Thank you so much! Downloaded the other launcher and it just works, no crashes. I event went back to the basic one to make sure I still get the crashes and yes, I do. Other launcher, 1 mission max till the crash, with the one you gave me, everything is fine.

There are no conflicts in the mods though so actually it should have 0 impact, yet, for some reason, it doesnt work with the other one! So, thank you so much! Able to use your mod now :)

the sudden lag is typically caused by multiple mods overriding the same thing. You should use the alternate mod launcher to see if there's any conflicts.

without the mod, i can tank 8 of them over multiple rounds while blocking all the dmg with just 1 parry, the way it works is that their dmg gets combined into 1 hit which then can be blocked by the parry. it works, I've done a mission just an hour ago.
even with the mod, just not all the time.

the memory leak was the bigger problem, kept crashing my game every hour or so. I've tested it 3 times to be sure it's because of the mod. But as previously mentioned, I'm pretty sure it's the combination of stronger templar parry and Supreme Focus but I've not tested this part, still, almost 99% sure.

losts never actually attack all at once, under the hood they still attacked one at a time, the game only play the animations all at once, what happened is the multiple of them attacking causing at least 2 of them hitting that's why you still take damage.

Just in case someone should stumble upon it and will be investigating some crashes after adding mods. Seems to produce an insane memory leak in combination with 'Supreme Focus'.

In addition, seems to bug out vs Lost. Their attacks are grouped into one big attack, letting the templar tank up to 8 simultaneously, for some reason, with this mod, dmg bleeds through the parry.

it depends on how the AOE is coded, usually an AOE effect still do a "hit roll" which have 100% to success, and templar parry intercepts that, but certain AOE damage such as environmental damage do not have these roll at all so will completely bypass templar parries (and ranger's untouchable)

Pardon me BG, I could be mistaken but didn't Templar's Parry use to protect from AOE attacks as well?

Hi, I love the mod, but I was just wondering if it’s compatible with the Templar overhaul mod ‘Proficiency Class Plugin: Templar’?

So you could ask Deacon Ivory - he tested it, apparently.

I know that mods can be a bit of work, but I ask because hopefully this is a simpler mod to make another version of, just changing around an ini file or something, rather than porting over an entire new cosmetic. Maybe I'm wrong, but hopefully not! Would be great to use your mod in LWOTC :)
Vythica Novern 11 May, 2020 @ 6:57am
@bg Any chance youd be willing to browse through their files and upload a LWOTC compatable version? They just released version 1.3 a couple days ago, and are near completion I hear, so it wouldnt be a waste of time, a lot of people use LWOTC.

snip3s,

Frankly, the faction heroes were underwhelming even in vanilla, save perhaps the Reaper.
-bg-  [author] 10 May, 2020 @ 6:37pm
best guess would be because LWOTC used different perks so this doesn't work.

I dont think this mod works anymore.... trying it with LWOTC, set up a scenario during an extraction mission. killed some guy, ended in half cover, and used Parry (with a smoke grenade from someone else for good measure) vs two Troopers. The first trooper shot, and missed, yay, but the second trooper shot and wounded me, like i didnt even have Parry enabled. I reloaded the save and tried again, exact same result. Why is this?

I like this one, because I always assumed the enemies had to actually hit you to trigger parry.

I will never understand the insane mind that decided how many of the game mechanics ought to work out-of-the-box. Nothing seems to make sense except in the twisted mind of a total lunatic.

I can't find the line to enable reflect when parry is available, tried searching various key words.

Thank you, my liege!

You know that you have broken the game when all of your mods make hero units obsolete.
Nitsah 20 May, 2019 @ 5:55pm
Okay was worried because my guys were already getting finessed.
d_valroth 20 May, 2019 @ 1:11pm
I was finding Templar pretty useless, so this might help. (RPGO+much mods)
Lux Manifestus 20 May, 2019 @ 12:48pm
Good idea.
-bg-  [author] 20 May, 2019 @ 12:38pm
The reflect on parry mod is very different so it won't be compatible
Samio 20 May, 2019 @ 12:05pm
Very nice! Agree with SteelWheels. This is a great idea.
Nitsah 20 May, 2019 @ 9:00am
Does effect any enemy using this such as RM's raiders and Advent Psi ops?
SentySent 20 May, 2019 @ 3:16am
Aside from not triggering Parry on Missed shots, does the Deflect/ Reflect roll functions similar to this Templar Reflect on Parry mod?
SteelWheels 20 May, 2019 @ 1:44am
What a simple but brilliant idea!
mondomau 20 May, 2019 @ 1:28am
Simple, but extremely useful. I use overwhelming enemy pods and this has been bugging me for a while. Cheers!

Oh so parry DID block missed shots, eh? Well we can't have that now can we? Thanks for the fix!
