I also request this mod be updated! The last major update for SFO changed the overall unit balance rather significantly, so without an update the units added in this mod will be comparatively underpowered.

I did make a new variant of the foot squires for Repanse that I will be adding in the update, but otherwise I don't plan on adding anything.

This mod has some SFO specific balance issues - it does not use a SFO-specific discount system. In SFO, bretonnian factions got a stacking discount on units via a tier 5 building that eventually stack to the point of making elite units cost like medium, and peasantry in general cost nothing at all. Once you get going a bit, you found yourself in a predicament where you can field either one 800 gold chevalier unit, or a bunch of 20-or-actually-free gold per pop foot squires, 200-300-400 cavalry units, or monstrous flying cavalry in the same approximate cost range (depending on who your LL is.)

What I am saying, these units getting integrated into that system and getting stacking discounts from corresponding LLs - Enchantress for peasants, Giles/Alberic on knights in general, chevaliers could go to any of the LLs, really... That would help a lot with actually getting to use them in game.

Hello dude! I might have encountered a bug! Its about the chevaliers.
Once you reach royal stables (tier 4 stables) you are able to recruit them. But if u upgrade the building to tier 5 (stables) You are not able to recruit them anymore.
Hope you can fix the issue. Great mod btw Im enjoying it along with Darok bretonia sfo version :D

Well so far in my little matches here and there I dont see anything wrong with them. They're really situational and have good and bad matchups but otherwise hold their own...

so.... basically exactly what ive been waiting for :D

Hey meesa again! :D Well for the HE or the DE I always liked the idea to have some sort of "foot knight" for them. Like the cold one knights dismounted or the Silver helm dismounted ^^

The mod I'm working on now is a norsca unit pack. After that I was thinking about making some vampire units and maybe greenskins. For the HE and DE I enjoy their unit roster so im hard pressed for ideas, but I might think of something later on.

Oh btw! forgot to mention! about foot squires with polearms! Units with Halbert in SFO have a skill named cavarly bane u may wanna add it in the updated of tomorrow! Anything i find I wll let u know ^^ there is no hurry btw Im not demanding anything! just telling u =)

Yea I could do that maybe cap them to 4. I'm working on another mod at the moment but I'll probably have that implemented by tomorrow.

Well as Skarr said, those guys are basically chosens for bretonia, u can always cap the max number of them right? I mean to keep their strentgh but to not be spammed =)

Alright the units have been updated and I have used the suggestions along with my own testing to have hopefully reached a good middle ground of balance. I did try out the grail regen and unbreakable on the chevaliers and found both a little too strong.
I am still open to making changes but I also want to be careful not to make too drastic of a change.

would like to remind on the grail vitality for chevaliers. all grail units, grail knights, paladins and grail guardians have it in the game! I would not give much AP to the knights of the realm., since knights herrant and chevaliers are already for that. Other than than that i kinda agree with the general skarr

for grail monks add unbreakable and for hermilauts make them 750 gold.

Also yes i purposefully made them all more expensive and powerfull than their horse counterparts. The reason for this is because bretonnia isnt supposed to have a powerfull millitary, so i beleive this makes it hard but possible. And lets be honest why spend money on a inf unit when you can spend it on a slightly less powerfull but MUCH cheaper cav unit that can go and flank?

Hopefully it can still keep the cav effectivness there while still allowing for everyone to be happy with the foot knights :D

Ill play every few days to see when you do it and i'll go in and see what needs tweaking : )

Make the Chevies cost 2000. Im comparing to blood knights, Chosen, etc. Basically the uber scary units of total war. These guys literally sipped from the grail, even in the lore they are BETTER than the blood knights and are easily the best warriors around. HOWEVER we dont want just some all powerfull super men curb stomping everything out of existence cuz then the game is no fun. So heres what i got:

Blessing of the lady
Unbreakable
Encourage
All added.

wepon damage base incresed to 60
Bonus vs infantry increased to 20

melee 40




the last one MIGHT end up being OP because of all this aditional stuff. If it is increase the price to 3000
Most powerfull infantry unit in the game? Honestly probably, BUT spending 3000 gold means you're willingly spending that money hoping this ONE unit saves the day, which i think matches both the lore and the strategy perfectly. You'll see maybe one of these rarely, which i think is brilliant.

Alrighty for Knights of the realm pop that sucker up to 1400. Comparing to empire knights and of course some chaos

unit size 65
+6 armor
+2 leadership
same speed
attack +10
defense +10
+10 wepon strength base damage
+8 Armor peircing.
+4 vs infantry

give the anti large perk

I figure these guys should basically be slightly better since they proved themselves worthy of fighting for the realm however battle wise you probably wont want them unless you are defending a seige, which justifies the anti large (cuz if im being honest even A.I is smart enough to shoot the horses down before sending in their monster units, therefore they should be able to defend themselves. And if going against a monster heavy faction you might want to use them with peasents.

Alright, after doing some test the here's what i would suggest (not a big tester so maybe it'll need to be updated eventually)

Knights Errant (foot):with these guys i'd say both lore and play wise they should be better, more expensive, squires with less numbers. So naturally they were the main ones i compared them to. However i also comapared them to wood elf eternal warriors and sigmar disciples. Also of course the horse counterpart. So for them I'd say

Unit Count should be 75
Prince the price up to 1000. Not enough to make it uber expensive, but for sure enough to where you'll be considering the Squires for builds.

Speed - 3
Melee Attack +8
melee defense + 8
+5 wepon strength base damage (after all they fight beatmen)

Now i this will put them on par with imperial greatswords despite being cheaper, but since bretonnia will still be FAR less rounded than the empire makes up for it. Also these guys have been training from birth as knights so they should compare lore wise.

Alright I was worried that would be too op but I didn't play much sfo so balancing feedback like this is very helpful.
General Skarr what specifically do you think I should change their ma/md, weapon damage, or cost?

I agree with General Skarr, tho I would also give them that bretonian hp regen (to the chevaliers) since all the "grail related" units have that "grail vitality"
