@KaburaTheGoat
Hi, somewhere down the line the workshop system was changed. I wasn't aware of the fact, this actually broke this mod though. Most likely that's an easy fix I can apply soon.
Thanks for letting me now. :D:

It is not working, it says it's a Legacy type mod. Is there a way to change this setting or it's a problem with my game?

Cool :) Btw I forgot to thank you for making the default gray bridge mod! It looks dark and epic! I wasn't too fond of the old green one :P
To be honest I was surprised when you ending up making it!
You seem to help a lot of people out on steam, and I really appreciate your efforts. :steamhappy:

Great v1 is what you were looking for. :)

Most of my mods that have different versions do contain different approaches. So while one is the newest one that potentialy also benefits from more experience in doing these textures on my side, another one might fit your likings a lot better.

Only very few mods (including this one) indeed have a 'real' content update that just fixes a bug or improves some specific aspects - like this one featuring an updated deep water and updated wave effect while beeing the same content otherwise.
And for it is like that in this case I decided to update the v1 mod now that this is possible again (updating a published mod at all...) instead of upgrading both mods.

I just didn't delete the v2 in case time proves me wrong and I do need it. Maybe I should set it to hidden so no one gets confused...

It works! Thanks :3

Thanks for the quick reply btw! :D
julianbaba4 10 Dec, 2015 @ 3:42am
Ok! I just assumed that this V2 was the most up to date version :P
Ozhara  [author] 10 Dec, 2015 @ 3:31am
Right - this was an update for v1 (and only offered some slight color changes) that is upgraded now and slightly updated content wise too.
So you might give v1 a try?
julianbaba4 10 Dec, 2015 @ 3:21am
Ozhara can you please update this mod? Coz it does not work anymore :(

I wait ... I hope that AOFE 2 HD 'll be able to support very well very high quality animations without crashing ( it might be occured ) - such as Age of Titan ... I enjoy complex graphism with many and many details .
Meanwhile, Oxam build up house and others substructure. It still run on very well. i didn't crash with this patch yet. So, a eruption, melt of iceberg, why not?
Ey, yes, add also more form of iceberg .

:D:

Well, there are only two ways to achieve this.

a) adding new terrains to the dat file - which means the map would only be usaable with this edited dat file and incompatible with every other dat file mod (so I don't recomment this).

b) while there is no way of adding water effects to non water terrains without dat file edits, I could create a terrain pack exactly fitting such a map. You can take a look at my halloween pack, it coveres all terrains with lava and also adds lava to the water. (I also did some other 'themed' terrain packs)
That way you would need to use this terrain pack to get the real feeling of such a map, but it wouldn't crash the game not using them. Of course this would need some thoughts about which exact terrains such a map needs so every unneeded one can be converted into an additional terrain instead. This also would mean you shouldn't use such a terrain pack with any other map as it wouldn't fit with 'randomly' replaced terrains.

It'd be truly nice to be able paint at the same time with water and lava ( no switching brushes ). I could make volcano eruption in the game such like at Hawai (Kilauea, Mauna Loa, Pu'h'u oi ...), Italy ( also 6 volcanos ) or Iceland ( Grimsvötn, Eyjäfjöll , Hekla, Barðabunga and more 130 volcanos ) , lava and ice.
Add + solfatare (sulfure , fumerolles ...) close to volcano. Water + lava = beautiful ; Lava + Ice = Ice melts, and crater emits ashes like Barðabunga or Hekla recent eruption .
Volcano could be animated with eruptions ( smoke , ashes, solfatares) ; then upon a time eruption ceases and lava dries and crater emit less and less ashes and gaz. Eruption occure sometimes, no all the time and no anywhere ( according to choice in parameters about place in eruption).
Meanwhile, it's too weird to can fish or sail on lava, Lol. =D

thank you very much :)

just unsubscribe and then verify your game cache. :)

Switching between mods is possible but only with some manual work or by using my mod manager.
Chenipod16 3 Oct, 2014 @ 5:59pm
How uninstall this mod or get the choice between water or lava ?
I cannot paint with water anymore.
XxDisaster59xX 23 Sep, 2014 @ 8:47am
Okay could replace dirt by lava, or dry grass and rock.
Ozhara  [author] 23 Sep, 2014 @ 4:56am
As I said - I CAN replace land terrains. I just asked you what terrains you do want to be replaced exactly.

And I want to know this because of the fact I'd replace existing land terrains and this doesn't work without drawbacks.

In case I use some grass, most maps beside desert ones will be covered in lava - so you can choose between desert, snow, lava more or less.
I can change the desert or some other not that often used terrains, resulting in lava not beeing that dominant, but this also means most maps won't have lava at all.

So this highly depends on personal taste - changing just 'some' terrains will most likely not perfectly cover your likings.

Please tell me which terrains you want to be changed so it really fits your likings - and if you just want these lava terrains or something like my halloween pack - I could change snow into burnt ground for example - that way you would have grass/desert/lava for example.
XxDisaster59xX 23 Sep, 2014 @ 4:22am
Okay and you can not replace, for example just one or two kind of grass?
Ozhara  [author] 22 Sep, 2014 @ 10:26pm
You can only add terrains by editing the dat file, which automatically would be incompatible with any other dat file mods like mega resources, unit changes, technology changes, rotting corpses, ... . And I don't even know if this would affect any other parts of the game. At least no map existing for now does use this terrain that is non-existant for now.

So this is no option for now. For now I can replace existing terrains. This means in case you want water and lava, I have to replace some land terrains with lava - which means all existing maps could have used terrains beeing replaced with lava.

I thought about all this when doing my lava water. And the only option not breaking any exting stuff (and the visually most satisfying one) was to replace the water - unless changing all like I did in my halloween pack.
XxDisaster59xX 22 Sep, 2014 @ 12:37pm
I would like lava but I can also put water on the map, I would like lava does not replace any water, for example I can put lava and water on a map.
Ozhara  [author] 22 Sep, 2014 @ 11:29am
which terrains do you want to be changed exactly?
XxDisaster59xX 22 Sep, 2014 @ 11:19am
ok thank you
Ozhara  [author] 22 Sep, 2014 @ 7:15am
Replacing terrains with lava is possible - but just static, without dat file editing you can't add water effects or something like that to land terrains.
XxDisaster59xX 22 Sep, 2014 @ 6:43am
Would it be possible to create a package of lava, but replaces two textures of grass, because if one wants to play with lava and water can not. ^^
thank you

For everyone that is interested in the volcanic texture pack:
I released it as a halloween special:

I guess differentiating the terrain is the tricky part, because there are bunch of different terrains that should look somewaht distincive, even if they are all covered in ash ...
Sounds awesome though; I can't wait :)
Ozhara  [author] 12 Sep, 2013 @ 10:14pm
OK, I tested around a bit the last days.

First I tried to cover everything with lava and volcanic rocks. That looked really awesome, like playing in hell, but there were no real gaming possible for you couldn't really tell were land and water were placed beside the minimap.^^
Second try was to coveer the land only with volcanic rock and ash. That too helped me to figure out the best looking terrain textures, but wasn't playable as well, as every land terrain looked very similar and the whole screen was red and black...
Ozhara  [author] 12 Sep, 2013 @ 10:14pm
So what I'm planing to do is a V4 texture pack, containing areas of volcanic rocks, lava and ash on every land terrain and a combination of water and lava for the water, like the lava is floating into the sea. The snow/ice part I thought of looking like melting for the lava, so ice will be lava/volcanic rocks partly covered with ice, with visible lava beneath. And the snow will be less than on normal snow terrains.
For game objects like trees, mines, berry bushes and such I thought to make them looking like beeing covered with ashes. Similar to the ones you can find in my winter pack.

What do you think?
CrimsonSun 12 Sep, 2013 @ 1:06pm
I think that would be a cool idea Zetnus.
Ozhara  [author] 9 Sep, 2013 @ 8:27am
Interesting idea. I'll have a look at that.
Damn, I have to start organizing all mod ideas/requests to not forget some of them... ^^
Zetnus 9 Sep, 2013 @ 7:51am
Hey Ozhara, If you haven't done so already, I would suggest that you could make a volcanic texture pack for land textures that fits with the lava for the water. So that the whole map would like like it was after a volcanic eruption. I was thinking a lot of grey and black, a few grasses trying to grow through the volcanic soil etc...
