Sorry, no idea then. Setting those settings lower was a common fix back in the day, nowadays I'm really far behind on GMod's changes and such.

i have my texture's as low as they can go, and i have Model detail set to "medium" (any lower, and i might as well be playing HL1...)

I've had some reports of that before, but I have really no idea what could be causing it. What you can try is reducing your model and texture levels in settings, not because your computer can't handle it but because it might be some GMod or Source-specific issue with this map. It's got a lot of custom content and loading it all might be causing problems.

so, i have a pretty high end laptop, 16 gb of RAM, the works, have the whole Orange Box, + Portal 2, but for some reason, upon clicking "Start New Game" with both content packs installed, the game crashes halfway through loading, any ideas?

it uses some content from ep2, yes. however if you somehow manage to acquire the models and materials folders with the content inside for episode 2 and put them in your gmod it SHOULD work also.

I have 2 parts because the whole map and content combined is too big for the max upload size for GMod workshop but around equal 2 parts is under the limit.

Most of the songs in the bar radio are from STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl files (e.g that music probably appeared in the game at one point or another), I don't have names for those tracks as they didn't have proper titles in the files. There is 2 exceptions, I'll link them:

you dont understand, it wont even load, it gets to the "Initializing Game Data" part of the loading bar, then freezes for bout fivem inutes, then abrubtly crashes, and ive reduced my settings in the main menu down to Medium or less

Try reducing your materials and models quality by a notch.

Content additional to the base HL2 content is from CSS and EP2, although the CSS content should be included, EP2 is not as it was mapped in the EP2 hammer.
