No and there will not be. I will no longer maintain my mods for this game as I no longer play it. The source code is available on github if you want to port it to FU though. It's MIT licensed so you can basically do whatever you want with it.

Just letting you all know the mod causes the game to crash on startup.

I have not tested it, I just looked at the mod files themselves back in the day to confirm it is not compatible. Either the game will crash due to a conflict of it trying to edit the same parameters, or nothing will happen to the Landable Gas Giant planets as they are likely different planet types all together.

It will only affect new planets generated in your world.

Even though the generation is already made once you start the game. does the Gas Giant Size get changed if I install the mod mid playthrough? I kinda want the adjusted size even though I know the generation wouldn't happen an already existing game.

If I already have a colonized planet on a gas giant, does adding this mod will alter the look of the parallax backdrop to show the bigger gas giant?

I was always under the impression it was a hardcoded limit when they changed the navigation map. This game is not difficult to mod. Most of it is just json patching from what I've done. There's not much to this mod, but it is open source so you can view what I did as an example if you did want to start modding this game. I also did check out the link, it was actually quite interesting.

I've been thinking about modding, (no experience yet) I just wish I had more time and money to dive into it deeply (I've ideas for Starbound and Stellaris)
Mod related question though, do you think the solution might lie in making a bigger navigation window? Simulatoralive's More Planets mod successfully had more moons around planets, but that was before 1.3, and he suggested a larger nav window mod to make his work, but unfortunately I can't find one out there.

Starbound cannot handle more than 4 satellites unfortunately. I tried and it didn't show on the map. As far as adjustments to this mod I will most likely not do anything to it. This mod is 2 years old and I will probably just leave it as is because the people using it will be used to it like this. Thanks for the feedback though. If this was 2 years ago when I played the game and the mod was still fresh, I certainly would've taken it into account.

I like the idea of this mod. Especially the increased chances of satellites. Though maybe 90% is a bit high?
I also wish gas giants could have more moons. Dunno if that's something you're interested in doing.
Also, if you're interested, it seems that Chucklefish was right about the vanilla gas giant size in the night sky of it's moons. I did a quick google search. The gas giant would likely be around 24 times the size of the moons

Dam i want my gas giants to have more moons and look big but the mod isnt compatible with FU :(

To be fair, that mod has nothing on FU's Gas Balls. I've never quite understood why Sayter was unable to completely replace all Gas Giants.

It shouldn't be too hard. I took a quick look at the FU gas giants in celestial.config.patch and it should be fairly simple.

This is not client side and there isn't an easy way to make this client side. (You'd probably have to use lua scripting) This will be server side and clients shouldn't need the mod to see its affects.

Funny you ask this. I made this while I had true space installed. I have been using it with truespace the entire time and it works great. Due to what I edited it should also be compatible with vanilla or any mod that doesn't adjust the size of gas giants and the chances they have to spawn satellites.

I am unsure, but if that mod doesn't modify the satellite spawning or scaling size of the gas giants in celestial.config it should be fine.
