it works! Sorry to bother you and thanks again for your help and nice mod!
Rook  [ophavsmand] 25. aug. 2020 kl. 9:34
@Lone Warrior I have not found any issue yet on my end. I will keep looking.

In the meantime, if you haven't done this, check your BM file integrity. There may be some files corrupted/missing since the update.

Go to your game Library > Black Mesa > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files

You may also have a mod (or mods) which may affect my mod. In which case I cannot help you.

Still, I will keep looking on my end as time permits.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 23. aug. 2020 kl. 12:42
Hey thanks for the heads up, I'll load up BM and check it out as it has been some time since I have played it. I'll let you know what I find.
Lone Warrior 23. aug. 2020 kl. 7:52
Awesome content! But I couldn't experienced unfortunately doesn't work anymore! There is no sound even though I did exactly what you said in the instructions! Any solutions, workaround or update?
Balls24 20. juni 2020 kl. 4:30
Well alright, hopefully it works :D
Rook  [ophavsmand] 19. juni 2020 kl. 20:47
No, follow the steps I outlined for you in the previous response and you'll be set.
Balls24 19. juni 2020 kl. 17:55
well since i used to mod L4d2 i had to always double click the vpks to run them. Only then would the mod install. Is it the same here?
Rook  [ophavsmand] 19. juni 2020 kl. 17:52
What do you mean? If you put the VPK file in your Custom folder that is all you need to do. If you subscribe to the mod that *should* work without further requirement. Doing both methods at the same time may work fine, but I would recommend only using one method or the other.
Balls24 19. juni 2020 kl. 12:15
Do i need to run the vpk after putting it in or just leave it there.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 8. juni 2020 kl. 13:06
Outstanding! I'm glad to hear everything is up and working properly! No problem bud you were not bothering me in the least, and thank you for your patience too. :D
thefartpromax 8. juni 2020 kl. 5:04
So yeah it worked I didn't thought of that because i already check the game's cache since the 1.0 update Thank you so much for sticking around. At first i feel bad for bothering you but you actually helps me a lot. Keep up the good work :)
Rook  [ophavsmand] 6. juni 2020 kl. 21:16
So I cannot find any issue thus far...Here is an idea that *MAY* help.

Go to your game Library > Black Mesa > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files

There is a possibility that after the 1.0 update some items did not register correctly with the update thus may cause some under the hood issues. I do this for every major update for my main games, including Black Mesa and sure enough there are usually some files that are incorrect.

You may have already thought of this but I figured I would put it out there regardless.

I'll keep testing and let you know if I find anything.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 5. juni 2020 kl. 15:20
Hey sorry I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll have time this weekend and I will investigate it.

On that note, I do know that the BM Devs did reduce the burst fire amount for Vanilla BM, perhaps remove my mod altogether and try that?

Regardless I'll see if I can figure out whats up.

This map help me a lot to test mods on the workshop

It's still a WiP but it's very useful
thefartpromax 4. juni 2020 kl. 21:02
I tried not using the custom folder and it's still the same I even restart the game 5 times and i also did snd_restart I don't know that the cause of this is that it conflicts with BMCE's HECU the weird thing is that they seems to shoot 2 bullets sometime and 3 bullets this happen the same with custom folder and without custom folder
Rook  [ophavsmand] 30. maj 2020 kl. 16:52
Interesting, I'll look into it. Try subscribing and see if that works instead of using the custom folder? Thank you for reporting that.
thefartpromax 30. maj 2020 kl. 16:17
I installed the mod using custom folder and they still shoots me 8 times in a row by counting the bullet shells
Rook  [ophavsmand] 25. juni 2019 kl. 17:22
@GoingKinkajou2

There is no video at present. However if you wish to make one, feel free.
GoingKinkajou2 25. juni 2019 kl. 16:42
Is there a video of this in action?
Rook  [ophavsmand] 25. juni 2019 kl. 14:21
Thank you all for the feedback! I'm gratified my small 'fix' is being well received. Cheers!
Mr. Steal Your Gun 25. juni 2019 kl. 11:32
Fire control! There's no reason to fire off that many rounds at once. This would make so much more sense.
Mason 31. maj 2019 kl. 12:18
This is how the HECU should've behaved in the first place.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 17. maj 2019 kl. 15:47
@That 1 Guy

I have tried to make that work, however whatever I change seems to take no effect, and I am unsure how to proceed. I will look into it (time permitting) but for now it doesn't seem possible.

Sorry about that.
That_1_Guy 17. maj 2019 kl. 8:08
Cool, can you do single shots for the Assassins?
sourceeee 16. maj 2019 kl. 15:30
Veri Great !
Herr Mutter 15. maj 2019 kl. 12:59
Many times do I remember hearing the sound of HL1 Mp5 as the Marines are squatting down and doing their last 3-5 round burst sounds to make sure i'm dead before they walk up and check the body! lol.
1v4n94 14. maj 2019 kl. 16:25
;)
Rook  [ophavsmand] 14. maj 2019 kl. 15:30
No problem, I'll add it in the description.
Cellulose is bad Starch 14. maj 2019 kl. 15:15
agreed

INTERESTING IDEA! Half-Life-ish for sure. You should specify where the mod is downloaded, and what the name of the .VPK file is, though.
