I noticed that you mention below that you were working on a updated version of this but that was back in May 2020 so I'm assuming that real life got in the way. Wonder if you're still thinking of combining Skidvar's https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1166048228 with this and any other scripting.lua mod. Thanks.

I work closely with Athanasios. He is working on scripting, but so far that ultimate fixes mod only has a startpos for garrisons and cloth. No scrips to worry about.

I think the release will be delayed until next Friday unless it's something really important. That community patch mod is highly incompatible with Ranks and Bonds from what I can see. They have two conflicting export trigger scripts. I think it would be better to combine the community script add on to some other traits and ancillaries mods that use fewer scripts like prometheus' or others.

I didn't see him at all (450 in the game right now, and I'm Huns' ally from the beginning of the game so I get all the vision), and new stacks are still being spawned whenever something dies, so something majorly problematic must have happened. Turning of the 2018 mod and reverting to an earlier version seems to make things work again, but as you said, the scripts are way to complicated for me to understand! Happy to playtest again once you're done.

I noticed no cutscenes were working. Attila should still have no problem spawning. The scripts are labrynthine in there. It's quite a work.

aside from Skidvar's 2018 mod, I use Athanasios' mod as well, maybe I will try again to see if things work, but I didn't get the cutscenes with the mod on as Alani (and Attila didn't spawn or die either). Might be an issue on my end - will verify cache and see!

I studied the 2018 mod and I don't see any changes to the Attila scripts. I don't think it afffects Attila's spawn. I tried to combine some other scripts into a big script mod, but one won't appear. I think I'll be able to release it next week. Any other script mods you like that work with Skidvar's mod?

It does, as it has it's own ancillaries system!

The 2018 version does have some issues I believe, as Attila didn't spawn in my Alani campaign, so might be worth some bug fixing (weirdly enough, reverting to just Ranks and Bonds + Legendary Heirlooms do not cause the same issue, but I'm not sure if it's just me).

Does the latest Ranks, Bonds mod prevent access to Legendary Heirlooms or Prometheus Legendary Ancillaries? The 2018 version certainly does include the slavic and desert dlc's.

I agree - I only linked it because it has the description (about his new ancillaries system), my main issue is probably more with Better Triggers & Special Traits & Legendary Heirlooms not being updated to include the latest civs, but I used it with Ranks and Bonds so I figured that a combo version with both appeals to more players.

The one you cite is not his latest work which includes the DLC etc.
I'm not sure I have time to combine ranks and bonds original this weekend. It will require extensive testing. I will try to combine the latest with release with one of my script mods.

Basically Skidvar and Prometheus had multiple configurations for users - Traits, Houses, Ancillaries, & Ranks changed the ancillaries system completely, whereas I'm looking only at acquiring Traits and Legendary Heirlooms + Houses, Ranks and Bond. I think these have not been updated for either Desert or Slav.

The original Ranks and Bonds mod doesn't touch the ancillaries system maybe aside from tweaking the spawn conditions (?). The combination release changes the ancillaries system, basically removing almost everything and the majority of characters no longer get any items (you can find the description of the mod at https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=914099103) .

Is there a mod that combines Ranks and Bonds with an ancillary mod? It seems he has scripted each trait and ancillary, but I don't see why have more wouldn't work. So the original one allows additional ancillaries?

I think they are separate mods - I have used that one, but it changes the ancillaries system completely (removing all old ancillaries pretty much). I have some issues with that mod as well, as Attila didn't spawn in my game as Alani :(

Would prefer the combination with Legendary Heirloom as it takes a slightly different approach to things, allowing for combining roleplaying with more vanilla ancillaries system!

That being said, please feel free to take a look at what you like, I'm just thankful that there are modders who help with maintaining our databases!

Was wondering if you would consider compiling a combo version of Ranks and Bonds together with Better Triggers & Special Traits & Legendary Heirlooms? The authors have abandoned the mod and it has not been upgraded to include the Slavic and Desert DLC. Many thanks!

No, it is standalone. That's the point of the mod: one mod replaces three others and makes the messy launch issue a non-issue.

I agree. I don't want to change the original work too much. I would ask Skidvar and Prometheus. Rival could also mean in open opposition to one while hostile could be interpreted as just on bad terms.

Just a thought: shouldn't hostile and rival be switched? Hostile seems the more extreme of the two imo
